Babies: 0 - 3 Months

How long did it take your C section scar/incision to stop hurting?

It seems like whenever I am active my scar gets really swollen above and below it. I know that it will take a while longer before I can really consider it to be healed, but it is really sore. How long was it for those of you who had C sections. It is really frustrating to try and comfort my fussy baby when I am trying to hold her up to my shoulder and she is kicking my abdomen. She is a really long baby though.

  • Mine has just about stopped but I asked my OB at my 6 week checkup and he said it should stop between 3 and 6 months post partum.

  • I noticed a big improvement from 6-8 weeks.  It still gets sore from time to time if I push myself too hard, but it hasn't been sore to the touch for a while.  If I exercise too much, it feels like it's being pulled and sore.
  • my incision doesn't hurt anymore but about 1-2 inches above it still hurts a lot with any pressure whatsoever.  i'm still not comfortable in anything but my yoga pants.
  • DS will be 4 months on Friday and it still gets sore if I wear normal pants.
  • Mine is still is a little tender if DS puts his weight on it when he's kicking and I'm holding him.  I feel much better from, say, 3 weeks ago though.
  • It still hurts from time to time now, but its getting better all the time.
