Have you picked a name(s) yet? Yes. Our baby girl is Emery Elizabeth.

Did you and your H agree right away, or did you go through a lot of options? We went through so many options. I really wanted to have a boy and girl name picked before the A/S so once we knew the sex, we could say he/she instead of baby/it. But we barely agreed on anything! Its a miracle we found something we both love.

Are you planning to share your name with friends/family, or wait till they're born? I already have shared it with whoever asks. I love monogramed stuff and I have a lot of crafty friends who want to incorporate that into gifts.

Is there any meaning behind your names, or just something you liked? Emery is just a name we liked. We wanted something different but not too weird or unique. My aunt suggested Emery and we both just really like the sound of it. I don't know why but it just seemed to fit our baby. Elizabeth is my middle name and my great-grandmothers name. Its a family thing so I wanted to keep it in there.

Have you received any suggestions from people? If so, what were they? Oh yes. FIl suggested Ragnar for a boy. My dad suggested Terragon for a boy. Nope, not making this up. My DH's Grandmother suggest Mary Margaret for a girl. Um no.

We were set on Pepper from the beginning for a boy or a girl. Then we "thought" (long story) we were having a girl and we picked Pepper Grace. I was so in love with the name. After our A/S we are having a boy and I just couldn't get on board with Pepper anymore

basically I'm saving for next time around if we have a girl. Then DF come up with John Ryder. John is a family name and DF name is Ryan so it went well. After I agreed but only if we call him Ryder. So we are telling people his name is Ryder. Family and close friends know his full name but I went to school with 3 johns and there were only 15 people in my class. Way to many!

Did you and your H agree right away, or did you go through a lot of options? Went through a few. DH and i have the same initials so we knew we wanted the baby to have to same so we went through limited options

Are you planning to share your name with friends/family, or wait till they're born? Sharing, if its a girl the first name will be June after my great grandma (also my middle name) and the middle name will be Janet after my grandmother. If its a boy it will be Jace, sort of after DH and middle name John same as DH's and also his uncle/godfather

Is there any meaning behind your names, or just something you liked? Like i said above all family names

Have you received any suggestions from people? If so, what were they? Nope. Although my mother and gma had lots of input on what NOT to choose lol

@cristykaye, my H's first name is John, but he's always gone by his MN too. It was kind of funny when we sent our wedding invites out (we used both our full names) and a lot of my family were like "um...who's John?" because they'd only ever been introduced to him by his MN.

I'm sure we will run into some of this but I don't think it will be to big of a deal hopefully! And my DF really wants to call him junior but doesn't actually want him to be a junior. He's a goob!! I will still call him Ryder. Lol

Yeah, it hasn't been much of a big deal for him. It's pretty easy to explain just by saying "Hey, I'm John Ryder, but I go by Ryder" and that's it. And he only has to do that in formal situations like school or work where his full name is listed. In social situations he just says "Hey, I'm Ryder".

Are you going to make the final choice before or after birth? likely before unless we reach a stale-mate.

Did you and your H agree right away, or did you go through a lot of options? we never agree at first. ugh. our age difference totally shows in the naming process.

Are you planning to share your name with friends/family, or wait till they're born? last time we did not share because we were hoping once people saw our baby, any negative comments would fall to the wayside. fat chance. we still got a ton of grief. this time i think we will announce it and just own it. screw everyone's opinion; they have their own chances.

Is there any meaning behind your names, or just something you liked? i am a big civil war buff so i loved lincoln. his middle names are family names. ironically, our second favorite name was always Abram. now, obviously we couldn't knowingly saddle a potential seconds on with that type of "uniqueness" with lincoln but it makes me sad we can't use it, even though it isn't technically "abraham."

Have you received any suggestions from people? If so, what were they? i am not the type to welcome unsolicited advice, period, so no suggestions have come our way. phew!

Have you picked a name(s) yet? Yes. It took a while to figure it out. I usually like to have the names chosen before the AS.

Are you going to make the final choice before or after birth? Probably not. I think we are pretty set.

Did you and your H agree right away, or did you go through a lot of options? It took us some time. We originally planned on Evangeline but when we found out it was twins, we were thrown for a loop. He came up with the idea to turn it into two names: Eva and Angelina. Which was brilliant. Until I googled it and Eva Angelina is a porn star :-( He said it really wasn't a big deal since she probably be no longer remembered in 5-10y from now anyways. It bugged me too much so we started searching for other names. None seemed to be quite just right. So we came full circle. I said that we just need to refer to them as Angeline and Eve that way there is less of an association.

Are you planning to share your name with friends/family, or wait till they're born? No, we will probably share now. I am pretty sure DH told everyone already anyways.

Is there any meaning behind your names, or just something you liked? Yes, Eve means life and Angeline means messenger angel. Together they mean good news.

Have you received any suggestions from people? If so, what were they? Our close friends helped us pick our boy names (William and Theodore) but we won't get to use those.

