  • I hate when people drive with their turn signal on, waiting for someone to let them change lanes (for no reason....if you have to get over because your exit is coming up, then I get it).  If you're just changing lanes because you feel like it, wait until there is a break in traffic.  No one should have to let you in.
I hate when people don't signal and cut you off!

jwls84 this is not unpopular. I completely agree... however, leave in the US sucks, so it is what it is I suppose!

  • I'm taking a sick day today
Not feeling well again! (Head cold and sore throat) And part of me felt bad when 2 others called off, then I realized
Why GAF. Who says they need it more than I do... I have 12 more working days until leave so what's an extra day
  • Flavored coffee is a foul, undrinkable disgrace to the fine name of coffee worldwide. HURK.

Ooo I want to send you one of my roasts. It's not overpoweringly flavored, but only there to compliment the beans (like how some teas are)

  • I hate when people go off registry.  I stalked mine out of curiosity and because people either went off registry or didn't read, I'm getting three jumpers...two of which will be returned.  Now, don't get me wrong, I'm thrilled for their generosity, but if you're going to use the registry can you at least SKIM it to see what people have bought already?

RIP Dr. Irving Fishman - 10/1/19-7/25/10 - thank you for holding on for me.
You made my wedding day complete.

This happens a lot because of store errors... Sometimes they don't properly scan the registry/item when the person is checking out, so it doesn't get taken off the registry.

  • I love flavored coffee, but think flavored creamer is disgusting.

I don't feel one bit bad for my DH about the dry spell he has been forced into lately...actually lately probably isn't the right word...more like most of this pregnancy. If that is the biggest sacrifice he has to make while I'm pregnant, I just can't get on board with handing out any sympathy. Luckily he is very good about accepting that.

  • oh see I hate when people don't let me over, especially if I have to get over and I have my signal on. I get it, you shouldn't have to SLAM on your breaks to let someone over, but be courteous! We are all trying to get somewhere and I am trying to be nice and ask first at least!

  • I was so proud of myself for buying from someone's registry last weekend. I never do it, and was trying to be all good. I show up and she got 4 of the same set of a&a blankets from her registry. I felt so dumb like I hadn't checked, but I did! Plus I bought online w/ instore pickup, and they couldn't give me a paper receipt or a gift receipt, so I had nothing to give her. Big failure on my part and I'm going back to no registry buying.

I'm trying to figure out how to tell people: "feel free to go off registry!" I'm clueless and I'm hoping my mom friends will go off registry and buy what they think is good to have! Heck, I'm hoping my childless friends will buy things they *think* would be useful, because it's about as good as my guesses!

But as someone who hates having to buy off registry (for bridal showers, weddings, and baby showers), I don't feel comfortable not registering.

  • Don't flame me TOO hard...

But I've never used birth control pills, nor do I ever plan to. I've heard the horror stories of women who do use them, only to have it thwart their entire reproductive system, and they end up with infertility issues. I've also known plenty of women that use them regularly and have had no problems, so I'm not saying that NO ONE EVER should use them.. Just that even though its a tiny risk, its not one I'm willing to take.

  • This isn't really a UO, but I just want to vent my irritation somewhere... It's kind of annoying to be due with a baby in March, b/c I'm sorting through my coupons and stuff that I was given in early pregnancy, and a good number of them (especially for diapers) were good for the entire year 1/13-12/31/13! Well, guess what marketing companies, that doesn't really do me any good right now, and it certainly wouldn't do me any good come March when I actually have a clue about what size/brand diapers I want!

I don't *hate* when people go off registry, but I wish they would a least LOOK at it to see what we have already. One of my friends moms couldn't make it to my shower, so she ordered online from target, where we're registered and had it shipped to us. She bought a random bouncer and a random play mat, both of which we already had, which you could see on the registry. I want to return them and get other things, because we don't need two bouncers (plus the one she sent doesn't have very good reviews on Target.com) and THREE activity mats, but I feel like they're the kind of people that would come to our house and expect to see what they bought us being used.

I'm not going to flame you on not using BC. That's an individual choice. But on your comment about BC causing infertility issues, I don't think that's true. My understanding is that BC use can mask fertility issues that you may have discovered sooner had you not been on BC. I'm not a doctor, so sow one else can feel free to refute that, but that's what I've always heard.
I've never heard of it masking the symptoms, but like you, I'm also not a doctor. I'll have to look further into that.

  • Another one for the day...I think it's ridiculous when people complain about their weight while downing can after can of pop/soda. I saw a thing on pinterest that said you wouldn't eat 10 tsp of sugar...why drink it? overall I think pop/soda (can you tell I'm from pittsburgh with the pop thing!?) is generally gross and pointless unless it's diet coke mixed with captain morgan. Then it's perfectly acceptable.

Or when people complain about their mystery stomach problems that their doctors just can't diagnose, but yet they drink 5 cans of Pepsi a day.... Hmm I think we all know why you are so sick!

Just out of curiosity do you have a BC method?  Personally I have always use an IUD but then again I have the sex drive of a bunny and pretty fertile so for me the minimal risk swings over into the worth it category.

I can't wait to see this movie!!

Yes! SIL does this and drinks like 3 Big Gulps per day. Didn't NYC make them illegal!?  But her issues stem from a whole myriad of diagnoses...not that fact that she is the most unhealthy human being I have ever met! oooookkkk. I'm sure the fact that you wash down your diet pills with pepsi is totally not affecting your health.
  • Ok, here goes. Women who try to start inducing labor at 37 weeks, 38 weeks, 39 weeks for NO reason other than that they are done being pregnant, or tired, or bloated, or can't sleep. Cry me a freakin' river. I've had a baby at 32 weeks, 35 and 36 weeks and it is scary as shit to always have to deal with the possibility of my babies having to spend time in the NICU or having problems. I would gladly trade with someone who had to go to 40+ weeks!!!

I feel the same!!! This LO will be #3 and I haven't hit a due date yet. I so want to be one of those moms that hits 41 weeks just so I know that the chances of seeing the inside of a nicu are slim to none!

Needing to get over is different from "I'm bored and want to change lanes" of if they're behind someone slow.  Example, if you're on a freeway where ALL of the exists are on the right, and you want to get over to the left, obviously you don't NEED to get over right away.  So wait till it's clear, don't expect people to let you over just because you feel like changing lanes.  Also, if you want over and I am just about to pass you and there is nobody in the lane behind me, you can wait for me to pass you and then get over.

Not one that's not embarrassing. We pull & pray. Also, avoiding the time of month when I'm ovulating (I'm an avid period tracker--I love my menstral calendar app!) It worked for us for 2 years and then we started trying...couple of months later a BFP. Thanks to my semen issue we're back to pulling out. I know this method is not 100% effective, nothing is. It's been working for us, and that's good enough for me! I'm definitely not going to go spouting off this method for teenagers to use. My H knows his limits, & we've had a few "scares" but where we're in a committed relationship I don't feel terrible about not having rock solid protection.

  • Apparently parents think it's fine to send their child to school if they're sick. I now have bronchitis and I know exactly which child gave it to me [-(
And what really makes me mad is when the parent sends in a note saying, my child is very sick with _____, please let them stay inside during recess.
    No.

My U/O is that I think intros are stupid, and I skip over them. I would much rather GTKY by having you jump in and participate on the board. Most people who intro never become active anyway.
Do people even click on those anymore? I stopped that months ago. Like you said, I'd rather just GTKY through the board. (Even though I don't spend tons of time posting on here, I lurk quite often.)
