WMA (DC/MD/VA) May Bumpies?

Just noting from other threads that there seem to be a lot of us, and wanted to see how many. Since we're all huddled in panic from impending snow doom, today seemed to be a good day. ;)

I'm originally from Baltimore, but now live in Fairfax County. WMA(y) Bumpies shout out!

Ugh.  So true.  I told my H, I'd rather squeeze our family into the world's smallest house close in than have to rely on 66 for my daily transportation.

  • Loudoun County! It's snowing like cats and dogs here!
  • yay for Loudon County representation! I work from home on Tuesdays anyway, so nothing out of the ordinary today except DH and DD were here too so we had to keep DD entertained while we tried to get work done.

Also, I'm a rarity that is actually "from DC"... Born in a DC hospital, lived my first 2yrs in Falls Church, family then moved to LoudounCo. and I've lived in the same city ever since. crazy, right? lol

The snow here is rarely "bad," we just lack the infrastructure to take care of it in an expedited manner.  And with such a transient population, people never really learn how to deal with the weather we do get.

I once saw a car with dip tags stop dead in the middle of 495 when it started flurrying.  The guy got out and just looked up at the sky.

Lol and people thought I was kidding about the awful MD drivers in the post about southerners.

If any of you Baltimore chicks are looking for wall decorations for your nursery's, I highly recommend my SM at https://www.abfab-design.com She's in the Hampden area. Here's some of the things she made for our DD

Hilarious! Can you believe whatsherface tried getting rights to Hon?! I remember coming into the city on 95 when I was younger and seeing the graffiti Hon on the upright pillar like Baltimore sign.

Dad and SM live on Beech street, like a block from the crazy Christmas light street which number escapes my tiny brain at the moment.

  • PW County, VA here. I left work at 11 when DS1's daycare closed and sat around thinking - where is this massive snow accumulation!? It's looking a little worse out there now, but really not too bad.

  • Oh cool! They used to live down in fells point, then on Ann street, but they now live on beech right across from the park/play ground.

  • @aimee223 - Hi neighbor! That's too funny that you're in the same city :) DH works in Frederick at Ft Detrick and I'm kind of all over MD and VA for photoshops (used to live in Alexandria and still see clients around there).

I see play dates in the future!
