We usually steam it, but I was wondering how the other methods work for people, especially putting it in the fridge the night before. (Does it defrost all the way by morning?) I'm not really interested in microwaving due to hot spots.
I take whatever I'll use for the next couple of days out and let them thaw out in the fridge. They are usually thawed out by the next morning. Luckily he eats them right out of the fridge so I don't have to worry about warming them up.
I've taken out and put in fridge the night before on occasion- which defrosts them but they are obviously still cold. Typically I just microwave in 10-15 second intervals and stir like crazy til about room temp.
If I remember to I just put it in the fridge the night before. Never microwave because I have breastmilk mixed with mine. If I don't remember to put some in the fridge, then I'll set it out on the counter. It usually defrosts pretty fast and I feed it to him as soon as it is defrosted.
We microwave and I check for hot spots and use a spoon that turns white if it's too hot as well. If it's too hot I add a nice cube and stir it around a bit.
