Is he biting you? DD bites my shoulder when she is overtired or otherwise disgruntled. I immediately put her down. I say, "Biting hurts," and turn away for a moment. She usually starts sobbing the second I put her down, not tantrum-crying, more like devastation. I figure she only needs a few seconds of feeling that to get the idea, so I pick her up and tend to the primary need--bed, food, water, whatever--that caused the behavior.
She has not (to my knowledge) bitten anyone except me, so of course the response would be different if she bit someone else.
