Let's here it ladies... where you at now? What's the plan? How long will your doc let you go? Any induction or c/s dates scheduled soon??

I'm sitting pretty at 6+cm and 80% effaced (I forgot to ask if this progressed in my last 2 appts... oh well.) With this big snowstorm we had in Philly/NJ, I was doing everything I could to try NOT to go into labor. Having a baby on the side of 95 with 16in of snow on the ground does not sound like my idea of a "cool birth story". Ahem.

At this point I'm just trying to make it to my induction on Monday, 1/27. 5 more days. I think/hope I can do it!

Last appt and BPP ultrasound are Friday morning. In the meantime? NO MORE SNOW.

I do not know how dilated/effaced I am as my midwife will not do any internal checks until my 40 week appointment, but I've had a bit of "progress".

Yesterday I lost part of my plug, had an increase in discharge, and DS dropped a lot. Last night I started having intense contractions along with a stabbing pain in my cervix/vagina. They were coming so close together that I thought this might be it....But no...they stopped after about two hours. It has been quiet ever since.

On the bright side, looks like I will make my mom's night out dinner tonight with all my girlfriends

ETA: The game plan is C/S on Feb. 3rd if I do not go into labor naturally by then. With my previous C/S history, I opted not to go for an induction should DS take his sweet time.

My midwife did a check this week, and I am at 3cm with her head "really really low". I've been contracting since Sunday off and on. We scheduled an NST for Monday, but she thinks I'll go into labor before then.

I'm praying all the pressure will cause my water to break asap to make these contractions intensify and more regular. I'm tired of everyone looking at me like "is this it?"

@wilburbud- I'm always at least 3cm dilated whenever they first check me. So this pregnancy, I was 3-4cm at 35w1d. I've been 6cm since 37w1d. At my 38w1d appt she said I was more than 6cm but not 7 (THANK GAWD.) She just tells me at every appt that as soon as contractions appear to be timeable... GO. I'm not to wait for any real consistency or anything, just whenever I feel "it's time." My induction is Monday and I REALLY hope I make it. Really, really.

Feeling like this baby is never coming out of me. (I know I am only 39 weeks) I have an appointment today. I don't want to get an internal, but DH wants me to. I see no point in going through the uncomfortableness - they mean nothing. This is the third day in a row that the kids are out of school between MLK Day and two snow days. I'm tired, cranky and uncomfortable and they are stir crazy. Not a great combination.

I've had contractions here and there, but nothing meaningful. I think I will end up being a February mom at this point. Andplusalso, my doctors seem intent on going by my dating ultrasound instead of LMP, so they say I'm not due until 2/3. Ugh. What are your doctors going by for your due date?

According to my Dr yesterday I am "about" 1cm dilated. I love my OB but damn her skinny little fingers make internals hurt like a mo fo! I had contractions off and on all day and all night but they stop after and hour or so.

At my appointment last week, there was "not much change" from the previous week. I keep feeling like things are starting to progress (I've seen parts of my plug come out, I've had cramps off and on, I seem to be having increased amounts of BH contractions, baby seems to have dropped, stuff like that) but so far, nothing!

I have another appointment this afternoon so I'm hoping to at least see some progress.

Last week my OB said that the latest she will let me go is February 3rd before we induce, but I'm hoping that baby girl comes on her own before then. Tomorrow or Friday would be awesome because my OB is on rotation at the hospital, so I keep telling the baby that it would be a great day to come lol My family, however, thinks that she will come on Monday because both of my brothers will be in different hospitals about an hour away from the hospital I will give birth in for follow ups with their brain stuff that was happening a few months ago.

I'm 39w, 6d. At my appt on Monday I was about 50% effaced, still closed, and baby's head still high. The week before I was 30% and the week before that I was 20%. So I feel like I'm barely making any progress. But at this point, my doctor was leaving town today and won't be back till Sunday (not sure if he is really leaving with the snow and ice). I have another appointment on Monday and I guess we'll discuss options then. No contractions - well, nothing that I think is worth it. Some crampiness but nothing timeable or really painful. Doc says I need to start contractions for baby to drop more and get things progressing.

So I wait...

Pretty sure I will be pregnant forever. Baby is still not fully engaged and I haven't dropped. I lost MP at 37wks and now I am officially past my due date. Other than tightening, I haven't really felt any signs of baby wanting to come out. My OB will induce me next tues jan 28 if this little one doesn't come out on its own...

I am literally doing every natural induction method I can think of... Last night went walking around the mall for two hours but it only made me pee myself, followed by spicy Indian food which led to super bad heartburn. This little child likes my ute a little too much .

I am 40 weeks 3 days and still sitting here pregnant, at work no less. I decided today will be my last day at work and going on leave. I am completely done. I am a little over 1 cm dilated. Have not lost my mucus plug. They did an ultrasound and she is perfectly happy in there, everything looks great, so we just wait. They will give her until 1/28 (so 9 days past due) to come out, if not I go in that evening for an induction. I have been having contractions on and off for weeks. I think she knows how freaking cold it is outside and decided she is happier in there.

