I don't like reading posts where babies had something happen to them. And it's hard for me to post something supportive. It's not that I don't feel bad for what happened, but when I hear about bad things, I shut down emotionally so that I don't feel anything. I do that IRL, too. It's my defense mechanism. I shut down until I can process what's happened and then the floodgates open.

I have another one.... I was talking to SIL and suggested that she sign up for TB. My confession; she's clueless but thinks she knows EVERYTHING and has no filter at all, so I mostly did it to lurk on the board and see what kind of drama she stirs up. July 2014 board watch out!

I'm guessing she's in Canada? They sell milk in clear plastic bags there instead of cartons/plastic jugs. You put the bag into a pitcher and snip off the tip and just pour it - super easy. I think the bags are 1 liter each. Here's a pic:

I licked syrup off dd's head after I dripped it while holding her and eating pancakes.

Dd fell asleep in my arms and I needed a tissue very badly. So I used a dirty bib from her hamper next to me.

She did a big spit up on the sheets on my side of the bed. I didn't change them...

I stopped washing her pacis if I drop them on our floor at home.

All of these made me laugh, and I don't wash pacis after they touch our carpet. We don't have pets, and hubby loves vacuuming, so I figure it's NBD.

Love that I may have done all of these myself. Sub syrup for some oatmeal.

That's some sort of fecking witchcraft. We've got bagged milk here in Ontario, but I don't know WTF that is. Do they serve that to prisoners in Kingston Penn or something? (if so... I wanna go get me some chocolate milk) Or is that like... hospital cafeteria tray or... ?

Here's how I handle my bagged milk:

1) go to grocery store and find dairy aisle:

2) find 4L bag of milk

3) open bag to reveal three individual bags

4) insert into milk jug

5) Enjoy moo juice deliciousness. Might I suggest washing down a nice poutine or beavertail with it?

funny story. My inlaws (from PA) went to the supermarket to pick up some milk for us when they were visiting. FIL came back and said, "they only had the giant bags". It took me a minute to figure out. Adorbs. Sooooo adorbs.

ETA: calling your boobs "milk bags" in Canada is just as funny as "milk jugs" is in the US

Another one, this is aimed at my SIL specifically because of her actions at a family get together last week when DH was introducing DS to some cousins.

SIL kept going on and on about how DS was the two legged grandbaby but that the original grandbabies were four legged.

So my FFFC is I'm embarrassed for people(my SIL) who talk about their pets in this manner when people are discussing children.

Although I've had conversations where people did this in a different way and it wasn't weird. Maybe it's just my SIL? Hmmmm.

I told my job my babysitter needed me to pick DS up early on Friday's so I could change my hours and get out earlier. In truth I just hate working Friday's and an earlier play date (mommy wine date) works better for me and my best friend. I don't feel guilty one bit.

My mom used to call my dog her granddog, but that's because I've had her for 14 years and just now had a baby at 36. I think it's cute of my mom to do that and shows how much she loves my dog.

I think your SIL going on and on about it and doing a comparison is annoying. So yeah, there's a difference.

My high school (in Southern California) served milk in little plastic bags. I didn't know it was weird until now. Students use to blow them up with air once empty and pop them. The lunch staff hated it, haha!

This milk bag concept has me interested. They'd be so much easier to freeze! I'm kind if jealous.

My FFFC: we discharged a bunch of patients yesterday so we sent a nurse home. It was my turn to get put on standby, but my coworker has a newborn baby at home and desperately wanted to leave early to go help his wife (who has been sick). I could've let him go instead if me, but I didn't. I really hope karma doesn't get me on this one.

Part 2? I considered not telling my mom/H what time I got off so I could go shopping alone instead. (I went straight home, though).

I knew when I came out last week that several of the regs wouldn't like that I'd not participated much. It is intimidating after letting so much time pass, but I knew I needed to just jump in if I was ever going to. I started the GTKY thread hoping it would help the regs get a little info about the non regs and make it less uncomfortable.

I am here too! My LO seems to eat all the time and is still slowly gaining weight. I've been..pumping as well because of having supply issues every other day, and bouts of mastitis but am struggling with the decision to actually stop.

this is in no way flameworthy! You guys are good mums. Why mess with a good thing? I used a shield for a week, but said that I'd continue using it happily if she had no other issues. But I thought my supply on my one side was starting to get affected, so quickly (in about two days) weaned her off of the shield.

We have bagged milk in MN too, it's at all the Kwik Trips I've ever been to. I never buy it because they don't have it in the grocery store but it's actually a lot cheaper.

A little late but I have one this week!

DH has been back to work since LO was 3 weeks old, I was envious of him for a long time when she was super fussy because he was able to get out of the house everyday. That stage passed and we got through her really fussy stage.

Two weeks ago I went back to work, I work 24 hour shifts and then I'm off for two days. My FFFC is that I'm glad to be back to work not only because I love what I do but it's nice to be able to get up and go to work knowing that I have a 24 hour "break".... I hate calling it a break but its just nice.... I feel horrible for saying it and everyone at work is asking how I'm doing being back and I have no problem saying I'm doing great. Of course I miss my baby like crazy but I get tons of pictures and I think knowing I have two days off (sometimes 5) with her makes it easier. Okay I'm done

Really??? Wow, where at? I'm in Green Bay and never seen it. Kinda neat to think it's closer than I thought.

I'm in Milwaukee and I've never seen it either!
