The ladies who had ultrasounds that were measuring behind...how is everyone feeling? When is your next ultrasound? I thought we could start one discussion since there seems to be a lot of people in the same situation.

Good idea! I'm measuring about a week behind. My ultrasound is tomorrow to find out if there's a heartbeat. I can't wait.

My first ultrasound, which I had due to spotting and cramping, showed nothing. Not even a sac. It basically looked like a non-pregnant uterus. That was a little scary. The next ultrasound showed a gestational sac and yolk sac and maybe the beginning of a fetal pole. I'm optimistic about tomorrow since the pregnancy does seem to be progressing. I'm hoping I just ovulated late.

I measured about a week, maybe just over, behind. Doc didn't seem concerned as the heartbeat was good for the measured size and my pregnancy symptoms are strong. He said as long as I have no bleeding or strong cramps just to come back at 12 weeks. My next u/s won't be until 20 weeks unless he finds cause for concern before then. His positivity makes me feel less worried about the situation but still. I can't wait until my 12 week appt to hear that heartbeat on the doppler! I will probably be a mess until then. I still think my dates are correct and this LO is just a little behind on growing. I'm sure he or she will catch right up.

Both of your stories sounds great! My next ultrasound is Friday due to some spotting and my last ultrasound only showed a ges. Sac...that was a little scary to see but I've been feeling super nausea lately so I think that's a good sign.

Thank you for starting this. I went in Friday night with bleeding and although everything appeared fine I measured 10 days behind with just a gestational sac. Dr says I could just be earlier than I thought or I could lose the baby. So we are trending beta hcgs. First one that night was 1623. I go back tomorrow morning for my second and I am having crazy anxiety about it. The dr told me to come in for an appt on weds and I believe I will have a repeat u/s then. Besides that I have my regularly scheduled first appt a week from tomorrow. Super nervous and praying for a much higher number tomorrow!! I'm glad there are more of us around, makes me feel less alone.

If you don't mind my asking, how far along were you with your first and second ultrasounds? Your story sounds similar to mine. I went in due to spotting and had an ultrasound done at exactly 5 weeks. There was nothing in my uterus besides a thickened lining. They seemed to think it was just too early to see. Tomorrow is my second ultrasound, and I'm worried. I want to see a heartbeat so bad and to know one way or the other what this pregnancy was going to do. That's why I was wondering how far you were when you saw nothing, and then the sac and possible fetal pole. Wondering what to expect to see tomorrow. Thanks in advance.

My first ultrasound was at six weeks one day I was measuring 5 weeks two days with just the gestational sac. I go back at seven weeks two days.

Based on my last period, my first ultrasound was at 5w2d. The doctor said by 5 weeks, there should be a gestational sac visible on a vaginal ultrasound, and there was nothing there, so I was either not as far along as I thought, or there was a problem.

The second ultrasound was at what should have been 6w2d, and there was a gestational sac, a yolk sac, and maybe a fetal pole. No heartbeat. Doctor said at 6 weeks, there is typically a heartbeat, so it did look like I had ovulated late, but the pregnancy was progressing. She estimated I was actually at about 5.5 weeks instead of 6w2d.

I had two beta HCGs drawn as well, one at the first appointment, which was 1,273, and one three days later, which was 5,500. So the betas doubling appropriately was a good sign, too. Have you had any betas done?

I work at the health system where my labs are being drawn so I will look them up at home pretty soon after they are drawn. The midwife who saw me on Friday said they should call within 2 hours but to call them if they don't call me first. So I'm hoping for good news and then to schedule the appt for weds! I'll update you tomorrow morning for sure!

Thank you so much for the info! I will be 6 weeks 6 days tomorrow, so I hope so badly to see a heartbeat. From what you say, it sounds like if things are progressing normally, there should be one. I tracked and charted my ovulation with basal body temp and ovulation tests, so I know the exact day I ovulated. So if my ultrasound comes back smaller than it should be, I won't be encouraged.

I did have my HCG drawn, a day after the ultrasound at 5 weeks 1 day. My level was only 470. (Which explains why they didn't see anything on the ultrasound. My doctor says nothing can be seen before a HCG level of 1500 or so) At that point, I figured it was over since it was so low, but two days later, it had risen to 1520, which more than tripled. I'm encouraged by those numbers, but still so unsure about things. Im so hesitant to be excited about this pregnancy until I see a heartbeat. Technically I haven't seen anything yet to confirm pregnancy in my uterus. It's like I'm detached from the whole idea for now. Limbo sucks!

Fingers crossed for progress at our next ultrasounds!! Keep me posted.

I went it at would should have been 6w1d due to some intense cramping. Doc said based on u/s I am no more than 5w. Next one is on the 29th.

So I went in this morning for my ultrasound. I should be 6 weeks 6 days based on ovulation. My scan showed a gestational sac, a yolk sac, and the startings of a fetal pole. They dated me at 5 weeks 4 days. The doctor said it was still possible for it to develop. She got another hcg level and I can call for that result after 3. She said if my levels have increased significantly, then I don't have any signs yet of things not progressing (since at my last ultrasound there was nothing in my uterus at all). I'm hopeful, but realistic. Still in limbo. My next ultrasound is next Monday. Hopefully you girls scans were more definitive than mine.

Just so you ladies know, with my last pregnancy I measured a week behind. I had a longer cycle and ovulated later in the cycle. My ob just changed my due date to the measured date and everything was normal.

