I'm just curious. I know this motor skill is creeping up on us,but it hasn't happened yet. I can tell his back and legs are getting stronger, so it's just a matter of time. So, how many Nov 13 babies are now rolling?
DS rolled over for the first time at 1 month. I thought it was a fluke but then a week and a half later he was consistently rolling from belly to back.
My guy is nowhere close to that at 9 1/2 weeks. But...he wants to "stand" all the time, it's really strange. When he is sitting in my lap, he does squats pushing himself up into standing mode. It looks so funny because he thinks that's what he should be doing, and wants to hang out like that. I know it's not good for him to do it too much so I try to reduce it, and he gets pissed!! I know he needs to develop rolling ability, but I'm NOT ready for that. Seriously it scares me!
Adeline can lay on her stomach and suck her thumb really well. The only rolls she has are her thighs. She may have no interest in rolling, but if you talk to her she will coo your ear off.
DD rolled from belly to back at 1 month and does it consistently. DS was exactly the same & he started crawling at 6 months - I think DD is on the same schedule.

I'm just imagining the little cage fighter doing squats!! Lovvvveee it
And so these post begin. I hate this post. I feel like the "my baby is better then yours" post just make mama's doubt what they are doing.
Mamas don't worry; you're doing it all right.
I believe some of you ladies are misunderstanding what this thread is about. It is about sharing milestones, not about competition. I am tired of you directly going to the negative with harmless postings. Give me an effing break. I have been here since the beginning because I like being a part of an online community, and I feel like I have gotten to know a lot of you guys. People like to share, so step off and start some new fucking threads if you are not enjoying the ones that are started.
Oh, and I forgot to mention my LO rolled for the first time from tummy to back not two hours after I posted this discussion. It was fun because we were all playing as a family and got to share the moment together.
I agree with Ashley and cfox.... this type of post may lead to a type of "anything your kid can do mine can do better " thread... it may not have been the original intention of the OP, but it can easy get there...
FWIW, our LO just earned his PhD in quantum-physics :-)
This kind of post is equivalent to a "how much weight did you gain so far?!" post. Don't get all huffy puffy, if you know this board so well, then you should know that we tell it like it is. Reg or not.
Every thread has the potential to go in any direction just based on the amount of women that are on this site. FTMs will worry about their babies, STMs will worry about their babies, TTMs will worry about their babies, and on and on. Sharing milestones will be something I post about, that won't change. Women who are worried about their babies and post about it will get encouragement and support from me, no matter what they post about. I have my own worries. That won't change just because of threads from strangers on an open online community. One thing I will never do is intentionally bring women down like some of you enjoy doing. Again, this is not a competition. It's about sharing. It is what we, as women, enjoy doing. This post is harmless, move on to something else.

You don't get it, do you? There are women on here who have LEGIT concerns about their babies and seeing posts like this one is like a slap in the face to them.
Awesome! Just another post to remind me that my daughter will develop slower than other babies because of her heart condition. Thanks for that.
Wow. I have supported and prayed for you and your baby on this site with the hardships you have been going through. This is in no way a showing up of what my kid has been doing faster than yours. My heart has gone out to you, and your family and will continue to. My best friend had a daughter two days before me, and she also has a heart condition. My cousin had open heart surgery when he was three. It is not something I take lightly.

I greatly appreciate that. I'm not trying to be mean. I'm just trying to tell you how I feel.
Yes, I do get it. I understand legitimate concerns. I didn't post this thread to slam those moms. I equally support ALL moms on this site and in real life with ALL of the legitimate concerns as well as the legitimate happy moments. The charity I donate most to is St. Jude's. Children are close to my heart. I am just sharing here people. This post wasn't even directed at myself as much as it was to other moms, so how can this be such an AW post? Really, people. ETA - I have never even posted a picture of my child here. AW is not how I roll. (pun intended).
This is what Sophia does whenever she's on her tummy sooooo I'm sure she'll be rolling soon and it'll purely be out of hatred for tummy time.
Also....cool your jets, OP.
I have been put on the defensive. My feathers are ruffled. I can't cool my jets when my feathers are ruffled. And stop calling me OP people. I am no stranger here.
Let's just say that when we are so familiar with each other, OP can quite easily be replaced with a screen name.....just like when you get to know someone in real life you call someone by their name not, "Hey, you." but that's just me I guess.

This is actually the first time I remember reading something of yours - for whatever reason - so I think I'm okay still calling you OP, okay?
I'm also curious as to what you thought would happen in response to your initial post. "Just curious"? Please. The only reason to ask that particular question is so you can compare your baby's progress with that of other babies'. That's not really "sharing" as you claim.
Either you're anxious about your baby's development - which the tone of your post doesn't suggest - or you think your baby is doing great, and are wanting to confirm that for yourself. I can't imagine a reason to post something like that if you think your baby's just average.
"Oh, my baby poops. Do your babies poop?" See how stupid that sounds? Well, that's because babies poop - it's no big deal. Your posting about rolling suggests that you think this is important somehow, because if it were no big deal as you claim, you wouldn't bother asking about it.
Just own your desire to talk about how awesome your baby is. We all think our babies are awesome, so I don't know why you need outside validation. No need to be coy and passive-aggressive while AWing - just post a picture of your cute little munchkin and move on.

Re: Who's LO is rolling?
ETA: DD did not roll until 5 months... so this was a huge deal for us!

Thank you both so much. Made me cry, actually.
