Baby name

I didn't want to post this on the baby names board for fear of it getting torn apart. And I'm not really feeling those posters' style much. I've seen Mortimer suggested on multiple occasions, like really? Is this the 30's?

Anyway, we've been thinking of names for baby #2. Our boy name is sticking from last pregnancy, but for a girl this time we were thinking Kinsley or Kirra with the middle name Ember. Our last name is two syllables starting with a B. Our DD's name is Brooklyn Naomi, and if we have a boy he'll be Bentley J (J being a family name). Any thoughts?

I like Kirra, but it's more popular. Also, why Bentley? Does it work with your last name? Dh doesn't want to use pretty much any R names because our last name starts with R. Silly man.

Is too early for us to think seriously about names, but I like Sophia and Amelia but we are completely stuck on bit names. I like Malcolm and Wyatt but dh hates them. *sniff sniff* :'(

@TamaraR4 I'm going to be honest, I got the idea for Bentley a couple years ago from Teen Mom. I thought Macy was the only girl on that show that wasn't half retarded, and her son was adorable. But we both like the name, and it works with our last name.

I like Wyatt though! That's my manager's son's name, and it suits him well. Sophia is cute too!

I'm more of a Kirra fan. Kinsley sounds a little too surname-ish for me, and I have a kid with a surname first name haha (Jackson). It feels like naming your kid McDonald or something, I guess. Bentley is cute!

I like Kira or Keira, those spellings. Kirra looks made-up and makes me want to pronounce it differently (kind of like kur-ah instead of kee-ra). I don't like Kinsley or Bentley.

Another vote for Kira/Kiera! Kira Ember is awesome. Kirra is okay, but I agree that when I first read it I wasn't sure if you wanted to pronounce it the same as Kira.

Kinsley "goes" better with Brooklyn and Bentley, but I think Kirra sounds better with Ember and in the end I think that the overall sibset is less important of a factor.

I like the BNB but I totally understand your POV. I take their opinions with a grain of salt.

I love Ember. LOVE it. I'm "meh" on Kira (though I like the single R), and not a fan of Kinsley.

Bentley is cute, but NMS. And I agree about Maci. She was definitely the smartest, most mature and frankly, motherly of the bunch. I enjoyed watching her grow as a person. (omg, i'm such a nerd lol)

Kinsley is actually the last name of a family in my town. The mom was a grade school teacher everyone loved and her sons are kinda kooky

but for a girl, I like it. I like different names. As to Kirra, it is cute, but pp mentioned it is a top name and I usually shy away from those. I wouldn't want my kid to be one of so many with the same name, only to be identified by her last name all through school.

All of these names were on our list also! Love Bentley, it was our top boy name so my vote is for that. But since your daughters name starts with a B also if you had another child would you keep with the B names? Just a thought. I never was a fan of all the kids having the same letter.

I love both of the girls name but I think I like Kira more. But I would spell it Kyra.

Yes, like PP Kinsley also makes me think of old sex guy Kinsey. Plus, was name of aggressive person on that fashion designer show, which might sort of be reality TV overkill, since I think that is the only place I've heard that name. The sound of it is okay.

I think too many people have seen Teen Mom for you to use a name from there. I mean, do you want your child to be associated with Teen Mom forever? Maci was likable, but not enough to use her kid's name. I would be super ashamed to say, oh, yeah, we named our baby Khloe or whatever because I was just really into the Kardashians or whoever, and even if you don't say that, people will think it. Plus, what about the car association? That feels weird to me.

Thanks for the input everyone. I actually didn't know who that Kinsey guy was. I had to Google. But I know we definitely don't want three kids with B names, especially since our last name starts with a B. Way too matchy-matchy. Luckily we have a long time to decide still, but we're so indecisive when it comes to names. I really wanted Avery Renee for a girl, but my fiancé shot that down and won't budge. He wanted Aurora, but I think that's too Disney princess-y.

And we'll find out on Friday if we're having twins! Maybe we'll have two names we'll have to decide on!
