I'm sick of people whining about winter. Not necessarily the ladies on here, but just people in general. Particularly where I live. We're in Canada, it's winter, it's cold and snowy...get used to it.

I'm in MI and normally I agree with you 100%, but this winter I'm totally complaining about this constant, ridiculous-ass wind chill haha
I said this in RTT yesterday and it may not be a UO here but it surprisingly seems to be IRL - I genuinely get concerned about the safety of a child if they use pet names for their genitalia.
DD recently asked what daddy has since she knows it's not a 'gina (V's are hard when you're 2). This morning she was thinking about it and tried to confirm that daddy has a peanut. I think I'll spare him from that thought.
I love Beyoncé, however I don't love her new hair.
My UO I CAN'T STAND Beyoncé. I think she screams/whines when she sings, she never wears pants (we get it you have legs for days and a nice ass) and her alter ego she refers to is stupid. People argue it's impossible to hate her, I don't have the energy to hate her but she makes my skin crawl. Also I don't like ANY of her songs!

I will go one step further and say that I actually love winter as long as there is snow on the ground. When it's all dreary blah and the ground is bare I am not a fan, but I loooove snow.
I finally have one, I don't think schools should be able to ban hand held gaming devices during recess. Let the kids play.
I think the forced social interaction is good. Kids are spending so much time in front of computers/games these days.
They are interacting, it is just different from when you were a kid. Some of the kids I traded pokemon with were in my wedding party. Eta And we would meet up when the only way to play those games was through a cable. Now kids these days have wireless gaming on a 3DS.

I think the device thing is more because they cause headaches when they get stolen at school, so schools try to discourage students from bringing them at all.

Totally agree! I also love when everyone drives like there's 10 feet of snow on the ground and we only got about 1 foot. It's Canada. We get this crap every winter and it's not like it changes. Put winter tires on or stay home until spring comes along. This might be because I was 40 minutes late on Monday because everyone was scared of the 1 foot of snow on the ground. Ugh!

I plan on never giving my child maple syrup, hoping they will never want it. I hate the smell, I hate the sticky fingers and face---and well I just actually despise pancakes in general. Family breakfasts at my house will be egg burritos and breakfast sandwiches--- and occasionally cold pizza.
Not super controversial- but something I am very passionate about.

It bothers me when people refer to their pets as the siblings of their actual children. My brother does this, and it always bothers me! I love my dog ad take good care of him, he's part of the family, but he's not an equal to my children, I'm sorry.

Let them do what they want-- as long as it is outside and in fresh air (no different than reading a book)! BUT under no circumstance at the dinner table. I cant stand when you see a family out at a restaurant and one kid has their ipod in and one is playing on their ipad while the parents try to talk to them!

this is similar to an UO i posted in a prior week....

Ugh I SO agree with this. I think it is so weird! Or when people say their new puppy is preparing them for what it's like to have a baby bc it wakes them up to go outside early in the morning or the middle of the night or whatever. Um, no. Just... no. Having a puppy is not like having a baby. at all.
I really hate being pregnant. Mostly because my body hates it. Bedrest sucks and the constant contractions are a mind f*ck. Now I'm borderline GD and need to meet with a nutritionist and likely check sugars. I can't wait for it to be over. Yes, I'm realized I'm blessed to be pregnant and this baby is totally worth it, but my first postpartum toast will be to the end of my childbearing career. We may want a third but will look into adoption (which as an adoptee I've always wanted to do!).

ooooh, here's one i know will rile up a few ladies here!
disney is for children. adults who go for an adult vacation creep me out. the magic kingdom is not a grown up destination, C'MON!!
and another one... i'm on a roll now!!
super over-themed or matchy nurseries are so very unappealing.
let's just keep on going.....
i don't care how "not drunk" you are after putting back a few... you are still an asshole if you get behind a wheel after a night of drinking no matter how safe you personally feel. don't do it, ever. EVER.

My mom is constantly referring to our cat as her grandcat and her cat is my sister. What? So does that make her cat my cats aunt? It's just weird and I hope once she has a real grandchild she will stop it with the Grandcat stuff.

Yes, but I figure they get enough digital interaction outside of school hours. 6 hours a day without devices won't kill them. Unless they do after school activities.

This too. We have friends who want to get a puppy right before having a kid to prepare or whatever but now they are just going to have to take care of a puppy and a baby! It's silly.
Our kids can't take devices to school. Phones have to be off or in a locker. Never out for use.
What age did you give your kids phones?
I was one of the first to get one (14 years ago!) when someone did a hit & run on me (hilarious story involving the cops calling my dad and me crying/yelling into their phone "He hit me dad! He hit me and HE RAN!"). He gave me a phone the next day, but I rarely used it since none of my friends had one, it was useless except for emergencies.
I kinda want to give them that old Nokia so they won't be glued to it like I see a lot of kids nowadays (sigh, myself included).

I totally tell our dog, DC, that she's going to have a little sister. That said, I don't actually think she's a human... Obviously people don't think they're actually like siblings. :-S

I hate Disneyland and am not looking forward to my kids wanting to go someday. Maybe it will be more fun to see my kids super excited about it. I hope so.

I hate to say it,because I still think Madonna is awesome and I wish I would age as gracefully as her . . . But . . . Yeah . . .
