If you've passed 6 weeks....

I've heard fussiness and crying peaks at 6 weeks and starts to get better after the growth spurt? LO has been getting fussier each week since 3 weeks, and I'm hoping there is relief in the future. Is this true at all? Do things seem to be better as LO gets older?

  • DD seems to be back to her happy self. She was 7 weeks yesterday. There for about a week and a half she was cranky pants.

  • J was 6 wks on Monday. This past weekend was pretty bad. Yesterday was the calmest day we've had. I think we've hit the sleep part of the growth spurt. But her fussy time starts around 9 and last night it all literally hit the fan.... Well... Me anyway.

  • Knock on wood no cranky pants here at all. She is now 7 1/2 weeks.
  • I feel like my LO is getting more and more fussy, she's almost 4 weeks, buuuut we found out she's got oral thrush and so she's real gassy and her mouth is sore. Poor baby!
  • Us too. Turned six weeks sat and right in schedule he's been more cranky and way more hungry lol.
  • I'm so tired of the "witching hour" it's killing me!

  • From 6-7 weeks she didn't get super fussy just wanted to eat more often and non stop in the evening. At night she went from up every 4ish hours to every 2-3.

  • Goodness, I wish this was the case for us. DS turned 7 weeks in Monday and it's been pure hell. He cries all the time now for no reason. I wish I knew what his deal was.
  • For weeks DS has fussed and cried every night starting at 10 and ending around 1 am, now at 7 weeks the last few nights no crazy witching hour, hopefully that sticks.

  • My LO is 4 weeks tomorrow and he cries most of his waking moments. Nothing major but just super fussy. Almost feels like another growth spurt. I'm hoping 6 weeks means he will start being happy too

  • LO cried all day yesterday! I have never been so happy to see DH come through the door from work. The good thing about it was she slept in 3, 4 hour stretches last night. She's 7 weeks today. I hope and pray that today is a happier day!
  • Did things get better after the spurt?

It did get better. She actually started sleeping longer at night and went back to napping well and not wanting to eat every 1-2 hours. I'll just enjoy it while I can...I'm know it won't last long. Everything is so cyclical.

  • Do you count weeks from baby's birthday or your due date? I've read some baby milestones are by due date vs birthday. I've just been blaming any baby idiosyncrasies on whichever one she's closest to at the time...;)

  • Yes!! LO was cranky weeks 4, 5 and 6. Week 7 was better. She is 8 weeks today and has been so so sweet and happy. She is sleeping great at night but she has been a good sleeper since day one. It will get better!
  • Thanks, I'm really looking forward to 8 weeks, that's my goal point, a little over 3 more weeks!

  • I've never heard that... my first was a total crazy fussy nightmare from 12-16 weeks. I have heard "it gets easier" around 6 weeks mostly because mom is more confident/comfortable.

  • 5-8 weeks has been the worst for us, but the day he turned 8 weeks it was like a whole different baby.

  • 5.4 to 6.1 weeks was awful. He did eat more often but not every hour like other people have stated. However he was misrible if not sleeping or eating. Nothing we did would make him happy. Today we r at 6.3 weeks and his attitude is better but he is still eating more often. I just want to get back on a routine.
