Was it hard to make?! I need to make one too! I glitterfied a letter to hang in her room, but we didn't have a theme sent in stone until last week so I haven't started any other projects yet.
I haven't made anything for baby yet, but I made this last week and decided I'm going to make her a banner like the one on this wreath, but with her name on it. I want to make a canvas for underneath it with that quote, "Let her sleep, for when she wakes, she will move mountains."
I have to wait until we move into the new apartment in a couple weeks (I'm going to scrub the place from top to bottom before we move anything in, focusing mainly on baby's room more than anywhere else) and have the baby shower before I actually start any of the crafts I have in mind. I don't know what anyone will give us/what we'll have to buy afterwards, and I don't want to jump the gun and have to take down something I'm proud of because it doesn't match the rest of what we have.
That being said, I want to use home made starch spray to stick fabric and/or paper decals to the walls. Probably Winnie the Pooh (that's the theme I've been in love with this entire time) and flowers because I ADORE flowers, year round. I want to do something like this picture, but maybe not butterflies.:)
I already posted this, but it's soo awesome seeing everyone else's. My daughters painted the two 5X7 canvases and we did the others together. It was a fun way to get them excited about baby Andrew. I love the personal touch. I do slightly miss doing all the fun Girly stuff , but the boy decor has surprised me too.
I made a car seat cover from a pattern I found on Pinterest and some poof balls from tissue paper. I've also made the valance and crib skirt but I found the patterns online. I plan to make some word art for her name once we figure out what it will be.
I made our twins this star mobile - (sorry its sideways I am on mobile and can't delete or edit it )and then created the twinkle twinkle prints on MS word and modged them to canvas!! My mom did the quilts, crib skirt, and crib protector!! Can't wait for these two to enjoy them
My husband and I made the letters above his bed. I also found a vinyl decal I wanted on Pinterest and had someone make it for us. My artistic abilities are almost nonexistent.

What did you use for the wire circle thing at the top of your mobile and where did you get it?
I've seen people use the needle point circles. I don't actually know what they are called
Ladies you've all made some very cute stuff!! Great job! Why are you not all in our crafty ladies check in each week?? We'd love to have you and share in your great crafts, pull inspiration from you all!! Think about it! ( ; @madapple
Married 11/23/11, TTC starting 10/12, BFP#1 11/30/12, Adoption of stepson finalized 03/19/13,Loss of our daughter at 20w4d due to incompetent cervix 03/27/13, BFP#2 06/28/13, DS2 born 3/1/14.
My husband made over our $10 craigs list changing table with chaulk paint. Got a little basket crazy but we dont have a dresser. Made the tissue balls, car seat cover, name banner for newborn prop (not quiiiiite done as we have 2 names still), couple of headbands im working on, i did sew the bed skirt but its just gray and I cried a lot. Lol
I used the green wire wreath circle and spray painted it white. Michaels was packed the day I went and l lost patience fast searching for a single circle but this way I could stagger the stars in and out more.
So many cute projects in this thread! My MIL made a TON of bunting as shower decorations, and I strung a bunch up in the nursery. I also made some decoupage/paint bird art that we finally hung above the cribs. I think DH might think these decorations look too busy, but I'm happy with how it turned out.

I'm hijacking, but it looks the the wire circle you would use when making a wreath.
My balls (lol) are 10 sheets. I messed up 3 so maybe get a few extra packs. Hobby lobby is where I found mine. About $1 for 10 sheet packs.I found the more folds you can make the better and the big balls were harder to fill but I just worked with what I made. The smaller ones turned out better. They are a bitch to hang.
I've done two knit blankets and multiple crochet hats.
I now am definitely making a headband/barette holder!
mamamia866 how did you get the shapes for your paper wall art?
novelblessingsjenniemac2000 or anyone who has done carseat covers... are there any patterns you followed? I've never sewn... are they hand sewn or machine sewn? Easy, moderate, hard?
I made his name with fabric, canvas' and cardboard letters. Stapled the fabric, spray painted the letters. Also made him another name creation for him as well.

I almost did post it in the crafty check-in but then got distracted and forgot last week.

The tissue pom poms. How many tissue paper packs did you need? I want to make some but don't want to keep running back and forth to the store!

It's really easy but I had change the measurements a bit because we have a larger carrier (graco 35) and I just glued the bows!
