Trying to Get Pregnant

Questions to ask

Hi everyone,

My husband and I are making a list for my doctor of questions we want answers before I get pregnant.  Does any of you have any questions you wished you asked your doctor before you got pregnant?  Input is appreciated!

I asked how long it would take to come down off all my meds and how to manage my health conditions without meds.

Why are you going to the doctor before you're pregnant?
Son: Jackson, 11/02/06, stillborn due to PPROM and IUGR. Over the next ten years we had 9 miscarriages from 8-14 weeks. On May 18, 2016 my daughter, Ridley, was born. We're OADNBC.

  • Actually, unless you have any medical history you are worried about, a pre-conception appointment really isn't necessary. Everything your doc could tell you can be found here. I found it to be a waste of time.

  • I have zero questions for my doctor until I'm pregnant. Pre conception appointments are unnecessary unless you've got a pre existing condition, as someone said above.

I'm going to going to get my IUD removed.  Also managing my health without my meds is one of my questions…thanks EllyD14 :-)

  • Ditto PP. I just asked how long I had to wait to TTC after the removal and she said I could start right away. The whole thing lasted like 5 minutes. She said have fun and sent me on my way. There wasn't really anything else to discuss.