I was 3cm (she felt his bum when she checked) on Mon at 38w. Only got checked because I was having timeable contractions - they woke me up at 2am and were regular for hours. I got paranoid about laboring too long with a breech baby and having my water break or something.

It was a false alarm though and it petered out. Have a dr appt today to go over the details of my c/s scheduled for next week.

I am happy enough to wait, but this false labor is annoying. It woke me up again last night and sometimes gets pretty painful.

40 weeks tomorrow. 3cm dilated, membranes were stripped on Monday and I've been cramping and bleeding since. I willbe induced Sunday the 26th if I don't go into labor on my own.

40 weeks tomorrow. My last check was last Thursday, and I was not dilated at all. Another check tomorrow. I do feel like LO may have dropped slightly, but otherwise no signs of progress. We haven't talked about next steps, but I will be asking tomorrow.

I'm 39 + 3 today. My last cervical check was at 37 weeks, I was at 1 cm and baby was 'very low'. Doc didn't share effacement with me. My next check is tomorrow.
On Monday I started to have my bloody show and it only just stopped this morning. I thought things were getting going Monday overnight, because I was having contractions starting at about 1:30am (although they weren't any closer than 15 minutes apart, and didn't last longer than 30 seconds - but I thought it might lead to something) but then they fizzled out at about 5am. I was still crampy all day yesterday, but then I slept like a baby last night and feel back to normal today. So BOO!
I feel so over this, mentally. I feel very lucky that I've had a textbook pregnancy with no complications, but being an 'end of the monther' is playing mind games with me... People are dropping like flies and I feel like it will never be my turn!
My doctor hasn't even mentioned the word induce once. My guess is he'd let me go to 42 weeks since everything is fine health-wise.
OK, whine over. Haha.

Sitting pretty at 2 cm. have had my membranes stripped twice. I have an induction scheduled for Monday at 830 and I feel a ton better having an end date.

I did get a call this morning that I could come this morning but passed. The weather sucks and having people drive for elective is not fair. And I'm not due until Saturday. I am in a much better head space but hope she comes on her own before induction.

Seriously, I am a ton more relaxed. Though my random incredibly painful contractions are welcome to be one more consistent

This past Thursday at my 40 week, my cervix was fully closed. I will get checked again tmrw and induced on Sunday.

All if this- 4 days over today. Have another NST tomorrow, and baby and I are doing great so far. I'm grateful to have until early next week, but DAMN kid, let's GO! Have 2 acupuncture appts before I get checked again so I am really hoping I've at least made some progress.
Today was the day 40w4days that I had my son by emergency c-section after he wasn't tolerating pitocin contractions, so I'm wondering if I have some sort of mental block around that 'landmark'

I'm 39 weeks and at my last check a week ago I was 1cm dilated and 60% effaced (I think). Hopefully when I go in tomorrow I'll be further along. I'll speak with them tomorrow about plans.

MH accepted an offer (~4 hrs from where we live since we planned to moved closer to family), but unfortunately they want him to start 2/3, even after telling them he's waiting on his wife to deliver. Whew, sorry for the run-on lol. So I'm hoping baby will arrive before then so there's no worry about whether or not he'll miss her birth.

When I went to my OB last week at 38 + 4, I was 1 cm, thinning, dropped, and she was "surprised she hadn't seen me at the hospital over the weekend". She swept me, I went for a massage, and had Braxton Hicks all evening. The next day I lost my plug, and thought maybe we would get the show on the road shortly... Alas, no such luck.

Went in yesterday at 39 + 5, now up to 2cm, and baby is further forward, and dropped even more. She swept me again, booked me for next week, but doesn't think I'll make it to that appointment... Who knows!

I think it's too cold outside, and too comfy inside, so Baby is just choosing to stay in!

As of Monday I'm a fingertip and 50% effaced!! So glad finally something changed from the zero I've been getting. LO feels like she's about to break my pelvis in half and it hurts so so bad.

Induction is Friday! I'll check in thursday night at 8pm and start cytotec. My OB said he gives cytotec orally and i was thinking it was vaginally....anyone else take it oral before? he said it was safer that way, and that side effects could be reversed with that method if needed.

Excuse my choice of words, but my shit's locked up tighter than Fort Knox. Ain't nothing coming out any time soon. Baby has dropped but I've had no change in my last 3 cervical checks. I'm MAYBE 1cm and 60% thinned. No contraction that I can feel - some cramping which could be mistaken for gas or indigestion.

I know I haven't hit my due date but working full time is not getting any easier. I'm getting really cranky and am worried about causing an HR nightmare.

I'll ask my doctor next week about induction although right now, I believe she'd let me go at least 41 weeks if everything looked OK.

I'm just ready to meet my baby. And be done being pregnant.

