OMG I went to BRU today with my mom to start my registry. I was overwhelmed in a way. Some stuff I know but other stuff, no idea. I am asking some of my friends to give me some ideas of what their "must haves" are I dont want to just put anything on the registry. LOL

We went this weekend and it was totally overwhelming. Even my MIL was overwhelmed. She has decided not to come are with us again. I guess I'm in the clear now.
I will be 21 weeks on Tuesday and we are going to register this week. My cousin is sending out baby shower invitations in about 3 weeks. I am having my shower in early April so I need to tell her where I am registered .
I think we will register in April because our baby shower will be in May. I heard you don't want to do it too early because things could be discontinued. We are just doing Target.
We also registered at BRU and Target and started last weekend (I'm 21wks). We've done almost all of it online except for the big items (my best friend has a 9mo old and helped me tremendously!). I noticed BRU has most of the essentials but Target has a better selection of certain items in my opinion.
My Dr. told me to plan on bedrest for end of March, so the shower will be close to the end of March. With that in mind, I decided to do my registry this weekend (or at least to start). I'm doing Baby List for my etsy/random stuff & Amazon for all else. If people don't want to order on line, both lists at least give them an idea of our style and needs.
Question for STMs: does the completion coupon only work for exact items? We put cheaper cribs on the registry jic someone/group wanted to buy them, but we may want to use the coupon for a higher end item if we end up buying the cribs ourselves.
with regard to the completion - if I recall correctly, it does need to be specific...however, there is nothing preventing you from adding the more expensive items right before you use the completion program coupon

We registered at Amazon and Target, but kind of indirectly. My Amazon stuff is all through MyRegistry.com, which also shows my Target stuff. So it's all in one place for online ordering, plus there are a few Etsy items in there.. Amazon, I like more. Target's site is jacked up a lot. BUT, someone on here gave me the advice of registering somewhere that you could return stuff. Returning to Amazon would suck.
Amazon had a lot of items for cheaper than BRU, Target, etc. Sometimes half the price. Even if other people are buying, I want them to save money.
We went to a baby boutique today and made an appointment to do ours in February (due June 8). They recommended doing the registry at least 8 weeks before your shower, and our shower is April 13. Basically, get your registry before the invitations go out!