Is there any meaning behind your names, or just something you liked? First name no. Middle name is H's grandpa's name. He was very close to him.

No, we are waiting to find out the gender before me make a decision. But I do have a few options in my mind, mostly for girls.

Hopefully before, but I do want to have a second option in case we have a change of heart after we meet him/ her.

We are not in the same boat at all, so I'm just going to give him a list of my favorites so he can choose one from there.

Are you planning to share your name with friends/family, or wait till they're born? I was going to, but after hearing some of their comments in a couple of names I shared I decided I don't want to turn it into a debate. I'm gonna wait until he is born, maybe only my mom will know.

Is there any meaning behind your names, or just something you liked?
For boys I would like to use Ruben as a middle name, which is the name of my grandpa, my dad and my brother. My other choices are just names I like but I'm trying to choose one that sounds right in English and also in Spanish so our families back in our countries can pronounce them.

Have you received any suggestions from people?
If so, what were they? Not many, just jokes from my brother and my cousins. One suggested we should blend our names and create a unique new name for the baby, a la Brangelina lol.

Girl he agreed. Boy, like I said, we're still debating. My only requirement is that is be "classic" - nothing trendy or weird.

First names are more just names we like. If it's a girl, she'll have my middle name. If it's a boy his middle name will probably be either DH's middle name or some other family member's name on his side.

Not really. My MIL has thrown out some names, but they're all way too trendy for my taste.

Yes, we have her name picked out already! If she had been a boy, we would have a handful of options yet. She will be Ariadne Lorraine.

A boy would have been after the birth most likely - but our girl name was solid for both of us.

Our girl name was easy! Boy names, not so much... It was a struggle finding ones we both agreed on.

Only with immediate family and maybe a friend or two before the birth.

Is there any meaning behind your names, or just something you liked?
The first name has always been a favorite name of mine, I remember it from a children's book when I was a kid and we wanted something uncommon but not made-up. SO fell in love with it immediately when I brought it up and it was over from there! Her middle name is my mother's name. SO's mom already has two kids named after her elsewhere in the family, so there was no issue with worrying about her being jealous. Ariadne will be the first grandchild on my side.

Other than my mom suggesting a few names just for conversation purposes, nope. We never asked anyone.

Did you and your H agree right away, or did you go through a lot of options? I'm kinda set on one name but not crazy about the nickname that comes with it. DH hasn't really given out any other options yet.

Are you planning to share your name with friends/family, or wait till they're born? We won't be telling anyone until the baby is born.

Is there any meaning behind your names, or just something you liked? The first name I like is for DH's grandfather. The middle name (Michael) is set and it's both our fathers name.

Have you received any suggestions from people? If so, what were they? Not really cuz we're not sharing the names we like so no one is really giving us any suggestions which is nice and the reason why no one will know til he arrives!.

Omg Khaleesi (Game of Thrones) and Kenzie (Lost Girl) are two of my favorite characters from TV shows. I didn't know they were also Toddlers in Tiaras names! Noooo!

Did you and your H agree right away, or did you go through a lot of options? So. Many. Options. I thought I had lost him for sure when he suggested the name Trask. Like Trash. With a K. *facepalm*

Are you planning to share your name with friends/family, or wait till they're born? We're already sharing. I don't leave room for people to give opinions, when they ask if we have names in mind I tell them "Yes, this girl (A) is Scarlett and this girl (B) is Violet".

Is there any meaning behind your names, or just something you liked? First names are names that we liked. I always loved Scarlett and hubby fell in love with the name Violet a few years ago. Middle names are more meaningful. Scarlett Victoria Faith and Violet Elizabeth Grace. Victoria is because after years of struggle we're having our victory babies. Elizabeth means "oath of God", who we kept with us throughout. And without a whole lot of faith and a little grace, we probably wouldn't be where we are today.

Have you received any suggestions from people? My MIL was the most opinionated, but she's a doll so it's ok. Her top girl names were Sophia, Olivia, and Esther. Because ya know, those three all go together nicely

We've gotten pretty good feedback on Scarlett and Violet. I was thinking that the fact that they're both colors would be an issue for people, but it doesn't seem to be. Or they're lying to me, haha, either way, I don't care

Have you picked a name(s) yet? We have about 4 or 5 that we are deciding between. We are pretty sure that at least one girl will be named Audrey. With both DD and DS we had them named as soon as we found out what they were. This time is proving harder, and I am putting less pressure on myself to decide right now.

Are you going to make the final choice before or after birth? I am 99% sure I will want to know before birth. I am already seeing their little personalities on ultrasounds, and I get 3d ones a lot, so I don't see why I would not name them before.

Did you and your H agree right away, or did you go through a lot of options? Ugh. It is so hard to talk names with DH. I like to talk about them because it is something "fun" for me to think about, even long before knowing the sex. DH has a lot of opinions on what names do NOT "sound right," but not a lot of suggestions. I think he nixes like 90% of my list every time and does not add to it.

