poop

Hi moms,

So last week while LO was diagnosed with RSV we found that he has his top 4 teeth starting to head down. He's super swollen and fussy, obviously,  however has anyone found that their baby has more poops????
It seems that almost every diaper has been poop in the past 48hrs. It's not diarrhea or runny. I have not changed anything in his diet or introduced new foods.

Re: poop

  • My LO had RSV at the beginning of January and she went through the same thing with her poops. She pooped so much! Like you said, it seemed like it was every diaper, but it wasn't diarrhea. She ended up getting a nasty and painful rash on her bottom, too. So, it could be the RSV and not necessarily the teething causing it. Although you said he was diagnosed last week...the excessive poops lasted about the first five days of her illness, which was the whole time she had a fever. Is he still running a fever or really sick?

  • Really, huh, he only had a really mild case though. His fever never went over 100 and it's been a week yesterday and his wheezingfinally stopped Sunday. Didn't give him a breathing treatment at all yesterday and seems fine. Still on antibiotic for ear infection though.

I never thought it could be the virus!!!

  • Sounds like your LO is on the mend from his RSV, which is great! If he's about over his illness, then I would guess the change in his poops would be more from teething then, but I am certainly no expert. I just know what my LO experienced. Once she was on the mend, her bowel movements returned to normal.
