OK, who already has silly nicknames for their expected child? We have dubbed ours Big Papi because I told my DH the baby was the size of a poppy seed this week and then quipped that baby likes it when we call him/her "Big Poppy."
I call it gummy bear in my head, but haven't called it anything out loud. I just realized that DH and I have talked about my pregnancy and everything that will happen to me, but haven't talked about "it" out loud. Weird.
Married June 2012

Stroke: 3/15/14 dx expressive aphasia: had to relearn how to communicate
Nothing yet because we are trying to keep our 6yr old in the dark for now. She found out by accident when I got pregnant early in 2012 and was completely devastated when we lost the baby. I mean, she still cries about it sometimes. Several times a week she prays that God will take care of "her little Angle Baby" until she can come to heaven and take care of it. She is so intuitive and sensitive that we want to protect her as best as we can.
Last time around, DH referred to the baby as Phineas, so I half expect him to call this one Ferb-- as in Disney's cartoon.
Never had one for my DD, my DS started out as peanut and then at an ultrasound was given the nn Turtleman and it stuck, this one is being referred to as Appleseed
DS was peanut, but we don't have one for this LO yet. I call DS button now, but he's been through a lot of nicknames. Something will come to us at some point.
"Baby M"! Our Two sons names start with M, and we will cintinue with this one. and we are team green this time around so he/she will be Baby M for the whole 9 months!!
My fiance always joked that he wanted to name our first child "Soda Pop" from The Outsiders. His whole family knew about these conversations too. So, naturally, everybody refers to our baby as "Soda Pop." lol
Alien...I used to tease DH back when we were dating that he must be pregnant since he always told me he had cravings for random things. But...that his baby must be an alien since it was in there for such a long gestation.
DD was alien until she was born then she quickly became Bee due to how MIL says her name with a Filipino accent.
@jennl7, I love little lion! May start using that one instead
and @BlytheMac, I love the "mom to-bee" pic . That could go both for DD and for alien baby to-be right now!
We've been calling it 'bullseye'. 6 dpo I went to Target and got a bunch of pregnancy tests. The lady checking me out was older and kind of stern, but when she handed me my bag she broke out in a smile and said 'Child, you're pregnant, don't worry' and winked. DH and I decided it was either really weird if I wasn't pregnant or a sweet story if I was.
I don't know yet. We haven't typically 'nick named' the baby until after 20 weeks at the u/s. We don't reveal the name until birth, usually because we want to see if the baby 'fits' the name before making it official but our family insists on a name to call the baby by, so we come up with a name that we'd never actually use just to screw with my MIL. She hated our first girl name and made that clear, so it's now unusable and I'm vindictive.
After we knew he was a boy, DS was Pubert. We ended up calling DD Ferbert (as a mix of Pubert and Ferb, from Phineas and Ferb) until we found out she was a girl, than she became 'Gertie'. I really want to refer to this one as Stormy, short for Stormageddon, but I haven't run it past DH yet. Maybe I'll just make it happen.
We are calling ours bean too. I sing a little sticky bean song each day since I found out hoping this little bean sticks around

Early on last month I was explaining a blastocyst to DH, and later he tried to recall what I had said our LO was by saying "Blastoise" as in the Pokemon. So, even though we're far past that stage, the little one is a blastoise. Nerdy, I know.
We've using the "your baby is as big as this fruit or vegetable" thing, so currently we are on blueberry. Also "almost fetus" (next week will move to fetus). And "parasite" (as in "the perfect parasite" - fetus gets what it needs, you get whatever is leftover). And probably some other things I can't think of right now.
Current pregnancy - First BFP on 1/4/22. Due date 9/13/22.
Four prior losses, no living children - 1 first trimester miscarriage, 1 blighted ovum, 1 chemical, and one extreme premature live birth daughter who died at 15 days old.
I'm totally resurrecting this thread because my friend gave my baby a perfect nickname. Nothing fit until today when we had our ultrasound and she said my baby looked like a teddy bear
My SIL & BIL call theirs 'burrito'. I've tried a couple names with my husband but he doesn't care to nickname it. It's also still not too real to him as we haven't had an u/s yet and I'm not really 'showing' unless I bloat up in the evening.
