Need your opinion/help me mamas..

Ok ladies you have all been a great support and I need you help and opinion on what I should do. So long story short I have my nephew who is 14 months old staying with us for a few months. Well he hasn't had any of his shots and now he is biting Jacey. I mean biting until she bleeds and he's a sneaky little one. BIL is here after work and I can't just let him keep biting her he has even bit the crap out of her head twice. So mamas please any advice I am watching him like a hawk but she's been bit 4 times in 2 days

Separate them if possible. There isn't anything that can be done at his age to discipline him. But you shouldn't have to let it go on either. Redirect him. Tell him no. If not of that works, get a play yard fence and divide the area that they play in and keep them on opposite sides until he gets past this phase.

when my son (who is 12 months) was biting us (around 9 months) our pedi told us to say loudly, "ow! no biting" and put him down, in a pack and play or on the other side of a baby gate in a baby proofed room, and walk away for a short time. (i usually did until the bite stopped hurting).

Then I would come back into the room and say "mommy loves you. we don't bite." and then we would practice giving kisses on the area he bit, instead of biting.

Could it be possible that your nephew is teething, getting 1 year molars etc? I ask because my son had totally stopped biting until 2 days ago, and he started again randomly. Today I noticed 2 molars popping through, so it might be because of teething pain.

He bites when he wants a toy she has and when he's angry. He has a lot of emotional issues, while I feel bad for him I can't just ignore the problem especially since he hasn't had his shots. He can't go to daycare because he hasn't been vaccinated. I feel sorry for the poor fella but he's gotta stop biting.

Oh, I feel so bad for you and your LO. I think separation is the best. And I think you need to do a time out in a pack n play for even just a minute or so. It won't hurt him physically and maybe he'll start to realize that he cannot do that. ((((hugs)))). Sounds like you are trying to help a bad situation and it's too bad you have to deal with more stress.

I'm curious, is he immune suppressed? Or are his parents just antivaccination? I'm also curious how someone so young could already have emotional issues.. Poor little guy.

Ashley its a bad situation like Joann said no his "parents" or I should say lack their of are just to damn selfish and lazy to get him his shots. The mother is addicted to crystal meth and in jail at the moment and basically I stepped in to keep dfacs from getting involved. This child has no one to really show him love and he screams all day until he throws up. I think he was exposed to bothmeth in utero and is currently going through detox. Sad sad some people should be castrated.

Thanks 2013 I spoke of the detox because I believe she was still smoking it around him daily until Friday when she was arrested. Sad to say but its true. I wish they would just sign him over to me so I can get him the care he deserves and needs but they wont because he is the pawn. Makes me cry and you ladies are the only ones I can really speak about the whole situation about. Thanks for all the hugs they are much appreciated. We are having a better day today and both babies are napping.

Yes my BIL is close to DH none of the family are willing to help him until he gets away from said girlfriend, as he had a past addiction to crystal meth as well. We really have to prove paternity before we can do much. Its basically like a bad jerry Springer show with a innocent baby in the middle.

I am very sorry to hear bout the whole situation. Hope he stops biting Jacey and learns he has you around right now to love him and keep him safe! I'm sure he doesn't know fully yet what being safe and secure is.... Keep your head up!

Sad part is the released her from jail today and she's coming to get him in a few months this will happen all over again. I can't just keep letting him come in throw off our routine and leave. Its emotionally draining.

If she really smokes meth in front or around her child than she is an unfit mother. The BIL needs to have a reality check and get this child away from her unless she gets help for herself. Unfortunately maybe CPS needs to know. I feel so sorry for this baby

She is unfit selfish and many other things. Someone at her daughter's school contacted dfacs and they have opened a case against her but now she's hiding from dfacs. Once they get a new house I will notify them of where they can find the children. Sad but at this point its the best thing for these innocent children that deserve a good life and an environment they can thrive in. I miss him terribly and BIL is in no financial state to take care of him. Im ok now and ready to do whatever it takes to make sure she does not harm this babies development and emotional state anymore. Thanks for all the hugs ladies it was a rough week.