Last weeks appt showed that I was 1 cm dilated but cervix is still high and long. Baby is still super high. Had some bloody show but nothing really other than that is happening. Won't be checked again until labor begins and no induction will be talked about until 41 weeks.

I just want to thank all of you ladies. I feel so much better knowing that I'm not the only one that is still preggo!!!

My little girl is so low that I feel like she could fall out at any given moment, but no contractions or ANYTHING yet.

Will opt for induction on Monday (at 40w2d) if she isn't here by then.

@missimone- My DH started a new job the day before I had my daughter! Thankfully they "let" him have off to be with me during delivery, but he was at work the next day and had 0 time off with me afterwards. While we were so thankful that he got the job (he's still there now!) it was really hard being thrown right into 2u2 all by myself from day 1! It all worked out though

If the new job knows you're PG before he even starts and makes him miss the birth, they're a bunch of DB's. I'd basically have him tell them that he won't be in work that day. Period. GL!

I just had my second cervical check. Last week I was 1cm. Today she said no change. But had to quit checking cause she has little hands and I was still very postieror and it was so unconfortable for her to be digging up there, she didn't wanna hurt me lol.. I have a sonogram this Friday yo check on the baby and then another appointment Monday if needed then if needed we will make an induction date

@cara1024 -- I was given Cytotec orally during my induction last week. Of all three things (Cytotec, Cervidil and Pitocin) that one was the mildest for me in terms of causing contractions, etc. The Cervidil irritated the crap out of my vag and cervix and made the cervical checks extremely painful. Without a doubt, those were the worst part of my experience, but it was probably because I was so stressed and upset at the same time. Plus I had a yeast infection, to make things dry and even more complicated. But I digress... Is there something in particular that you were curious about? I'm sure that every person is different. I will tell you that I had Cytotec vaginally for my missed miscarriage and that experience was a hell of a lot different (and more painful) than the oral version.

I'm 39 weeks today, just came back from an appointment. The OB offered to do a cervical but admitted that it makes zero difference so I opted out. She did say that she can see I'm having a contraction right as she was listening to the HB - but I didn't feel a dang thing (I never feel BH)!

I have an appointment for next week. If we're still locked and loaded we'll schedule a NST and a fluid ultrasound for 40+ weeks and then decide when to proceed with an induction. Probably around 41 weeks.

I'd like to go into labor before the ultrasound and blood pressure appointment tomorrow at 4pm!

@Cara1024 - I've never had it orally but was given Cytotec vaginally after a miscarriage and it was not fun! So I hope the oral version is less painful and a better experience, as @peanutmuse said!!

peanutmuse you answered my question about that. Now another one: did your OB ever give you any reason why none of the induction drugs were able to dilate you? And being that it went on for a couple of days surely they let you eat some right? (and how awful to also be dealing with a YI while having everyone all up in your vag the whole time. yuck.)

39 +3d today and at my appointment on Monday i was still only 1/2 cm dilated, which I've been for 3 weeks now. (also which is 1/2 cm more dilated than i was with DD before going into early labor). She's never told me my effacement % (can they even tell if you're not dilated?). She did say she thinks i'm getting softer. As soon as i show any progress or develop a 'favorable' cervix she's willing to induce me. I haven't had any problems so as of now i have no medical reason to be induced. I'm going to try to make myself last to 41 weeks before i cave on getting an induction (again, assuming everything is still fine with the baby). I just started taking EPO on Monday to try to help things along. Hoping i'm not too late with that. OB is basing my DD of of the scan not LMP (which would have given me a due date or 1/17)

Today is my due date. I had been having some concerning symptoms this past week so I have been monitored very closely and I don't think the doctor will let me go past this week. If this little girl doesn't start things on her own, I will probably be scheduled to be induced at my appointment tomorrow. So far, the baby is still up high and I am still closed. I have finally been having my first BH contractions, that are actually noticeable, these past few days so I am hopeful they are doing something.

I just thought I'd give an update on my vag after my appointment today, I know you are all dying to know.

But there is finally progress!!!

Baby's head is low and engaged and while my cervix is still closed, it has softened up! It feels good to finally be making some progress, as I'm hoping to avoid induction if I can. I have another appointment scheduled for next week and if I'm still pregnant then, we will schedule an induction.

38w4d here, I'll find out tomorrow if I've dilated anymore, but as of a week ago I was only 1cm, long but very soft, lol. My friend that's a Doula said I've very noticeably dropped in the last week, but I can still watch her butt dancing up high and she loves to press her feet out on the sides or kick the shit out of my back. I have been peeing a lot more lately and my heartburn is all but gone, so maybe she's right....

@mrsjenni You're delivering at Christiana, right? My Uncle said it was "All OB's on deck" during the storm yesterday. He swore I was going to go into labor during it, but the weatherguys are calling for like 3 more storms by the end of next week, so I figure Rose has her pick to be a blizzard baby. Of course, my OB's baby decided on yesterday's storm to arrive a month early, so she definitely won't be delivering mine.
