Agree with all you ladies about the holidays being a rough time not to have a glass of something! Also brunch- here in Southern California it's been sunny and warm and it's just a shame not to have a mimosa in hand on the weekend. Le sigh.

Has anyone tried non alchoholic beer? Is it worth it?
Try Erdinger Weissbier or Kaliber by Guinness. The main difference with a NA beer is that you get a lot more of the malty or "bready" flavors, so a Weiss or a Guinness absorb that taste the best. The other important thing to remember: DO NOT SMELL the beer as you drink it. just sip and put the glass down, THEN breathe. The taste isn't bad, it's usually the smell that'll getcha. Oh, and if those first two aren't readily available near you, O'douls Amber isn't half bad.
@mrsgerman - sorry to hear that! Too bad it couldn't have happened in May instead. GL!
I'm not a big drinker anyway, but I do enjoy certain wines with certain foods and an occasional g&t or brandy. I'm not actively abstaining and if at any point I feel like it I would be comfortable having a moderate amount of alcohol. But it smells really odd to be right now. Kind of like a very acidic and chemical cough syrup. Definitely not appealing. I miss enjoying it though, and when we had people over and they told me how amazing the Rioja (which I really like) was I felt I was missing out. I really hope the aversion will go away. I have the same thing with coffee too
I have a ton right now. Currently I am working 60+ hours a week (go tax season) and we just moved over the weekend. Add a sick DS and this momma needs a drink...stat! Lol...I shall survive
There are some days I reallllly miss a glass of red wine or a good craft beer...especially terribly long an rough nights at work. I honestly used to relax after a crappy night at work with wine and ice cream for breakfast...only ice cream for now! I seriously told the hubs I'm planning on bringing wine in my hospital bag

I am finding I am craving EVERYTHING summer. I want summer fruit, summer food (BBQ steaks and hot dogs and hamburgers) and summer drinks! I would KILL to have a beergarita.. Or margarita on the rocks, some gin and tonic with lime, I want hot hot weather and ice cold drinks! I want to be at my lake basking in the sun! Here's my summer view so you know what I'm talking about!!
Looks like we know where the party will be! Don't forget to send invites!
I miss wine when I see other people drinking it. I miss it when I'm cooking and I miss it with a good meal. I miss it to unwind. Wine, you are not gone forever, I shall have you again. This I promise...
When we go out to dinner and everyone else is drinking I will order a "mock tail" the servers have all been really helpful with suggesting fun nonalcoholic drinks so I'm not stuck with boring water all the time. Typically the drinks will have some type of muddled fruit, they have all been delish!
At a Mexican restaurant I ordered a nonalcoholic margarita and the server looked at me and said "but that doesn't have tequila in it" LOL uh yes thank you I get that haha
I don't usually crave alcohol, but after a week and a half of indoor recess, that has changed! Give me a tall cranberry and vodka with an extra shot or a tall angry orchard-something! I'll be waiting til post-pregnancy.
My students. I love my job as a HS teacher & coach, but man-o-freakn-man can those teenagers push my buttons sometimes. Can't wait until I can wash down my crazy days with a cold glass of white wine.
You ladies all make me feel so much better because I was beginning to feel like an alchoholic by how much I was craving a drink. I just got home from the biggest music trade show this past weekend - it was such a different experience not going out for drinks with everyone each night...I went back to the hotel after dinner and got a nice ice cream bar from the hotel gift store...not the same but it did the trick!
Re: For those abstaining, what makes you want a big ole drinkie?!
