Bummed :(

I went to the doc for a 4 week visit and she wants me to wait 8 weeks versus 6 weeks to be cleared for sex. I'm bummed my stitches are healing so slowly. I had to have an episiotomy. I just want to make a full recovery down there and for things to be normal again down below. DH was so sad when I told him too, I thought he was going cry.

. I'm really scared it's going to hurt like crap and that sex will not feel the same... Irrational fear I know. Just had to vent

I don't mind waiting I was just surprised to hear that. Just talked to My obgyn sis and she said that's totally normal for my situation, and they can take 8 weeks to fully heal. Guess that makes me feel better in regards to the lady parts healing properly.

Awe.

I'm sorry. But at least your doc is playing it safe, so when you do start having sex-it's not awful and scares you away from it even longer?

It took 8-9 weeks to fully heal with my first. I'm hoping for a faster recovery this time.

Sorry you have to wait but it's definitely for the best if you aren't healed.
Fyi it probably will hurt when you do have sex again, but that doesn't mean it always will. Use lots of lube and keep trying. With my first I had an episiotomy and lots of other tearing and it took a while but sex did go back to normal.
