Skipped feedings

I am so stressed right now...I'm stuck at an appt and I last pumped around 11. It's now 4:30 and I probably won't get home till 6 or so. I had no intentions of being gone this long and now I'm really worried I may screw up my supply by going so long between feeding or pumping. LO has pumped milk at home to eat till I get back, just hoping this one time won't do much harm!

  • One time won't ruin it all. Power pump when you get home. Try not to stress.

  • Totally missed a pump session before. No worries pump when you get home.
  • You'll be fine!

  • I think we've all been there! I no longer even need the clock to tell me when I'm getting close to the 2 hour mark! So I can only imagine you're hurting! Ouch! Sorry! But no worries it won't mess you up, just drink a lot when you get home
  • I've done it a few times... And every night. LO sleeps a good 6 hours so it's usually 7 hrs that I don't pump overnight. I used to get up like an a-hole while everyone else slept. No more of that. Supply is the same. Still not enough, but the same.

How old is your LO? I am exclusively pumping and was producing more until mastitis a few weeks ago which made my supply drop. My guy is 6 weeks tomorrow and the every 4 hours at night is killing me for lack of sleep lol! And I am scared of mastitis again..how
long do you go between feedings or
    pumps?

Thanks all. Got home around 5:45 and pumped since DH fed her right before I got home...got about 5 ounces from each side, so at least I've bumped up my stash!

I was pretty uncomfortable by the last hour and a half or so -- my boobs were like boulders on my chest when I got home!

LO is 7 weeks and 3 days, but he's been sttn for about two weeks. During the day I pump anywhere from every 2-4 hrs. I try to keep it closer to 2 since I don't get up at night, but it depends on what's happening. I also try to nurse him once a day to help keep up supply. He will nurse, but EBF was a disaster for both of us. He gets 1-2 formula bottles per day, but I'm okay with that. I was a crazy woman for awhile trying to pump or nurse enough to eliminate the need for formula, but I got over that. I'm a better mom if I'm well rested and not stressing about the pump all the time. Eta: OP... 5oz per side!? Omg that must have been a relief!
