Just needed a little vent-kinda long

DH has been amazing about paying bills so I could stay at home with J, so I'm so appreciative for that, it's just the little things are starting to irk me. Today, when he got home from work, he bent down to j to say hi, then went to play on his phone, not a big deal since she was happy. I was making dinner and she started getting fussy. He kept saying she's fine, just whining, which is ok to him for her to just whine if she's not in any trouble. I told him, maybe she's wet, and he proceeds to say are you wet, but doesn't change her. I made everyone's plate and fed her a little solids. When she got done, I tried to eat some, but she started getting fussy and whining again. I told DH can I eat? Are you going to grab her? He says she's fine, just let whine it out. Well I've heard that most of the day-which again, I'm not complaining, I'm lucky to be at home with her-but I just wish he would grab her and play with her so I can eat really quickly. Later on, after her bath, I gave her a bottle and she passed out fast, so I walked into the room and whispered that I want to take a shower. DH said ok, didn't look up from his phone, didn't turn off the light. We usually put her into her swing to sleep while were up, and so I have to quietly turn off the light and try not to wake her up while I put her into her swing. While he still played on his phone. Like he's doing now.. Ugh, I just needed a vent, sorry it's so long, just annoyed. He's great, and I know it's because he's tired from being up most of the night, it's just annoying when I'm trying to get her down, pick up the living room, eat, etc and he not playing with her. Thanks for the vent.

    I know how you feel. My hubby does the same thing sometimes.

    My husband does the same stuff and it annoys me so much. I work, but I get home at 3:30 so he acts like I have so much more free time than him! He's forgetting that I leave the house at 6AM to be able to be home that early! Tonight I just wanted to eat too, and he was on his phone. He got home at 7pm!!! Play with your child! He missed you.

    I seriously think most men are really really similar. We love them, and they can be so great, but really really frustrating too!

    Thanks ladies. Luckily, this isn't an everyday thing, I just think today it really got on my nerves. When she's whining-after she's been fed and changed-it's usually cause she wants to be played with, which tonight, it just annoyed me that he played on his phone more than he played with her. I get the whining part isn't "a big deal cause she's fine" but seriously dude, just play with her and she'll be fine.

    I totally get it! I try to make a "no phones if the kids are awake" rule, but it lasts for a few days if that (as I bump while the boys play!). It really does drive me nutty and I don't want the boys to feel like we're not paying attention to them bc we're on our phone all.the.time.

    I totally get it, I SAH and we get no breaks all day long, and some days don't even speak with other adults. I had to explain to my DH that he gets a lunch break and other little breaks throughout the day, he gets to speak with adults, joke around with his work buddies and really use his brain. I get fussiness, poopy diapers and puke. Yes we have really good days, and I enjoy being at home. However when he comes I need a break and some help. He has done a little better since then, still a work in progress though!
