What was your Follicle count for IUI? Multiples?

I am doing Follistim and IUI. This morning I learned from the doctor that I am ready to go on Wednesday with IUI but that my body responded very well to the meds this time and I have 4 follicles (18, 17, 16.5, & 16) that could drop. He wanted me to be aware that while unlikely, all 4 could take. He said my chance of multiples is VERY high.

Has anyone else had a high follicle count for their IUI? Did they all take?

I must have a very brave RE, but I really do trust him. Everyone is different and every RE has different protocols, so my story is just my outcome.

Our 4th IUI, and first IUI on Follistim, gave us our BFP. I had seven follicles on trigger day. They were all between 18 and 24. I was so worried I would be canceled. They did talk to me about the risks and selective reduction, and we decided to take the risk. He also triggered me with 1mg of Lupron instead of the usual hCG (Novarel) injection, and explained that the Lupron would encourage less follicles to ovulate. We only had one baby in there! In my case, I am very glad I took that risk. We are trying for baby #2 now and I've done three IUI's with much higher doses of Follistim and haven't produced more than two mature follicles. Crazy.

I had horrible lining- around (4.5) so was triggered with 5 mature follicles. I have one healthy 2.5 year old from that IUI. If my lining was better I would have been cancelled and we still had to have the talk of SR before they were willing to move forward. Good Luck!

The most I had during IUIs was 2, maybe 3, so I can't really relate. But, are you ok with multiples? When we were TTC #1, we were fully aware that multiples were a possibility, but we were ok with that.

I had 2-3 for each IUI and only ever got pg with singletons. GL!!

The most I had for IUI's was 5. My RE generally wouldn't trigger over 3 but with our history he let us go for it. Good luck!!!

Mr first IUI I have three mature follies and they gave me the talk about high chances of multiples and we were fine with taking the chance. It ended with a just one baby. This last IUI I think I had 2 mature and again on baby. Good luck!

I had an afc of 8, but don't know how many developed. Only one released. Can they just not trigger you and let you O on your own?

Both DS2 and DD were concieved while using follistim. DS2 I had an 18.5mm and a 18mm, with some smaller ones. We did TI though.

With DD I had a 19mm and a 18mm with some smaller ones. We did do an IUI for her. I did several TI cycles before that, but the RE was triggering me before I reached 18mm and, for me, those eggs never developed enough to result in a baby.
