how long for matern21 results?

I know this blood test goes by a few other names, so anyhow, how long did it take you to get your gender results after taking the blood draw?

huh. It seems to vary a bit. I believe a nurse I initially spoke with about it told me it would take roughly 2 weeks. Out of curiosity, does anyone know why? Usually blood tests provide fairly quick results, I am guessing with this that there is more extensive testing involved. Its worth thte wait, its still better that waiting until the typical 16-18 wk mark that was the usual way to determine gender.

Got my results today, got another "not enough DNA to test" result so I guess my blood is just weird

ob suggests getting an amnio instead.

Maybe it depends on the lab? Mine was Verifi and took about a week.

I had my blood drawn last Thursday--results meeting this Friday. I asked to meet with the genetic counselor to get the results, so my hubby and I could be together for them and I wouldn't get some random call at work. So, that's the plan.

Mine was 14 days! They told me the lab that they send it out to was backed up. I know the waiting is hard! Good luck!

So at my appt. yesterday they told me 7-10 business days. I am not counting today bc we had a snowstorm. I heard the nurse drawing my blood say they send it out to Ca.?? That's interesting considering I live on the East Coast. Anyhow, this will test true patience. The healthy heartbeat was enough to keep me satisfied.

I called after a week and a half bc I was going crazy- they had results just hadn't called me- I was furious!! Started bawling immediately & nurse says- oh were you stressing about this? Really???

I'd be upset. The nurse prob. isn't sensitive bc we live in such an impulsive world where we are used to getting immediate results. We used to have to wait until about 18 wks for gender results so she was prob. reacting like that, but who knows. In my case, they said not to call the office until I get an email. I am going to wait out the time they quoted me(7-10 bus. days) and if I don't hear then I will call.

I had mine drawn 12/19/13 and got results by 12/30/13. About six working days not including weekends and the holiday.

So I had to quickly come here and post after getting off phone with nurse for results of test. The actually had emailed me yesterday to tell me my bloodwork was in but I never recieved the email. I ironically called OBGYN to change a time on an appt. and I mentioned I was waiting and they put me through to a nurse. She was surprised I didnt get my emails. So like pp said, it might be worth a call if you've been waiting awhile. If I hadn't called I prob. would of waited until next week. So in the end it looks like it was about 5-6 bus. days when I was quoted 7-10. Good luck!

My genetic counselor told me that 3 of the 4 labs that do the test are in the Bay Area; and I think she said all of them are in CA. My package went overnight - so, barring crazy weather, it doesn't take too long to ship it.

Mine were done a few weeks before the NT scan and found out my results in roughly a week. From what I am learning on here, different doctors do different things at diff. times.
