IUI Check In - January 14th

Sorry I am so late ladies.  Since my DH and I decided to stop trying I haven't been checking the boards as frequently.  If anyone else would like to take over the check-in please let me know.  I have no issues doing it, I just need to remember to come in on Tuesdays and update the info.

This is the place to update us on your IUI or break.

***Please note, if I don't see an update in 3 weeks, I will remove you from the list (you will see **4** before your name the week before I remove you)***

If you would like to be added please answer the following:

1. Where are you at in the IUI process? (2WW, meds, break, etc.)

2. Which IUI are you on?

3. Test/Beta day?

Congratulations to all recent BFPs.

Hugs to all those that need them!!!

Re: IUI Check In - January 14th

  • I'm currently in the middle of the dreaded 2ww. Had our second iui on Sunday the 12th. I'm hoping this is it. If not, I will do one more IUI, although with stronger injectables, no more conservative stuff!

  • Still benched, so no IUI updates here.  I am ovulating on my own now, so we are trying natural cycles right now.  I am currently CD8.

QOTW: No Vday plans yet.  My coworker works at Adam & Eve part time so I may go buy some nice lingerie or something.  I'm hoping I can convince DH to go to a nice dinner.  He is getting a decent bonus soon and mentioned going to Ruths Chris so maybe that?  IDK.

  • Hey!  You can move me to the 2ww list, we just had it yesterday!  We had 17mil TMS, I ended up with 2 definite and 1 maybe follies, lining was good, and timing was good (I think), so I'm pretty optimistic.  I had the IUI exactly 36 hours post-trigger and RE said that 2 follies had already ovulated with 1 maybe still to go.

Question- I've never ovulated before IUI, but since my LH hadn't started to surge yet at the time of the T-shot, it's pretty likely that I ovulated within the few hours before the IUI, correct?  I was a little worried, what if I had ovulated 12 hours earlier and 1/both eggs had already died.  Any thoughts?  RE didn't seem worried but I'm a worrier by nature.

QOTW- We'll probably go out to dinner the weekend before or after V-day.

QOTW: We usually go out for dinner but never ON Valentine's day, usually the weekend before or after.  We're not big on Valentine's day, but I did tell H that boxing Valentine's day, discount chocolate is always welcome :)

  • Hi ladies....I'm 3dpiui.  This was my first and luckily nothing to report.  About 20 minutes after I left I felt a huge cramp in my left side (where I had my 2 biggest follies) so hoping it was ovulation (didn't trigger).

QOTW- We're toying with the idea of taking a short vacation somewhere...we'll see if it comes about!  A family friend is studying in Ireland so we're trying to make time to go visit!

I'm on letrozole now and I have an u/s Monday to check for follies and hopefully trigger Monday or Wednesday.

Edited to add qotw- we haven't planned anything yet, but we'll probably have dinner at home. DH hates going out for vday because of the crowds lol.

  • Hey everyone!!!

AF came last Friday, so I am currently at CD7 and just finished Femara on CD2-6.  RE wanted to try 2-6 instead of 3-7 to hopefully see if I can get some more follies growing!

I am going in for a follie check on Tuesday of next week, and will plan for back 2 back IUI #4 Wed/Thurs or Thurs/Fri depending!

QOTW:  No plans for v-day.  I secretly wish DH would be romantic and plan something (like a night away at least or something), but he won't lol.  I know him and can't picture him doing anything too crazy.  We will probably just cook a nice dinner at home and enjoy each other's company.

  • I just had IUI #2. This time I think I only had 1 egg, on Tues the scan showed a 21mm and a 11mm, so I doubt the 11mm matured. DH count was 19mil, which is still considered good, but half of what he had last time. This IUI hurt more than last time and with a lot of cramping, so I'm snuggled up and hanging low. *sigh*. We don't celebrate valentines day, I hate valentines day, and I never want overpriced candy or flowers - such a waste of money IMO

  • In the 2ww, I can't wait for next week to get here to find out...really hoping this is it and trying to stay positive, Beta is 1/22, @jaytee16 we're Beta twins. If this doesn't work out, probably one more IUI until moving on to IVF, let's hope not!

  • I'm currently taking Letrazole for IUI #2 and have my next u/s scheduled for 1/19. I figure ill trigger around then based on how last month went.

QOTW: no plans yet! DH and I both worked in the restaurant industry back in the day and got in the habit of not doing anything because we wanted to work (was always a good $$ day as a server) and now we just don't like the crowds.

