Why don't you just arrange for a sitter thru the resort? Most AI resorts have a concierge desk for these things. You get adult time, your kid doesn't die and you don't look like a douche for neglecting your baby. Problem solved. You haves my welcomes.
I totally understand. I leave my LO on my beach towel on shore when we go swimming. I just go for a quick dip, maybe 15 minutes. Better then her getting ate by a shark.

So you would be ok with leaving your kid with a stranger rather than just sleeping in their own crib while you're watching with a monitor? How do you guarentee the sitter wouldn't be crazy and do something?

Umm, yes. I would rather leave her with my bsc mil than alone! In all seriousness, AI resorts aren't cheap. They keep qualified sitters on hand for these things. I'm willing to bet that the sitter they send would be even more careful than you. For example, I highly doubt said hypothetical sitter would even consider leaving a 5 month old unattended for longer than a pee break. Seriously, I can't even believe that you are contemplating this. My head spins just thinking of all of the things that could go wrong, so easily, in this scenario. Just don't.
Guess we'll just have to agree to disagree. A quick Google search shows I'm not alone in my thoughts. I'm going to go take care of my "neglected" baby now. Thanks for the santimommy party lines though ladies. ::eyeroll::
Yea I let google make all my parenting decisions for me too.
WTAF!? I just can't with you. If this is MUD, you're disgusting for even thinking of this. If you are serious, then you need major help, and I pray to GOD your child doesn't suffer for your stupidity.
Yep, I went there. I pulled the "I feel sorry for your baby" card. I actually do feel sorry for your baby.
So, I haven't read the whole thread so excuse me if I'm repeating something, but don't you know that this is what happened to Madeleine McCann? She was kidnapped while her parents went out to dinner with friends.
I don't even think I would leave LO in his crib to run to the neighbor's house to borrow a cup of sugar!!! Do you leave your LO in the car when you run in a store just knowing the doors are locked??? [-X
Well...yeah. Ive run intothe gas station for cigs, Its like 30 secs
What. In. The. Fuck? You seriously leave your child all alone? You need to seriously re-evaluate your priorities.

Great minds etc etc... I linked the exact same web page. Haven't people learned their lesson from that case? That family's life is ruined because of one "adult" night out!

Watch the sitter with your monitor. Don't leave your baby alone.
@Wanderlust23 His parents or your parents couldn't watch the baby so you two can get your alone time, or spend some extra money and have an au pair/nanny travel with you to watch the baby?
@wanderlust23 I really hope this is MUD. Surely, you haven't been here long enough to know that the mean girls AE is a troll and not know that this wouldn't go well. I hope that you a) know this is wrong, b) know this isn't safe, and c) realize that even if you're dumb enough to do it you sure as hell shouldn't admit it to anyone. If someone knows you do this (leave a baby alone- in a car or otherwise), they should be calling the police and you should be cited.
You mentioned it is not different than going outside.... if it's nothing more than that- why pose the question in the first place? Clearly you know it is wrong, or you wouldn't have posted the question asking how to handle it. And if it was really that close- you wouldn't feel the need to have any kind of monitor.
No- no one here has done this. We love and care for our children in a way that means we meet their needs and watch them closely. This is a group of women who don't leave their children in the car- ever- no matter how many seconds it is. Every single morning I take Joel out of his carseat and into the post office with me. No one is there, and it takes ten seconds to check the box, but I would DIE if something happened to him while I went inside.... and it's dangerous!
Married DH : 7/7/12; 3 fur babies (2 dogs and 1 cat) DS born 9/3/13; DD born 7/22/15; LO due 5/28/18 FS (age 5) and FD (age 2) to become AS/AD very soon!
OP if you are still reading... No. Agrees w sfeebs. Watch said hotel provided babysitter in the camera. Don't leave your kid alone. What the fuck is wrong with you.?!

Here I thought this thread was going to be about babies on planes...
OP - please don't leave your baby in the hotel room.. what happens if the wifi goes out on your phone and you lose service and you don't even realize it bc you're too enthralled in "adult time". If you need that time so badly, I would recommend keeping LO at home with a grandparent or a trusted friend.
Re: Traveling with LO
It's been a while since we've had a good crazy in these parts.
And to answer your question op
