-bidet in master bath -claw foot tub -windowed room for plants -inner courtyard garden -tall doors and wide trim -history - I prefer an old house, though I'd go for a new one that mimics old
Dream kitchen. Warm wood floors, white cabinets, a million ft of counters, 2 sinks, Viking range...It's just so beautiful!
Also in my dream house would be a soaker bathtub that would be 6ft long so I could take a bath without having to put my fricking feet halfway up the wall.
And a deck very similar to this. We're redoing our deck this year and this is what I want, but DH thinks it's too busy.
I love fancy tiles, cobalt blues, and white bedding in the bedroom. All floors wood and tile. 90% of the shit I own would need to hit the road. I love these stairs, but would do something a bit different. I'd have a library with a rolling ladder.
Closets! I live in a house built in the 70s, so my closets are small and my bathrooms are small. I miss having large walk-ins like my old apartments.
I want a huge wrap around porch.
Vaulted ceilings, open concept, and tons of windows.
I want to be within driving distance to the ocean and a short trip to the mountains.

Kid #2 - maybe???

I want a room with bunk beds built into the wall. For the 8 million kids I plan to have and the 16 million grandkids that will come from them. This kitchen:
And this backyard:
Emma Rose - 9.14.05 Beckett - 5.26.07 Sawyer - 9.22.12 Lennon Mae - 9.26.14
4 bedrooms En suite bathroom with double vanity Large mudroom/laundry room to drop crap when we come home Open concept between kitchen and family area Large dining area that isn't a separate formal dining room Yard large enough to throw a football in Attached two car garage, either 3rd garage or shed for my husband's massive collection of tools and table saw, router, belt sander, etc....
So, this is probably more my renovation wishlist for our current home than anything else:
Master suite with bathroom with clawfoot tub
Adorable upstairs half bath
Coffered ceiling in living room
Renovate attic into mother-in-law apartment anticipating an aging parent potentially living with us, or a kid returning home for a short stint.
Double front doors (and generally restoring elements of the original facade of the house)
Library with dark wood paneling and a ladder (our library now is definitely conducive to this!)
Outside: Rose garden and herb garden and veggie garden. Also, dogwoods and redbuds.
Keeping everything historically inspired and respectful of the home's original design (AW, my house. It's known around town as "The House of a Thousand Windows" lol.)
I would like far fewer belongings, and for each piece of furniture to be old and solid wood. They won't match, but none of this new cheep veneer furniture.
Love a family room with huge windows, huge fireplaces, interesting ceiling, herringbone wood floors.
Those windows are not really my style tough. Would prefer tall french doors like these.
I want a fireplace in my formal dining room
And a cozy hearth in the kitchen
The most amazingly fun backyard ever:
Oh, and a laundry room in or connected to my closet.
If I were to imagine the house you live in now, this is exactly what I would picture for you. And I don't believe that your backyard doesn't currently look like that already!
Honestly the two story house we lived in when we lived in El Paso was my ideal home. It was spacious. Two livingrooms. The kitchen was amazing with granite counters and light from windows, the bedroom had a huge master bath that was amazing and a walk in closet. The space and tall ceilings of it took my breath away. I just miss it. I will move to a home like that when my kids are grown.

Ha, I wish. DH and I are negotiating the half pipe now. He had one in his backyard growing up and really wants one. I am fine with it but it has to look nice, and we have to have a fence.
Our house right now is around 1800sq ft. 2 bedrooms upstairs, 1 bedroom downstairs that we converted into craft/toy room. So both of these kids are going to share the massive bedroom upstairs (23x16) which is fine, except I hate our house anyway and want to move. Found a perfect one after I opened this damn thread, called the Realtor and talked to him for like 20 minutes and he told me it's in short sale with 2 offers already submitted, so of course now my dreams are crushed, my DH thinks I'm insane and all I can think about is taking a bath in a sunken tub. :-( I can no longer open these threads.

My friend growing up had a trampoline that was even with the ground and it was pretty much the most amazing thing ever! They also had other fun stuff, but that was the best!

This is my dream kitchen too (except I would not want white counters). I want 4-5 bedrooms, hard wood throughout, a huge master bedroom with big windows, a ginormous walk-in closet and a beautiful master bath with a huge tub, separate walk in shower, double vanity. I would want a very large backyard with a great outdoor entertaining space. I would just want everything to look very finished; beautiful details, not cookie-cutter looking. Pretty much I want the Property Brothers to build my dream house, I love what they do! How do I get on that show?!
Eta: oh, and I would want the house to have an open concept and great flow!
I agree with kdsmith about the old farmhouse!! I'd love heated floors in the bathroom, some exposed beams, a huge wraparound porch. DH wants a huge garage and two showerheads in the master...easy to please. Here are some pics that I love:
I love all the pictures of the kitchens, but I would want dark cabinets. Also, lots of storage, master suite downstairs or even just a 1 story, scrapbooking room, library, playroom, open concept, 3 car garage plus a huge out building for DH's toys and wood work room and on a large lot.

We've been talking about Aging in Place at work lately so the top on my list right now is a sunken tub and a walk-in (or barrier free) shower.
Not exactly like these, but it gets the idea across.
I like historical antebellum-style homes like this:
Features would be:
-Character (interesting moldings, maybe a stained glass window, interesting details)
-Claw-foot tub
-Lots of storage space
-Shaded porch
-Lots of book cases
-Hardwood floors
-More modern kitchen and baths though

Tons of counter space with a double wall oven.
Big barn where our toys can fit.
3 car attached garage
Stone work everywhere (including the kitchen)
Wall of windows to the back yard which is a green space leading up to the ocean.
My own person on suite bathroom. No DH man hair.
Love the idea of a huge closet with its own laundry room.
First floor master suite
Full walk out basement
Massive storage shelves in the basement
4 Bedrooms with on suite bath (1 for each kid and 1 for guests).