    Me: 32  DH: 33  Married: March 2004

    July 2006: started TTC
2008: HSG (normal), couple rounds of clomid through gyno
2008 - 2010: dragging my feet out of fear and procrastination
October 2010: first consultation with RE, dx PCOS and fibroids (DH slightly low count/motility)
Oct. 2010 - Dec. 2012:  In DENIAL! avoided the issue because I was scared of surgery
January 2013: returned to RE, fibroids grew significantly
February 2013: second HSG, fibroids pushed on tubes which blocked them somewhat
March 2013: MRI to determine what type of surgery may be necessary

July 29, 2013: fibroids (5) removed via robotic laparascopy
August 2013 - Nov 2013 : benched due to recent surgery

    IUI #1, Dec. 24, 2013, BFN
    IUI #2, Jan. 25, 2014, BFN
    IUI #3, Feb. 25, 2014  BFN
IUI #4 canceled due to lack of response to letrozole
    IUI #4.1 April 28, 2014, BFN

May 16, 2014: wtf consult, start prepping for IVF in June and add injects for one last IUI in the meantime
IUI #5 started letrozole and bravelle but canceled after HSG led to new diagnosis

May 21, 2014: third HSG, tubes blocked, one at the beginning, one hydrosalpinx??
June 11, 2014: consult, approved to move on to IVF because the hydro is not completely blocked therefore allowing fluid to move through slowly rather than backwards
    IVF #1 August 8, 2014 - 3dt of 2 embryos, BFN
September 17, 2014 - 4th HSG, the right tube is very patent (open!!) dye went straight through this time. Weird!
    October 2, 2014 - started metformin treatment
    November 14, 2014 - blood work, brought A1C down from 5.8 to 5.5

November 26, 2014 - RE finally back from vaca and reviewed my chart, no more IVFs for rest of calendar year
December 1, 2014 - Right after Thanksgiving, I called a new clinic and got in right away! Plan for IVF
    December 17, 2014 - ER! 29 retrieved (!!), 16 mature, all 16 fertilized (ICSI)

    IVF #2 December 20, 2014 - 3dt of 3 embryos, BFN

We are done with treatment unsuccessfully. :(

IUI # 1 here! Going in tomorrow for CD 3 ultrasound, blood work, and to pick up Ovidrel. I picked up Letrozole and Prometrium from the pharmacy today. I was thrilled that my insurance covered 80% of the cost. It doesn't cover anything fertility related, but I guess since both are used for other conditions as well, it covers it :)Will be starting the Letrozole tomorrow evening! I thought maybe the Prometrium came with an applicator or something, but I guess not :P I can see that it will not be fun to use when I have to!

Update: Benched due to elevated TSH on CD3 blood work

QOTW: No plans yet. I'm hoping for a Valentine's Day BFP more then anything else!
*** If you want to know where I (and soo many others) have gone, click here ***
  • IUI #1 was a fail for me, onto IUI#2. I start Femara on Saturday, ultrasound for follicle check on Jan. 27 then Ovidrel trigger before the IUI.

Valentine's day...we have plans to veg out watching House of Cards on Netflix and eating Italian food. I got a heart shaped cheesecake pan for Christmas, so I plan on making a cheesecake too.

  • 1. Where are you at in the IUI process? We are back to the drawing board, IUI #2 was a BFN.  I am currently on CD 6 and in the middle of my stimming injects.  They increased my follistem for CD 4 and 5 to 225, but today i go back to 150 and go in tomorrow for checks.  We will be using ganirelix this time in hopes of getting several mature follies as opposed to the just 1 i have had.. here's hoping DH's sperm remains super and I get some plump follicles!

    2. Which IUI are you on? #3

    3. Test/Beta day? Unknown right now

Congratulations to all recent BFPs! There have been a lot right now and that is great!!

  • My beta is tomorrow, but my POAS obsession has already told me this one was a bust. I didn't have much hope anyways, I just want to stop progesterone! We're onto IVF next.

QOTW: I am lucky (?) because my husband and I both work at the same place, and we always start a period of intense 72 hour work weeks within a day or 2 of Valentine's. We're lucky if we see each other awake for 4 or 5 weeks around that time, and we always just kind of forget Valentine's day even exists. Saves us the trouble!

  • I'm finally off the bench!!! Tonight was the first night of injects at an amped up dosage. For VD, we usually have cheese, crackers, appetizers and wine for dinner at home.
Ready to take the road less traveled.
  • I am in the 2ww.  Test day 1/28.  Had two follicles this time around so my fingers are crossed!

QOTW:  My husband and I usually just go to a nice dinner around Valentine's Day.  With it being on a Friday this year we might actually go on the day!

