I think we should start a sticky thread with our name choices, and it's first come, first serve.

Rules:

You cannot steal the same name for the same position in the name (no two Michaels as the first name).

You may take a first name and use it as a middle name, and vice versa.

No editing allowed. Pick a name and stick with it, no wishy washiness.

People who pick Youneeke spellings will henceforth be shunned.

Always QFP.

Honestly you can't claim a name (as all other PPs said). DH and I chose Maximus for a boy (not common at all) and my cousin says "you're kidding that's the name DH wants to use if we have a boy, now I can't use it!" I was like uhhhhhh WHY NOT? Honestly I think it's amusing that two cousins would pick the same uncommon name. And she lives in Kansas. Name claiming is silly.

Clearly, I missed a lot while I was busy...

There were five girls in my kindergarten with my name. My brother had a GF with my name. It's also DH's boss's middle name. Interestingly, my classmates, brother's GF, DH's boss and I have all lived through the experience with nobody minding and not even much confusion!

You're lucky we are having a girl. Isaac was going to be our boy name. I have no idea what we are going to name our girl. I REALLY like Quinn, but it will not work with our last name b/c it's one syllable and also starts with a hard K sound and ends with an m. It would sound horrible together.

We had a boys name picked out too. Andrew William. But we are having a girl and having a hard time coming up with a name. DH likes Kailey Elizabeth. I'm starting to warm up to it. BTW, these names are taken. Don't even think about using these!!

I'm back to the drawing board myself. My mother decided that she wasn't ok with me using my brother's name for a girl or at all, afterall. I've had Harrison picked out since week 8 or so for a boy, but here lately it's been irritating me. If I have to hear one more person say, "Harry, you're naming your baby Harry? Seriously?" I may cut a bitch! Then my baby will be deemed "Infant of inmate number 8675309"...

I should have just continued telling everyone that it's name will be baby Sheldon Cooper.
