I think it's masculine-sounding. If I have to choose, I'd prefer it on a boy, but I don't care for it much either way.

I think it is masculine sounding name but only picture it in girls. Does that even make sense?! I don't like it. Makes me think of potatoes.

i like it-so much so that we were going to name bonusbaby tatum if a girl, but then i was thinking about nicknames and tate just sounds really hard to me, more like a boy than a girl. so i gave up on it for us. and my daughter is a finn! but we call her finnie, so that seems more unisex.

but i think of tatum o'neal, have never taught one in seven years and never met another child in either of the two schools my kids go to. which instantly ups its appeal, at least to me.
