what am I doing wrong with this whole "ticker" thing?

I am perplexed. I created a ticker in the tools section, and copied the URL, then when I went back to the signature part of my profile, I had no way to "paste" what I'd copied. So I pasted to a Word doc, and tried it that way... but no. Can one of you smart ladies help a confused girl out? Thank you!!!!

I've tried both versions provided by the ticker generator... but both only show the text, no picture. any ideas?
