Right? I wish science would just decide if I'm supposed to shove the white or the yolk up my vagina. I guess to play it safe, I'll just shove up the whole egg for now.
I wonder how long it will be before we get a random person asking us about putting egg yolk up her vagina.....
"I read that egg yolk gets you pregnant, how much should I use?"
Don't forget to make sure they are DHA and Omega-3 enriched!

I know the title sounds funny, but Intralipids are a common treatment for high NK cells an auto immune implantation disorder. I have high NK cells and had my Intralipid infusion almost two weeks ago.
DH (32): SA is ok, slightly low morph, normal SCSA Me (32): Slightly low progesterone, hostile CM, carrier for CF, Moderately high NKC, High TNFa, heterozyogous mutated Factor XIII, and +APA
October 2012-May 2014: 4 failed IUIs, 3 failed IVFs, and 1 failed FETw/donor embryos
November 2014: IVF w/ICSI #4 Agonist/Antagonist with EPP and Prednisone, Baby Aspirin, Lovenox, and IVIG for immune issues. Converted to freeze all due to lining issues. 2 blasts frozen on day 6!
January 2015: FET #2 Cancelled due to lining issues

Just read the actual article. The Post is dumbing this shit way down. It's not like she dosed herself with the egg. Which would be way more awesome.
Correlation =/= causation. She did the yolk thing 3 more times and it failed, I'm skeptical that had anything to do with why she got pregnant. Why is NY Post publishing such stupid things?
Because it's the NY Post.
Are they not legit? I'm more of an msn.com kind of gal myself.
No, they're not legit IMO
I know the source is sketchy (and the article title is stupid), but Intralipids are a real treatment for high natural cells that causes implantation disorders. It's essentially a nutritional supplement infused through an IV. I have high NK cells and did my Intralipid infusion almost 2 weeks ago

No I agree the title is stupid, but if you read the article it does explain that the treatment was a mix of eggs and soy called "Intralipid." Most news articles/shows dumb down infertility treatments. When the today show did a special on IVF, they dumbed down the entire process and a lot of the terminology wasn't quite correct. Even dumbed down getting the word out about fertility issues is a good thing. It 's such a taboo subject.
Autoimmune issues are a relatively new area in the infertility world, so I like getting the awareness out there. I wish they had used a less sensational title, but it's to draw readers in.

I work on NK cells and was thinking this morning of looking in PubMed or something for more specific info on it. I know there are correlations between a gene called HLA C and the receptors on the NK cells that can impact pregnancy; it's really interesting stuff.

It's still controversial in the world of infertility. Some REs don't think that auto immune implantation dysfunction is really an issue. My clinic is one of the "leaders" in the area. Actually Intralipids were a huge step forward for High NK cells, before the condition was treated with IVIG which cost like $3000 per treatment. Intralipids have been found to be just as effective for only about $300 a treatment. Huge step forward.
Now this is the kind of info I wish was in the article, instead of focusing on the fact that it is an egg derivative.

No problem @slappalicious. The article made the whole thing sound silly, but it actually is a pretty cool advancement in treating auto immune implantation dysfunction.

Do you ever wander into the ALI blogs? A good friend has one and she has talked a lot about autoimmune disorders and the link to her repeat losses.
Searching For Our Silver Lining Warning: She did resolve and gave birth to twins. She's just now starting to blog again after their birth.
Thanks for the link, I'll have to check it out. I did take a quick look and it looks like she has APA (Amino Antiphospholipid Antibodies) which is another auto immune disorder. Luckily I screened negative for APA.
What is interesting is that if you have one one auto immune disorder, you are higher risk for having another. It makes me wonder is the chronic hives I had for 2 years that was chalked up to an auto immune issues (I never tested positive for any particular disorder) put me at higher risk for High NK cells.
Also another little known fact is that women with endo are more likely to have high NK cells.

I think it's awesome that you know so much about your body and science in general.
My clinic gives seminars and I attended one before IVF #2 (they raffle off a free cycle at the seminar, which was the real reason I was there). One of the topics discusses was immune issues. Plus after being diagnosed with high NK cells, I did a little research.

Re: Guys.
I actually read about womb transplants happening in Sweden in the BBC also: https://www.bbc.co.uk/news/health-25716446 !!
Definitely experimental and not in anyway close to a mainstream treatment... But interesting none the less!
srsly guise
