DH and I had this discussion the other day! I have several albums full of pics and just had more printed the other day!
I also liked the topic of maintaining your marriage after kids that has come up today. I think it is a natural fear but if you want your marriage (whatever kind of marriage, ha!) to be happy and are willing to make the effort, you can do it. It just does take more effort; since you have less time you have to make more effort to find time for your spouse. And really it is just as true that you have to make more effort to find time for yourself, but both are necessary. We love our children but eventually they will have lives of their own (god willing), and we are left with each other. Plus it is out of love for each other that we even wanted these kids in the first place. And as a practical matter, I find my spouse contributes much more to the household and is more helpful around the house when his needs in our marriage are met. And guess what? I feel the same. So it is all win-win.
If someone finds my point, tell me. Think I lost it.

I miss all the threads everyone is sick of, at least they were an entertaining read. At best, they turned into really interesting conversation before the food posts start. i also (currently) appreciate the UO's that are utterly stupid over the deep meaningful ones. that opinion changes often, though.

2. My UO: I'm going for an early sex determination ultrasound (elective) on Saturday. Now, I haven't been AW at all with any of my ultrasounds or doppler appointments, but you can bet your britches that I'm going to SS it up and post a thread about it on Saturday. And there will be 3D photos. I'll also post the pertinent info in the proper thread as well. If you don't like it, you are more than welcome to go fuck off over there in the corner.

I don't like Madonna at all and I think she is getting grotesque looking and I wish she would go away, but does anyone criticize male musicians like this?
Steven Tyler is not aging well, nor are any of the Rolling Stones. Willie Nelson is up there and Paul McCartney and Ringo Star are pretty old too. Is anyone telling them to give it up and let the younger kids take over? Madonna was huge back in her heyday just like all of them were.
I'm guessing her DH is a police officer with a K9 partner? If so, nice to see another police wife
@aliletz regarding you anxiety about your relationship after marriage:
I know others have said this, but I personally felt more connected to DH after DD was born that I did before. I think it made us a stronger couple and now we have this amazing sense of pride and love in our lives.
I guess my UO is ::puts on flame retardant suit:: that it drives me BSC when a woman has a child and then spends all of their energy on the child and pays no attention to their spouse. Lots of women also stop caring for themselves (let themselves go) and then wonder why their spouses are no longer attracted to them. No wonder many spouses look elsewhere when their "needs" aren't being met, and I'm not even meaning just sex. DH and I do not DTD very often but we are close in other ways. I guess this could go either way, but you get what I'm saying.
My UO - I think people are going off the deep end with the marijuana legalization. Every day on fb I see about a million posts being like, "it's safe", "it's wonderful", etc etc. It scares me a little bit for people to feel like it's fine for others to run around stoned out of their minds, driving cars around me. I've been to The Netherlands a few times in the past couple years, and honestly, would not put myself behind the wheel of a car after eating space cake. It's not safe. If you want to use the "it's safer than alcohol" thing, go ahead, but I don't drink and drive either.
If someone goes to the grocery store, picks up a few delicious snack items (cool ranch doritos, the puffy cheesy poofs, fruity pebbles, kool aid, etc) then returns home and smokes, I have no problem with it, but people don't do that.

Exactly, though my generation may not be the same as everyone's here. I am sure there must be someone on this board who does not agree but it is so unpopular they won't say so.
