Kansas Babies

Reproductive Endocrinologist/ Costs

I have been going to Dr. Gehlbach in  the  Olathe area for a while now.  My DH and I have been thinking about switching to a different RE in the Kansas City area.  I am wondering if there are any recommendations you all can give me?  Also, we are doing injectables. Is there any pharmacy companies that have worked well for you?  How were the prices? I would appreciate any input that you could give us.

Re: Reproductive Endocrinologist/ Costs

  • We used The KU Center for Advanced Reproductive Medicine (at College and Nall) and have been really happy with them. I can't help as far as injectables go, we were just doing letrozole with trigger/iui. We had success on our 2nd IUI...fingers crossed it'll be our take home baby! Good luck!!

  • I ran out of fertility prescription coverage part way through my third cycle. I've been getting my fertility specific prescriptions fulfilled through Freedom Fertility. Granted the drugs are expensive by nature, but I find Freedom to be very reasonable. Their site has functionality enabling you to quote your prescriptions before ordering, so you can compare their cost to say your local pharmacy first. With your first order, they'll set you up with their HeartPlus Pharmacy Savings Card.

  • I'm going to RRC, Dr. Celeste Brabec at OP Regional. There is a pharmacy in the office building the stocks all their fertility meds :)

I just got released from RRC to start seeing my primary OB/GYN this week. Perry Drugs is convenient, but the prices can be high. I'd definitely check out Freedom Fertility, if you have limited or no coverage for fertility medication.
