I'm a first time mom who is so worried and paranoid that something is going to go wrong with my baby during the first trimester. Every ache and pain, or lack there of freaks me out and I find myself constantly searching for answers on line. The only time I feel some sort of relief is when I have an ultra sound and see that everything looks good. So, why can't obgyn's allow for an ultrasound every two weeks in the first trimester so that worried warts like me can breathe a little easier?
Re: Paranoid mom wants ultra sound every two weeks
You can't live with the panic. Even if you could get an ultrasound every other week, it still wouldn't prevent anything bad happening. You have to stay focused on being pregnant NOW. Enjoy this moment and try not to worry about tomorrow. It sucks, I get it. But try to relax and enjoy this moment.
I can understand where you are coming from. I'm actually surprised you didn't get some "Me too! We just have to power through!" kind of responses.
May I suggest a slightly different way of looking at things? Currently, it seems like you are focused on the baby as an alien entity who needs to be monitored by medical professionals the same way that cancer would. Try seeing this as the natural functioning of your organs. Have faith that your uterus is functioning the same way you have faith that your gallbladder is functioning. You were born with this wonderful organ specialized for this task. Trust that it's doing it's job, at least until it's given you reason to doubt.
