Is anyone here trying for a boy or girl specifically? We will start ttgp with #4 once my cycle becomes regular again (just stopped the pill this month). We want a healthy baby regardless of course
I've never heard of any tried and true methods for conceiving a specific gender. I would be interested to know the science behind something like that. To answer your question, no I am not trying for a specific sex.
Oh yeah I hear you, we just want a baby too but my older boys really want a sister and I'd like to experience that mother/daughter relationship. We will see, I am just focusing on temping now and will see where it takes us. I do realize many couples have trouble ttc and this post was not meant to stir any neg comments or responses. We all want healthy babies

This Shettles dude seems to think that the boy swimmers swim fast and die sooner and the girl swimmers swim slowly and live longer, so to have a girl you should have sex a few-couple days before O and to have a boy you should just have sex on the day of O.
He also thinks that the boy or girl swimmers (don't remember which) prefer an acidic vs alkaline environment, so he suggests eating certain foods that are supposed to make the PH of your vag more pleasant to hang out in for the gender swimmer that you want to succeed.
Hocum? Maybe. 50/50 chance? More likely. Just try for a healthy baby and love whomever you birth!

I get what you're saying here, but kind of hoping for a girl is a lot different that trying for one specifically.
The American Society for Reproductive Medicine has methodically and thoroughly researched the method. It is 100% bullshit. Shettles was either incredibly delusional, stupid, or out for money.
There is a website called in-gender and they are obsessed with "swaying" for a certain gender, whether it's high tech or at home, natural methods. They have forums and the women on there do get quite involved with getting pregnant with a certain gender. They follow certain diets, take multiple supplements and other more extreme methods. I never could see myself doing something like that but if that's what makes them happy, good for them. I feel like any baby is a blessing though, and after my m/c I will just be happy to hold my alive baby in my arms. Good luck to you though.
As this (when we get pregnant) will be my #2 and final baby due to health issues, I will say as I am secretly hoping for a sister to DS, we will welcome any little bundle with open arms. To be honest I wanted another boy, DS keeps asking for a sister however. So either or is a blessing

However, my 8 year old nephew asked me when I'm having "children" and specified that he'd like it if I had a girl because he already has 3 boy cousins. I told him I'd take that under advisement.