Just got back my second beta. First one was drawn 1/18 at midnight and was 1623. Second was today 1/20 at 07:51 and was only 1926. Waiting on a call from my OB but pretty sure that I'm gonna lose this baby. Good luck to the rest of you!

I had my first u/s last Friday, I should have been at 5w5d. They told me they thought I was closer to 5w2d, which seems on the conservative side to me. My gestational sac & yolk sac were clearly visible; there was also the potential beginning of the fetal pole which all seems pretty close to on track with my dates. I'm pretty sure of my ovulation date because I had very intense O pains the day after my trigger & IUI(done on the same day). But, it's possible that I had later implantation. My beta at 12dpo was low, so I would believe that. I go back on the 27th for my next scan & we should definitely see a heartbeat by then, even by their date.

I'm nervous because I was behind last time around too, but I was closer to a full week behind & was also sure of my O date that time.

Well, we have a heartbeat! Baby was measuring 7w5d, and it looks like everything is progressing normally at this point, so I must have just ovulated late.

The doctor is starting me on progesterone suppositories because my level was low. It was with my first pregnancy, too, but I did injections that time.

Hoping for good news for everyone else, too!

I have long cycles so they wanted to do a dating u/s on me anyway. We went by my ovulation date in scheduling the 1st u/s. Last Wednesday I should have been 6w3d by ovulation but the tech said I was measuring at 5w3d. There was a gestational sac and yolk sac. My betas did not quite double but it was *almost* double. But that happened when I was pg. with my son. My u/s with my son measured me right on target with my ovulation date. My next u/s for this little bean is a week from today (Monday). Prayers for everyone else.

I went in first at what I thought was 6w4d, but the nurse doing the scan had a very confused look on her face the whole time. She ended up finding two things…one that looked like a early developing sac with a dot in it that measured 4w5d, and something else that measured 4w1d. She was confused as to if it was twins though because she said the second thing looked like it had more in it than normal, and it could be leftover stuff from my last pregnancy. But since that appointment, my symptoms have increased times ten, so I know something's going on. I go back on Friday for a second ultrasound. This two week wait has been killing me!

I went in for my first appointment and there was an empty sac. I thought I was about 8 weeks but my periods have been of lately and I'm not sure of any dates. Also, the Dr didn't give me any measurements. I go back in this Thursday to see if there is any growth of any kind. Im so nervous there will still be an empty sac again. I still have a few pregnancy symptoms on and off and no cramping or spotting so I'm hoping for the best!!

I went on for my first u/s yesterday and measures behind too. We thought we were 7w6d, but he thinks we are 7w1d. He didn't seem worried tho because the hb looked strong and my cycles can sometimes run long.

I am having another ultrasound in the next couple weeks because my endometrium is thickened?? No idea what that could mean.

Went in Monday for my first appointment. Should have been 7 weeks, 5 days based off of LMP. Baby measured 6 weeks, 2 days - with a heartbeat. The NP didn't measure (time?) the heartbeat, but was super positive about the whole thing - saying she's almost certain I ovulated late last month. (Was not tracking.) Which would make sense especially since I had/was recovering from surgery the entire first half of December. She ordered an ultrasound for 1/29 just to be sure, but also told me to go ahead and schedule my 2nd appointment for February. Good thoughts are appreciated - love and prayers everyone's way!

I had my first US yesterday at 9 weeks (based on LMP), but measured at 8 weeks. They were happy with how everything looked, we saw the heart beat, and the teeny tiny beginnings of limbs. I have a longer cycle, so after the US tech tried to tell me I must be wrong about my LMP, she acknowledged that my ovulation probably was just a little later in the cycle.

I went for my first US last Friday. All we could see was an amniotic sac so my doctor measured it. According to the measurement I was 6w0d (we thought I was closer to 7 weeks) She thinks that because of having a longer cycle I ovulated later. I have another US this Friday. I have a few symptoms which I'm hoping is a good sign. This is my first after a MC so I'm praying this will go well. Prayers for you all!!

With my last pregnancy, I didn't have my first US until 20 weeks and they ultimately ended up pushing my due date back two weeks based on her very small size (and she was still late, but 6 pounds, 13 oz and healthy). I bet if I had an US early in the pregnancy my story would have been similar to many of these. I am a little jealous that my midwife doesn't due US at first appointment, but I see here that they can cause some anxiety, too! I'm hoping you ladies may just have longer cycles like I do and ovulate later! FX!!!

We had our 3rd ultrasound today and we saw a heartbeat!! Measuring 6.5 which makes sense w when I think I ovulated. Yay! I feel relieved! Thanks everyone!

I went for my second ultrasound on Friday. This time we could see the yolk sack and maybe the fetal pole. It looks like I'm measuring more like 5 weeks which is much farther behind than I expected. My cycle was really long this time so I must have ovulated /conceived /implanted at the latestpossible moment. I have to go back in another week for another ultrasound

We'll I went Friday for my repeat us and all they saw was an empty sac - last week there was a fetal pole there - they told me I'd probably start mc soon but that was Friday and stilll no bleeding or anything and it's Sunday evening - I don't understand how there was a baby there last week and now it's gone

I just had my first u/s after my last miscarriage. I thought I was 6w3d. However, the u/s showed just empty sac and no baby. Tech said she thought baby blob was 5 weeks (although I don't know how she can saw that if sac was empty) and sac looked 7 weeks. Nothing makes sense. I'm sched for another u/s next tue (8 days from now) to see if baby exists. Wow this is hard...