Are you planning to share your name with friends/family, or wait till they're born? I typically do share because the names are so set in stone by 20 weeks, but this time I am regretting even sharing choices. People have a LOT more opinions about naming twins, in my experience.

Is there any meaning behind your names, or just something you liked? Just going for what we like, what sounds good in a twin-set, and what goes with DD and DS :-). It is too tough to add other factors.

Have you received any suggestions from people? If so, what were they? Actually a lot of people have been more commenting on the names we have and stressing the ones they prefer. No one has outright said they hate anything. I get the goofy matchy twin suggestions as a joke.

Did you and your H agree right away, or did you go through a lot of options? I didn't go through any options we made a deal that he gets to pick the boy first name and I get to pick the girl first name. Then we get the opposite for the middle names.

Are you planning to share your name with friends/family, or wait till they're born? I think the plan is to tell everyone who asks after we find out if it's a boy or a girl. Or velociraptor. .

Is there any meaning behind your names, or just something you liked? We picked names because of what they mean as well as having family members or traditions followed.

Have you received any suggestions from people? I've heard all sorts of suggestions and I know it's rude but I kind of shut everyone down when they talk about names saying we already made our choices.

Did you and your H agree right away, or did you go through a lot of options? Agreed right away...I told him the name I loved, and he loved it too. There was never a doubt.

Are you planning to share your name with friends/family, or wait till they're born? Absolutely not. SIL made the mistake of telling their name choice to DH's family, and she ended up changing the name after MIL, etc. dog piled it. I would not be so kind if I received that kind of response.

Is there any meaning behind your names, or just something you liked? She is named after my great grandmother and step-mom, which adds to why we want it to be a special surprise.

Have you received any suggestions from people? If so, what were they? Olivia. Three people have now mentioned that name, and there is no connection whatsoever.

Did you and your H agree right away, or did you go through a lot of options? We have a dry erase board where anytime we heard or saw a name we liked we would put it on the board, if one of us did not like the names that were there, they got erased. Mallory has stuck from the beginning.

Are you planning to share your name with friends/family, or wait till they're born? We are telling anyone who asks.

Is there any meaning behind your names, or just something you liked? Not really a meaning as far as what you would find in a book, but DH is a mechanic and has enjoyed fixing up vehicles his whole life, and Mallory just happens to be a name brand company for performance parts. I think this is why he likes the name so much. As for me, I heard it in a song before I mentioned it to DH and that's when he described the above scenario, so the name stuck.

Have you received any suggestions from people? If so, what were they? We haven't received any suggestions; just likes and dislikes. MIL loves Mallory, my mother on the other hand doesn't care for it, but has high hopes it will grow on her.

On the girl name it was almost instant agreement once I mentioned the name but we keep vetoing each other's boy names. We go through name after name.

We've shared our girl name with them, so we're likely to share the boy name once we come up with it.

So far it's just a name we've both liked. Although still working on middle names and I think I'd like to make that meaningful. Maybe a family name.

Saint Sebastian is a saint near and dear to H's heart. It is also the name of his village in Oaxaca, México. It represents both the saint and the ties to his homeland. My grandfather was like a father to me. My grandparents were our neighbors and my dad died when I was 10. My grandpa's name was William, which is Guillermo in Spanish.

Have you received any suggestions from people? If so, what were they? I asked my 5 year old niece what we should name LO if a girl and she said "I like Sarah or Hannah." (that is her and her sister's names). When I asked her about boys names, she said "Sam or Isaac" which are her brother's names. I told her we would not use those names since they are already used in the family. She couldn't understand why not.

We are narrowing it down. We have some finalists for each gender just from random discussions, but we won't start in earnest until we find out boy/girl.

Most likely will have the "likely" name and then our runner ups as options if the first name doesn't "feel" right once we meet him/her.

We're in pretty close agreement. I threw out a bunch of names I have always liked. He liked most of them, although some he really liked and some he was "meh." But for the most part we're on the same page and we just need to narrow them down to one.

Maybe one or two who we know won't react badly. Depends how many "finalist" names we have, probably.

Is there any meaning behind your names, or just something you liked?

Not particularly special meaning, like for a grandfather or something like that. So far, the names we like reflect our various ethnic backgrounds, that's about as "special" as we've gotten.

A few jokingly want the baby named after them. One neighbor said I should do a "flag day name" since that's my due date. So, I guess it's Betsey Ross if it's a girl.

I know this may be weird, but DH and I have barely discussed names. Maybe it's just because we don't want to get too excited too early (and before the 22 week ultrasound) or maybe it's just for another reason we can't pinpoint!

We did tell family and friends that we were taking suggestions up until January 31st, and if we picked one of their suggestions, we'd cook them a homecooked meal of his or her choice! So far, the suggestions have been entertaining, but I don't think we'll be cooking any dinners! :-p
