Two weeks of making these and I finally get to contribute. My a/s is at 2:30 EST followed by my regular monthly check up. Still holding out for Team Green! My will is strong!
I have a monthly appt at 5:20pm EST. DH is coming along and will get to hear the heartbeat for the first time! :x I love that he's super excited about it, too.
I have my bi-weekly MFM ultrasound and OB appt back to back. These days are llooooonnnggg. I am hoping that at the ultrasound, the tech will actually *show* me that my babies are girls, because before, the attending doctor just came in and told me based on the report. I know it is silly but I want to see for myself :-).
We have our a/s at 1:00 CST today!!! Hoping to see a healthy baby GIRL like we saw 4 weeks ago. As long as the baby is healthy though, I'm a happy mommy!!
First Ob appt today at 230! Of course I have been freaking out all week cause this lil bugger slowed down kicking the past few days and I swear my belly is getting smaller! Lol.. Hubby says it's all in my head. Looking forward to getting pricked and prodded with a smile.. This has been long awaited. Fingers crossed they are rendy for me and don't make me wait long to schedule a/s
I have my monthly appointment this afternoon at 4:15 EST. I'm hoping they start measuring soon in addition to listening to the heartbeat. I'm curious! Today I will schedule my last monthly appointment, then I get to go more often!
I had my monthly checkup today. My normal OB called in today so I met with the midwife. I was not overly thrilled at the outcome. All is great with baby. Baby measures well. Heartbeat is good. But I was talking to her about the symptom's I've been having and asked about heartburn medication. She told me to take the medication my OB told me not to take in the beginning. When I mentioned she had told me not to, she said that all doctors are different and I'm perfectly ok to take it.
On top of that, I have a lump in my breast which I was hoping my doctor could check out but the midwife ended up doing it and I have to go back and see the midwife next week again for a follow-up to make sure it doesn't get any worse. She doesn't seem to be concerned at all. She thought it was either a blocked milk duct or a fatty cyst.
I'm definitely uneducated on what a midwife's background is vs an OB because I've never even considered using a midwife. Can anyone using a midwife enlighten me on if I should request to see my OB instead of the midwife next week or if I'm perfectly fine seeing the midwife. Thanks in advance and I certainly don't want to offend anyone using a midwife. Like I said, I'm just uneducated on what type of schooling is required to be a midwife.

@ADalesa29 - FTM here too, but at some point I BELIEVE they start to measure the fundal height(?) which is suppose to match with how many weeks you are.
A/s scan was at 8:45am EST. We are having a baby boy! Everything measured healthy! The only thing the tech mentioned is that my placenta seemed a little low. She also did an internal ultrasound to determine how far away the placenta is from my cervix. She didn't seem concerned by the distance considering the placenta will only get farther away as my uterus expands. Guess I will be talking to the midwife at my next appointment about any other implications.
@Kinipela7 I read somewhere that they sometimes don't start until 20 weeks but it appears you are past that, so I would just ask. I haven't been measured yet, either, but I'm a few weeks behind you.
@crhein26 , Some midwives have more training than others. I am personally seeing a team of all midwives. That being said, I think if I were you, I would still ask to switch your appointment to the OB just for continuity. It is confusing to get advice from two different sources.
@Kinipela7 & @babygabe614, in my experience they don't measure until 24 weeks. At 20 weeks they are looking for your fundus to be right at your belly button so they will probably just feel for that.

They did not measure me at my 20 week appointment, however he did look at my belly and said looks like it was good. I'm 24 weeks today so maybe today they really will measure! I'm hoping they do and then hope they tell me I'm measuring ahead because I feel HUGE
Two good appointments today! First at the MFM, I learned that my cervix is measuring good and strong (and long, like it should be). Since this was my first appt that I was after the "magic" 18 week mark, the tech actually attempted to SHOW me that I was having girls. I don't think she remembered that two weeks ago, they told me with great certainty that I was having two girls (though I did not see what they were looking at for myself), so she was more in a "guessing" mode today. Today, Baby A had a cord between her legs, so the tech said "I can't say for sure, but it looks like a girl to me if I had to guess. I have no reason to believe it is a boy." Baby B is definitely still a girl; I saw three white lines. I am 95% sure there are two girls in there :-).
The funny things is always watching them interact with each other. Even though they are in separate sacks, they are still very close and can touch each other through the membrane. My baby A was just hanging out feet down with the cord between her legs and hands up by her face, while the other one was laying horizontal on her back (like perpendicular), kicking A in the face. Sibling rivalry starts already!
With the OB, we talked about my headaches more and other little random things. I really like this OB the best, and am leaning toward choosing him to deliver, especially if I end up with a c-section. He is a surgeon and robotics expert, so he is one I would totally trust with a c-section.
Thanks for the info @erind228 and @Kinipela7! I am a bit off with the timing of my appts - I have one tonight (I'm 18.5 weeks) so my next will be around 22 weeks. I will ask tonight if they are going to start measuring at the next one.
Fundal height can be measured starting at 20 weeks, doesn't mean all providers will. Mine measured at 16w and I just laughed b/c I know he was just measuring fat.
I had my monthly check up today. Was told that they found a cyst on the baby's heart. We are now being referred to a high risk OB for a detailed ultrasound to make sure it isn't trisomy 18....kinda freaking out.
I had my anatomy scan two weeks ago....tomorrow morning I have a fetal echocardiogram. I'm nervous because I was pregnant last summer with a boy who had a medley of serious heart defects. That pregnancy was lost at 17 weeks. Feeling hopeful this time....I am 22 weeks tomorrow and so far so good. I am feeling her more and more every day, despite my anterior placenta!
Anyone else notice more movement late at night? She seems to do a lot of flips while I am trying to sleep.
@beaarthur4 - I do notice more movement late at night but I think it is because I am finally still and I still don't have a big enough bump that prevents me from rolling onto my stomach. When I accidentally do, I get a solid kick.
Appt went well - HB is 143 and they did the fundal measurement and it was spot on 24 weeks. Got my glucose solution and get to look forward to drinking that for my next appointment. Already have that appointment scheduled as well as the one TWO weeks after that! Ahhhhh!
Update: so. We did ivf. We know my due date. We know exactly when the egg fertilized. According to that...I'm 19w3d.....according to the ultrasound today... LO has a torso that measures 22w3d, head at 20w3d and arms & legs at 21w5d. Everything else is perfect. Heart, brain, kidneys, chord, cervix all look perfect.
MFM says I'm showing signs of GD due to large torso. But 10 week glucose was perfect. She said there's the chance too that he's just going to be a huge baby. Already weighs a pound!!! Will redo glucose in a few weeks and another Ultrasound at 24 weeks.
