Induction due to Polyhydramnios

My doctor wants to induce at 39 weeks because of the extra fluid and high station. He says his worry is cord prolapse. Does anyone else have polyhydramnios? If so, what's your delivery plan?

I was really hoping to avoid an induction but want to do what is best for my baby. I guess I'm concerned that it will turn into a c section since I am not dilated or effaced at all as of Tuesday. Here's to hoping Ava comes before Sunday on her own!

    I wasn't actually diagnosed with this, but I had an above average amount of water and my when my dr broke my water during my induction everyone was on call in case of prolapsed cord. I had been on pitocin with very consistent contractions and dilation, but baby would not come down at all. It ended up being fine, but oh my gosh the water did not stop coming out! Baby was trying to come down, but soon wasn't handling contractions. The cord ended up being wrapped around his neck...and his heart rate recovery took too long so I ended up with a second emergency csection instead of the vbac I wanted. But both my last 2 were over 9 lbs and just too big for me to push out.

    I also have been diagnosed with it. My midwives are against inductions so I have to be monitored three times a week at the hospital. I'm two centimeters dialated and our plan is still to have a vaginal birth. At this point they hope that my body will absorb the extra fluid.