  • Midcycle u/s this morning - 1 beautiful follie on each side and an additional follie on the right side that may or may not catch up. Triggered this morning for IUI tomorrow morning and potentially a second IUI Sunday morning. My lining was terribly thin though, so on top of the baby aspirin, I have to start progesterone supplements Monday. All I want for my birthday is a baby, so maybe it's good luck that our IUI's fall on my birthday weekend? I'm grasping at what little hope I can at this point. Last IUI before moving to IVF :(

QOTW - Valentine's Day? What is that?  lol. we don't do anything from February through April 15th because of busy season. I honestly do forget about all the holidays that fall in those 3 months.

  • Well officially IUI is no longer an option for me.I was just diagnosed with a balanced translocation in chromosome 11 and 22, so our plan is to meet with a genetics dr and then shoot for IVFw/PGD and hope that we have an embryo or two that are okay to transfer.

I wish you all the bust and hope that things work out for all of you!

New Plan: Reciprocal IVF, me as carrier wife's eggs. Just went through insurance and received partial approval, so my part will go through my IVF benefits and wife's part will be out of pocket. Now just finalizing finance plans to cover the oop costs. Doctors office is in process of moving to a new building so there are no IVF start ups until March/April 2015.

  • This is IUI #3. I'm still in the two week wait but beta should be Monday but we are away so I have to wait until Wednesday.  Although today I have cramps and am so moody I could strangle someone.  And we leave tomorrow morning to go visit my in laws. They live on a boat and I booked a hotel for us as a back up as I'm not sure how ok I will be if AF arrives or if it doesn't but my DH doesn't seem to understand, he's only worried about other people getting upset if we go to a hotel.  If it does arrive I am anxious to get back to see the doctor so we can talk to him because we will start injectible meds after this. I don't have high hopes of this one working. DH's count was half what it was the first time even though I had about 3 mature follicules.

QOTW: Hopefully just going to dinner somewhere nice with my husband.

For some reason my signature never posts with this so hopefully this time it will.
  • Well since AF decided to show up early (on day 24!), I am starting IUI cycle #6! I start my Follistim tomorrow (CD 3). I'm not sure yet what day I will test yet as it all depends on when I ovulate which is usually CD 12-14. I'm very nervous because this is my first full cycle of Follistim and I'm very nervous about overstimulation! I have my first monitoring appointment on Thursday (CD8). I'm not very hopeful but still praying it works! Insurance requires 6medicated cycles with IUI before it will cover 50% of IVF. I hate insurance hoops but thankful that it helps with cost. Here I go again with #6.... Ugh...

I am so jealous your insurance covers half! Mine covers everything to diagnose IF but none of the treatments. So, OOP for all IUIs and IVFs. Sigh... But I'd pay any amount really....

  • Hi everyone hope you're doing well .The update on me is  my period that has never ever been late in all my years of getting a period is completely MIA I know my body very well so something is going on. Took a pregnancy test last week negative and haven't taken another one since then. Put a call into my nurse and she said  to call Monday if my period still hasn't arrived and I will come in for blood work and an ultrasound next week at somepoint. I was benched December due to a dreaded cyst. The nurse told me sometimes cysts can delay periods( never knew that one before) I'm just extremely frustrated if I didn't have an occasional cyst problem from time to time I would be more positive that me not getting my period is a good sign, however with knowing the cyst can prevent your period I'm nervous and not feeling as hopeful.  Congrats to everyone whose gotten a BFP recently and  Good luck to everyone else who is currently in a treatment cycle!!Hopefully we start getting more BFP's to jumpstart 2014.

  • Hi all, congrats to the recent BFPs and hugs to all who need them!

I am currently 3dpIUI from IUI #1. I had 2 follies on the right (yay!), an 18 and a 30, and a 17 on the left for what that's worth. IUI itself wasn't bad but she must have irritated my uterus or something because I was hurting pretty bad the rest of the day. We were instructed to BD that night and the next, and I powered through but it was definitely uncomfortable the night of IUI. I am not really that hopeful, but I am glad I at least got to do the IUI this cycle! Getting canceled sucks!

QOTW: We are not big V-day celebraters, it is a Hallmark holiday and an excuse for candy/flowers/jewelry sellers to make some extra $$$ as far as I'm concerned. Sometimes we make a fancy dinner together but that is about it.

  • Well went back on the 20th. They did a urine and asked me if I felt prego. I said no. They then did an ultrasound just to show I am going to be starting within the next couple of days... The urine was a bfn and so we will be starting a round 2 of femara within the next week. My poor hubby was more disappointed than me. I really hope this next cycle works! Sending baby dust to all out there trying! Hopefully year 6 of trying will be the year we finally conceive!!! Will keep everyone updated with any and all progress!
