Does your toddler have spiking fever with cold sweats?

My 15 month old boy has been experiencing fever in which his temperature spikes up to 103 every 4 hours and goes down when I give him Motrin/Tylenol alternately. The doctor diagnosed it as Ear Infection and has prescribed Amoxicilin. Starting yesterday, he has also developed cold sweats when he sleeps even though he is wearing light clothes.

1. Have any of your kids also experienced sudden spikes in temperatures? If so, what is the reason for it?

2. Any cold sweat experiences? Any reason why it happens?

DD was that way when she had a kidney infection, it turned septic too. I'd bring him to urgent care if I were you.
