Biting babies

Has anyone's LO taken to biting more than just a passing finger or an accidental nip bite? K is 9 months old and while visiting my in-laws this week he was really mommy centric. He kept turning away from some of the hands that wanted to hold off him and burying his face in my shoulder, sinking in with all 4 of his fab teeth! Tonight he was playing with my husband's ankles and feet and tried to chomp down on both. Any ideas on how to curb his chewy appetite?

    ahhh yes.  DS loves to bite anything that comes within inches of his face. He doesn't seem to care what it is he just chomps down on it.

    I have been wondering this too!!!! J will stop chomping on his teething keys (ahem, @botanicalbliss) and grab my arm to bite it!!!! It's crazy!

    He still loves his teething toys. I thought it was just b/c there were upteen new people trying to hold him and he didn't want to go but once he went after my husband's feet/ankles I wondered if this is another wonder week or phase we just have to distract until it passes.

    Yes! My LO bit my arm randomly the other night and it hurt so bad! He also tries to bite my shoulder. I am hoping this phase passes soon.

    yeah my LO is a biter and sometimes I swear he growls a bit when he bites...(very animalistic) he is otherwise quite the sweetie!

    I'm firmly against biting babies--even if they bite first.

    I just ignore it and (try) to not react. I think it's probably a stage, just like sticking their tongue out or something. Then I try to distract her with something else.
