Re: AW your Pinterest/crafty projects for the baby

  • @snow527, I made virtually the same thing!! What a great idea, huh?

  • I stretched fabric over canvas for above his changing table :)
  • Pic 1- rag quilt about 90% compete, with my lovely assistant-Hector (doxie-poo)
Pic 2- yarn wrapped letter for Eli or Ellie :)
    Pic 3-cosleeper sheet
    Pic 4- my "moby" wrap
  • Umm I haven't made anything for the baby. Is that bad? My cousin is in the process of making the bedding and pillows for the chair though!

You ladies are very talented! Wish I had some of your creativity.

  • I posted these on the crafty mom's Monday check in, but I'll share them here too since it's a wider audience :)

First pic is a lamb silhouette I hand-cut and the stripes I painted. The stripes are the same as the stripes on the bedding (as you can see).

Second pic is some more paper crafts I did.  I'm doing a frame collage so I had several frames to fill.  The lamb is just a bunch of buttons hot glued into the shape (not sure how well you can see it), the LOVE is hand-cut, and the Bible verse I just typed on MS Word.

Third pic is my bow/headband holder like snow527's!  I agree that it was easy to make, just kinda monotonous!  Drilling the holes and screwing in the hooks was definitely the worst part!

So excited to put everything together on the walls.  I'm nearly done with the nursery--just want to sew a pillow cover (which is a lot for me because I don't sew and don't have a sewing machine).

  • @amymheidecker My balls (lol) are 10 sheets. I messed up 3 so maybe get a few extra packs. Hobby lobby is where I found mine. About $1 for 10 sheet packs.I found the more folds you can make the better and the big balls were harder to fill but I just worked with what I made. The smaller ones turned out better. They are a bitch to hang.
@amymheidecker Exactly this.  I got mine at hobby lobby too!  There are great tutorials on YouTube.  Make sure you string your pom while it's still folded up before you start "poufing" it because it's a nightmare to string once it's a full blown pom.  Good luck!

@BethB82 Can I ask where you got your curtains? That's exactly what I'm looking for!
  • My curtains came from pottery barn. A little pricey but the fabric is awesome and they are black out lined!
  • These are the latest I've done. Fabric bunting with leftover fabric, I painted the mustache chevron painting and did the alphabet picture in ms word, the Black and Tan chevron just had wire added with clips so I could clip pictures. I'll post the other pictures in a second.

I am really bad at DIY so I'm proud of this alphabet wall I made for above the crib

    Are these letters from JoAnn's??

  • I said the same thing to my DH!
  • They are from hobby lobby they are the unfinished paper mâché letters. I painted the sides and the front is scrapbook paper also hobby lobby. Original credit goes to Pinterest
  • @amyheidecker I used a whole packet of tissue paper per ball. The packets I used had 8 sheets. I found the tutorial here: https://johnsonfamily23.blogspot.com/2011/05/pretty-pom-poms-ive-wanted-to-make.html Just make sure you have sharp scissors for the ends and pull up gently. I did not have to buy any extra or start over on any of them. I thought I would f it up because the paper is so delicate but I didn't. I hung them with thread and the small, clear 3M hooks.

@Sanibel21 I used a combo of tutorials I found online. I just looked up how much fabric I needed and then went from there. I mostly followed this one: https://momommamoney.blogspot.com/2011/07/sewing-diy-car-seat-cover-canopy.html

Sorry it took me a bit to get back.

I have a million crafts going! I need to spray paint to finish several which hasn't happened due to the weather. This is the mobile I made for her room. The color isn't right in the photo but you get the idea :)
