Trying to Get Pregnant

Another Intro... TTC "Fun" with PCOS :)

Hi all :)

I have been off BCP since Dec 2012, but My husband and I have been actively TTC since July 2013. Unfortunately, my periods are/were wack. My third one after getting off BCP took 9 months, so I finally went to the OBGYN and was diagnosed with PCOS. It kind of sucks, but I went to an RE and now at least they've got me on a path to getting my body functioning how it should (hopefully). It also influenced some very positive lifestyle changes such as eating a healthy low gi diet with lots of veggies, and exercising more. I think the motivation to make those changes is a gift in itself... some people just have to learn the hard way! I'm not over or underweight really... but I have lost about 7-8 pounds (weigh about 135 now) since my diagnosis! I am hoping that eventually my body will function as it should naturally with these changes, but for now, I'm on my first cycle using Femara (2.5mg). I'm also taking progesterone now in my 2WW, as a precaution since my lining was 'coming along' but a little thinner than they'd want. I actually kind of like them despite the discharge... I sleep like a rock :) Anyway, 10 more days until test, and I'm going crazy researching and reading everything... so I thought I'd come here for moral support, distractions, anything to put my mind at ease and keep calm :) Anyone else in the two week wait and want to be cycle buddies?!

My husband and I married in May 2012. He has been great through all of this, and I actually think knowing about our cycles has improved our sex life. We just talk a lot more openly about it now which has gotten us talking about what we like/how we like it too (TMI?! hehe), and he understands the importance of BDing when I'm ovulating!! Good thing he's good under pressure... I think we both just really want our BFP :):)

Anyway, looking forward to making some virtual friends that I can share this journey with!!

Re: Another Intro... TTC "Fun" with PCOS :)

  • Thanks @LindsRockies! I already posted in the 2WW, but it's a big thread so thought I'd mention the cycle buddy thing in case anyone related specifically to my story/intro and wanted to message or PM me :)

  • @LindsRockies My original title was written because I was inspired to look for support during my 2WW not because I wanted to start a thread discussing it, but I changed it because it seemed to offend you all and I was trying to avoid 8 more people telling me that there is a 2WW thread... I am well aware. Furthermore, I have seen plenty of people change their titles on these boards after input from other posters as I've been lurking for a while. I'm sorry if you felt like my changing my title made you look bad or something - I feel like our interaction was fine, and you don't have to worry about that. Now please stop nitpicking at everything that do - I'm looking to start conversations about what I've said or with anyone else who relates and has a story of their own. If you have a problem with something I've done, I assure you that I have good attentions and am not trying to make anyone feel bad, and I would appreciate a little understanding.

  • @LindsRockies I am not in a "twist"; I am trying to explain why I changed my title... the first 3 responses I got were people telling me to post in 2WW thread, so I changed it cause I figured people were "offended" that I wasn't posting in the correct thread.... I have seen people "offended" by that act many times, even though people usually mean no harm with their posts. Perhaps offended was not the right word, whatever, sorry, no harm was meant

Is there any way to return to the original intention of this post or am I now a TTGP pariah because of misinterpreted semantics? :)

  • LOL. Sounds like you'll fit right in. 8-|
  • Welcome! I hope to join you in 2WW soon.

On a side note, I noticed your Countdown to Pregnancy ticker in your siggy. FYI, since implantation can't occur any earlier than day 7, any symptoms you experience before that won't have anything to do with pregnancy. Don't let it mess with your mind.

  • @MmmPopcorn Haha, thank you!! I just thought the little factoids were kind of fun on that ticker, but I'm not taking it too seriously. That's one good thing about being on progesterone. I don't really think about any phantom symptoms :)

  • Everyone told you to go to the 2ww thread because no one wants to read a million threads on symptoms and how hard the 2ww is. If we wanted to read about it, we would read the 2ww thread. Changing your title and post ("cycle buddies" is now "virtual friends") will not fool any of the regulars.

  • @GoaliesWife123 cycle buddies is still in my original post which you just quoted, as well as virtual friends. It says edited, because I changed the title as I already explained twice. Are you all done yet?
