Stained clothes vent

I honestly can't figure out how anything survived DS1 to be passed down.  I feel like this little guy is ruining stuff left and right and I don't remember taking time pre-treating anything the first time around.  We try to keep bibs on him but he seems to know to spit up as soon as it's off but only after eating a "dark food" like squash or cherries and apples.  And wearing light colored clothing. I've been throwing those Tide stain pods in as I remember but I guess I need to step up my game.  Anything you use that seems to work?  I wish I could say I have time to pre-treat after taking it off and throw it right in the wash but the reality is that everything sits for a day or more before I even remember it and start to do laundry :-/

  • I'm guilty of leaving things for a few days before washing, too. I love Grandma's Secret Spot Remover. It gets most stains out for me. It's wonderful.

I'm considering keeping a bottle of stain removed next to the baby wipes so I can spot it before I throw it in the hamper.
That's a good idea.  We're generally in meltdown mode by pjs time so my goal is just get him to bed but if it was right there I'm sure I could manage a quick spray.  What bugs me is that some of it isn't even obvious and I guess I'm oblivious lol  After I wash and dry I'll find this tiny little spot near the cuff or something.  Not enough to throw it out but it still irritates me.

  • We only wash clothes once a week. I've got to where I keep a bottle of stain remover (oxy clean in the blue bottle is my fave) on the shelf next to my bed, which is where I change her clothes 90% of the time. That way I can spray and stains and throw them in the hamper and forget about them.

  • If you have poop stains, bleaching them in the sun works wonders!  I tried it for food stains and I didn't have much luck :(

  • I can't seem to get anything to link on my phone today, but if you search "baby clothes stains" on Pinterest a bunch of good ideas come up.

  • We just have the tide stain remover pen. Its right at her hamper. I also use some handmade soap on it, and it normally seems to do the trick. I know how you feel- she ruined her favorite onesie and dress last week from eating prunes. Those stains I'd never be able to get out.

  • I just don't remember my first being so freaking messy!  Or maybe because he was my only one I was more diligent?  Doesn't sound like me though lol

  • @kari5186 do you mix the dawn and the oxi together in warm water?

  • I have a bottle of 7th generation spray prewash in the bathroom. Spray and soak there. Then I have another on top of the washing machine. The only stains I have not been able to get out is blueberries. She sat in them at daycare. Purple butt on pink leggings. It works!
