Up all night! Teeth??

Help!!! My LO has STTN a handful of times or usually wakes 3am, 6:30am, back to sleep til 8am. This past week she's upnallllllll night!! Hourly from an hour after she goes down at 7:30pm. I'm a zombie! Pedi said she thought a tooth was coming soon two weeks ago so I'm guessing this is it? My older daughter didn't get teeth til 12m and never showed any signs of teething, so this is new to me. I'm guess I'm wondering if its definitely teething or does she need some sleep training?? I don't wanna sleep train if it is teething? But I've been nursing her allllll night bc its the only thing that is helping her sleep (for 45 min at a time). But I don't want her to get into the nursing all night habit again either?? She isn't really crying when she wakes. She babbling, whining, rolling around and after 10 minutes then she starts getting upset. Wouldn't she be crying/screaming in pain if it was teething? And she's fine during the day ... I'm just confused if this is teething or sleep issues and if I'm making it worse with the all night snack bar that she never needed before! Please help me, I'm exhausted and confused lol!

  • I could have written the same exact post! My LO is also having some symptoms that his acid reflux is back (haven't had issues for months) so I don't know if teething is upsetting his stomach too (all that drool!). Ugh- I am waiting another couple days then will call the nurses line for advice because I have had the worst week of sleep since he was born!

  • I'm sorry? Is it okay to post here? My baby is a June baby and I usually lurk?

  • Oh yea sorry, my outdated ticker might say July due date but my lo was born 6/24. I'm on mobile and can't see it! Sorry! Thanks!

  • Sounds like it could be teething, or it could be a wakeful period. Check his mouth daily and see if you see or feel anything. If it is teething, I suggest some baby tylenol or motrin when he gets fussy. That's all the advice I have- and I hope that lil sucker pops through soon!

  • OP. My comment was more directed at at the acid reflux lady, looks like she usually posts on December.

  • A good test can be to try Tylenol at night before bed. If he's in pain due to teething he may sleep better after Tylenol. If he's just being wakeful the Tylenol won't likely help. My LO was up a lot when he cut his first two teeth but it only last about 1 week. All babies are different GL

  • Sounds like teething....try Motrin or Tylenol right before bed.

    It's painful cutting teeth!

  • Yeah, sounds like teething. My dude is miserable and we are all wiped out from lack of sleep.

I suggest Motrin, extra cuddles, teething tablets and a cool washcloth.

  • Also nursing really helps with teething. Extra cuddles, meds, nursing for comfort and teething toys. My lo loves the Sophie, and the Mam chilled teether.

You can try a frozen wash cloth also. I've also tried a frozen wash cloth soaked in chamomile tea.

I've also read that at 6 months or older, you give your lo chamomile tea (cooled) through a bottle or sippy to help with teething too.
