Blowouts

Does anyone have any recommendations, strategies, or methods they use to get the lovely yellow stains out of LO's clothing when they leak through their diaper? I'm desperate here! TIA!

Re: Blowouts

  • I haven't personally tried this but one of our friends had a baby a month ahead of us and she swears by the Deft stain spray.  Like I said, I can't attest to it, but she said it works wonders.

  • When it is still fresh, put it under hot water and get all the rough stuff off. Then grab a bar of soap, yes soap, and vigorously scrub it over the affected area. Run the hot water over it again and e'voila poop be gone.

I had this happen the other day and the poop was out of LOs white onesie within seconds.

  • I soak in hot water and then use Dreft stain spray. Works every time

  • Weve been using the dreft stain spray - it works wonders! We just rinse the outfit, spray, rub it in and let sit five minutes and wash. Its saved us from throwing out quite a few onesies.
  • I second the fels-naptha soap bar. Even after something has been washed and dried, the soap can still get it out. My family has used it for years and it gets everything out. Wal-Mart carries it, not sure about other stores.
  • I'm lazy, I don't rinse immediately just when I'm about to do laundry then I wet the areas rub Oxy clean on it on both sides and wash like normal. Haven't had a stain not come out yet.
  • I just rinse it immediately and then scrub it with available soap. Even if it's only handsoap, then rinse and put it in the laundry later.

  • Blue Dawn mixed with OxyClean. BFF gave me several bags of clothes that have gone through her four boys and many were 7 + years old and stained. They look brand new now.
