February 2014 Moms

I'm not saying that today is the day, but...

So far since I have woke up I have done the dishes, scrubbed the bathroom walls, scrubbed the floor in the Baby's room, Vacummned and cleaned the kitchen (stove, baby bottles, etc.)

I'm starting to freak out a bit - is this nesting or am I just being productive?

  • Sounds like nesting to me, but I went through an insane nesting phase 2 weeks ago and I'm still very pregnant :)

Could go either way I guess. I have been in this strong nesting mode for the past week. Having strong cramps/BH, and 'lightning crotch' but I'm thinking at this point we are all on the edge of our seats, analyzing every little sign that labor is imminent.
  • I honestly can say this whole "Will I, Won't I?" thing is the worst part.

  • That's been me the last couple weeks too. My house smells so clean. I've been following the dog around after she comes in from outside to wipe up her paw prints. :/ it's getting bad. Moving into cleaning the garage tomorrow!

  • Could go either way but it is a full moon tonight. I know it's an OWT but my last two my water broke on a full moon night :-) the nurses in the ER and L&D said they believe it and actually staff up on a full moon night

My grandmother was a L&D nurse for 40+ years and she said they always needed the extra staff during a full moon.

  • It sounds like what I went through a few days ago! I was literally scrubbing the walls at one point. It was weird. Can you go through nesting and then have the urge drop off? Well, maybe not drop off totally but be too tired to do anything? That seems to be my MO lately. I will clean like mad for a day or two and then be so exhausted that I rest for a day or two doing nothing. (I know I am only into week 37 and I should want the little one to cook a bit longer but I am sooo tired of contractions that I really hope the full moon kicks things into action!).
  • With DS1, I nested and cleaned like a mad woman for a month before having DS.

  • I'm glad to know I'm not the only one. I figured I would give myself a hour of rest and then do some more and then another hour of rest and so on and so forth.

Set an alarm because I could totally loose track of time cleaning!

Hoping this doesn't hold true for me! I'm not ready!

  • I'm glad I'm not alone! I've been cleaning like a mad woman for the past 3 days! DH is happy because the house has never been so clean but he's worried I'm over doing it. I've also been having BH on and off the past couple days.
I don't know how true it is but the day I delivered my daughter it was a full moon.
In my case I hope Lo stays put a while longer as I'm only 35 weeks and change along

I started nesting early.. like, right after Christmas when we took the tree down! Now everytime I have days off it's clean, clean, clean, and even those stupid little details of dirty I never saw before. My DH has definitely had some days of worry that i've overdone it, but baby is still in there! I'm starting to wonder if there will be anything left to do once I go on maternity leave at 39 weeks!

  • Im in the same boat! I've cleaned 2 bathrooms, packed LO's hospital bag, DH and my own bag. Boiled bottles and nuks, set up the kitchen cab to accommodate her space and am now in bed ready for nap #1 today! I still have 4 weeks but it feels good to have a clean house right now
  • I wish I could nest right now! I've been working late and busy after work every night this week thanks to doctor's appointments, errands and my breastfeeding class last night. I still need to finish packing my damn hospital bag. Tonight's my night to cook after work, but hopefully I'll get to take care of that and a few other things while DH is doing the dishes.

Don't get too excited (or nervous) ladies. This has about as much supporting evidence as all of the old wives tales that pointed to us having a girl this pregnancy. Surprise: it's actually a boy! ;)https://www.babycenter.com/404_is-it-true-that-more-babies-are-born-when-theres-a-full-moon_10310191.bc
  • I hope it's not true this time. DH is leaving town tonight and will be 4 hrs away and it's a blizzard and full moon. I'm further along than when I had DS and my water broke on a full moon and my water broke on a full moon with DD.. Fingers (and legs) crossed baby will stay put

  • Our baby shower was Sunday and that kicked me into high gear when it came to cleaning. All I did on Monday was set up, wash, and clean almost everything we had gotten the day before and everything else that even looked like it had a hint of dirt on it. My husband worries because we just hit 34 weeks today, and he's noticed my belly dropped quite a bit. Honestly, I'm concerned too, with a mom who's a nurse and says the same things about full moons but we've got another one coming 2/15 which is closer to my due date. I'm hoping LO stays in till at least then since I haven't even put in my paperwork for my job. I can't do anything about my leave until 30 days before my due date, including paperwork. Yikes.
  • I keep thinking about doing things, but usually they don't actually get done.  By the time I get home from work I'm so achy and tired all I do is lay on the couch.  MH and I did clean over the weekend, but I still want to get the carpets cleaned before LO arrives.
