  • Here's my real introduction: I'm Kirsten, a 36 year old married woman who just had her first baby, a gorgeous angel named Keighlee, on September 10, 2013. I'd rather not disclose my location, but I will say I enjoy spending time in the city going to the theater and shopping and having nice meals with my husband and friends. Most of my friends with children started well before I did, which means their children are between 8 and 18 now. I want to connect with a group of women who have babies like I do. :)

Thanks for taking the time to read this. I do appreciate it greatly.
@kirstenviola: How is your baby's name pronounced? K-AY-lee, or K-EYE-lee? Your answer will determine whether or not I can ever forgive you.

  • @kirstenviola I think for the most part (besides a couple gifs that have been removed and I do apologize for that) the responses you have gotten have been appropriate and the way we would treat anyone for posting what you have posted. It's not that anyone is upset with you for being honest, it's that you have been blatantly rude and condescending in ever single one of your posts. It is one thing to express an opinion, it's quite another to try and tell an already well established group that their social norms are incorrect. Look at it this way: if I walked up to a group of people in real life and said, "Hey everyone, I really want to be a part of your super special group but I hate almost everything you do and I think the things you care about are silly," how do you think that would go down? Do you think I could just ask them to move on we'd just start over even though I still disliked their most active members and most of the things they did?

As I stated before, you clearly do not like the majority of this board. Look at the posts. Do you notice the same people are basically the main ones commenting and posting discussions? Every person that responded to you in this thread are the ones that will continue to be here and continue to post in a manner you don't approve of. So I truly don't understand why you think this is the place for you and that you need to stay here. Again, there are so many other sites where you can connect with moms and most of them don't include (awesome) gifs and discussions. Why not check them out instead of this place where you clearly don't want to be a part of the group we've already formed? We give plenty of support and encouragement but we give it to those who give it back. You have not done that or even come close to doing that so don't expect anyone here to give you what you want out of this site.

I would also like to point out that on a fairly regular basis there are people that come to our board and intro and say things like, "Hey, I've lurked here for a while and I like this board, I'm going to start posting more often so I'd like to tell you about myself." And you know what? We accept them with open arms because they are just regular women who already know our style and they already like it. You on the other hand, have stated numerous times that for the most part you don't like it and whether you meant to or not, you were not at all pleasant in your intro or any post there after. We have a great group and we welcome newcomers all the time, just not newcomers who act in the manner that you have. Please, do yourself a favor and check out another site. You are certainly welcome to stay here if you want but don't expect anything to change and definitely don't expect us to just forget any of this ever happened.

Okay OP, I am going to do you a favor. This is how to make this entire situation better INSTANTLY. First, I need two red velvet and two brown sugar cupcakes from Yummy Cupcakes. You have to deliver them to my door, good luck finding my place of residence because I do not want to "give out too much information." Now, this is important, take one part pinesol and one part water, put it in a spray bottle, and spray your front driver's side tire. After that, you will need to buy two Reese's cups and a package of toothpicks. Open the package of Reese's cups and insert 13 toothpicks into each cup. Place that outside on your front lawn. For the most important part. Go inside your house, turn on the computer, and make a new SN. Following these steps will yield the desired results.

@starscream, what is a brown sugar cupcake?  That sounds AMAZING!  I feel like I've been missing out not knowing that these exist in the world!
@Joi922Vanilla bean cupcake baked with a brown sugar/butter/cinnamon crumble topped with a swirl of Vanilla butter buttercream

@starscream This is a total post hijack, but that sounds ridiculously good to me.  I officially must find a baker near me that makes this (or something REALLY similar).  And it's cinnamon and vanilla, so that counts as breakfast, right?

    Edit because spelling counts
I consider it the breakfast of champions.

This sounds amazing.  I may or may not be drooling right now.

  • @kirstenviola if you went to so many different sites as you claim to, and like ours the best.... but you hate ours so much still.... maybe the Internet is just not for you.  Go find a local moms group on craigslist or something.
  • The C word and the B word mean pretty much the same to me as far as usage, but I watch a lot of British TV.

I agree with you once again. Cupcakes are not offensive at all to me. Actually I enjoy them greatly.

I also am not offended by the C U Next Tuesday word either, but that's because it's just a word. To me a swear word is a swear word. I don't have a rating of nicer and less nice words. No judgement. Just my view.

All of this, that word doesn't bother me in the least and I think people give it too much power. I understand why it offends people though, I get that most of the time it's just not appropriate.
  • It's funny how words that are acceptable on British TV like "cunt" and "tits" aren't here. What's wrong with "tits"? But saying "bloody" on British TV gets a "watch your mouth" from TV parents.
