1st off- NO judgment to the ladies that have the occasional adult beverage!

I am not drinking at all while pregnant, and I haven't craved alcohol at all. Until last night. I was snowed in, curled up on the couch watching the Grammys, and realized that a glass (or two!) of red wine sounded perfect! Then I realllly craves it! So it got me thinking- has anyone else who isn't drinking had any circumstances of "oh man I want a drink right now soooo bad?!" Happy, sad, mad, bored, fun, random occasions- all apply!!!
Re: For those abstaining, what makes you want a big ole drinkie?!
I'm not new. I just hate The Bump.
Fridays. I always just want to open up a craft beer after work on fridays. The holidays and egg nog made me really want it also. When my H and I get in a huge fight. Or any time we stay in and have a lazy night and just watch a movie I just want wine.
I asked friends who were preg before if they missed drinking, and they always said no, it's so easy, I don't even think about it. I call BS.
I call BS too!
I was also going to answer Fridays. After a long week, I'd love to go out and get a nice martini with dinner. Screw the wine and beer, I'm going straight for vodka!
For me, more than anything I just miss the ritual.
I would come home, make dinner, do a little housework, and then around 8 or so pour a nice big glass of wine and settle in for the night to read or watch some tv. It was just a nice way to separate the "crap I gotta do" part of the day from the "i can just chill out and relax" part.
And I miss it. I miss it bad.

--Watching reality TV, especially the Bachelor. I still love it, but it's so much better with a glass of wine!
Like PP said, it's the ritual. I miss that the most!

Also, idk why but I've been craving red wine and I really REALLY don't like red wine at all, so it's so weird. That said, if I'm ever anywhere and get a whiff of it I'm immediately turned off and want to puke...nothing makes sense!

I will say I have had a few sips of wine here or there, but never a full glass. Even though my midwife says it's fine, I just think the negative stigma associated with it freaks me out. But, things that make me want to drink include, but are not limited to:
1. The holidays. Everyone in my family loves to celebrate, so there was always wine and beer. We usually do a mexican theme for Christmas Eve, complete with my dad's ah-mazing margaritas and I definitely missed them this year. Add to it all of our corporate holiday parties and I was a sad, sober pregnant lady for those couple weeks.
2. Vacation. Again, wine and beer every night, beer on the boat....my flavored sparkling water made me want to cry.
3. The Broncos being in the super bowl. So many football parties in the last few weeks, and this weekend we are going to several. My friends have already created the Broncos drinking game...I just want to take a drink every time Peyton Manning makes a "Manning face" like everyone else, damnit!
4. Delicious food. I am a huge fan of food/wine pairings, not to get drunk, just to enjoy the flavors and I miss planning big dinners with multiple courses and wine pairings.
That's a long list...I promise I'm not a raging alcoholic. Most days it really doesn't phase me.
3.
Guess I'll just have to settle for baking brownies with it so I can still get the taste

We visited a winery righ before I conceived. Brought home a case of EXCELLENT wine.
I got through one bottle before I found out I was KU. And now it sits there in the dining room. Silently mocking me.

That sucks. I'm so sorry.
Oh, and we're going to our favorite restaurant for Valentine's Day and knowing I can't drink like 4 of them has me depressed three weeks early, LOL.
Anything related to family makes me want a glass of wine. Neither side would flinch if I imbibed but even though it sounds appealing, my body does NOT want booze during pregnancy.
A few weeks before we conceived we took a trip to napa valley (we live in ny so this has been on our bucket list for while!). I can relate to @Luna C as there are bottles of wine burning holes in my wine rack as we speak. One of which was $70. I don't want to open them for a little glass bc it won't get finished before it goes bad.You can trust when I say those bottles will be popped as soon as I pop!!
@RedMar: I told my dude that I'm packing one of those bottles, a corkscrew and a glass in my hospital "go" bag.
He seems to think I was kidding.
And it's nasty
Edit: I should clarify that DH is not a huge drinker but loves his beer
