Re: --**3rd Party Reproduction Check-In Jan. 12th **--
First off, thanks to @JM1977 for the shout out last week! The check-in does take some time to do each week, but I think it keeps us very connected as a group and is totally worth it!
@Mrs.McIrish - super big hugs to you. I cannot imagine the frustration of all these cycles, and it is hard to accept that it's likely an undetectable sperm issue. And, no commentary on DH - but I am also just bummed DS isn't an option; I understand but it makes me sadder for you.
@pooniki - I'm super bummed for your BFN. FX for your next try, but I imagine you are getting tired and with good reason. Hang in there.
Check-In:
I hate to complain because I am so happy this baby is making its presence known, but I feel so rotten! I get a few serious waves of nausea/headaches everyday but I never know when its going to hit me. I'm also having terrible smell sensitivity and can't eat any meat right now. It is so strange. Every time I tell J I feel ill she says "Good!" - which, in principle I am on board with. I suppose the upside is I haven't been as worried that the baby is gone. The downside is I'm eating a lot of cereal, cheese, nuts and crackers.
Also, I made an appointment with a counselor who specializes in fertility issues and loss for Tuesday. I'm actually feeling a little better in the PAGL sense, but still feel like a professional will add some clarity and perspective. Can't hurt. I have my next MFM appt. on Wednesday at 9w, u/s included which will be reassuring to see. Then, NT scan and Mat21 on 1/31 at 11w2d!
I'm thrilled to only have 10 more days of progesterone suppositories 3x/day and estrogen patches every other day! Soon, I'll be down to only my vitamins and Lovenox shot!
QOTW: Well, realistically for me right now, Maui sounds great. That is our go-to as it's a direct easy flight from Seattle and we just scored $340 RT tickets to go for our 1 year wedding anniversary in April! When we are there, we tend to be super lazy, read by the ocean, see some nature, etc. but if all goes as planned this time, I'll be 23 weeks, so I expect lots of laziness!
Me (43) and J (45) - same sex couple. And we don't feel 40+!

We live in Seattle and used SRM for our donor egg IVF cycle
QOTW: DH and I went to Sedona, the Grand Canyon, and Vegas in a week-long trip in 2012 and it was amazing. We had a great time and I would do it again in a minute. I would also really like to go on a cruise to Antarctica (I've heard it's amazingly beautiful), go to Ireland and stay in a castle, and hike around New Zealand near where they filmed Lord of the Rings. That scenery was gorgeous!

We're both a bit nervous about the side effects of the Lupron as we've heard terrible things about it. We don't exactly need more stress in our lives these days, so we're on the lookout for side-effects now and hoping for the best through just being overly kind to ourselves until we get to the transfer.
QOTW: Hawaii would be my ideal vacay right now, or really anywhere that is sunny and hot and relaxing. I'm so over winter and that horrid overcast grey.

Hi ladies!
@2MamazInSeattle - I hope you get to feeling better soon, but can still have peace of mind that LO is okay in there.
Thinking of you always!
@sammer818 - So glad you had an amazing appointment and you got to save $$!
@firesiren - It stinks your OB appointment was so lame, but I'm glad that they got it together and offered you another u/s. I'm sorry you're not feeling well - still! *hugs*
@xmaystarx - I'm keeping my FX for your embies, I think it's totally normal to worry about that at this stage. So much riding on it! I hope you have some beautiful embies to transfer.
@beckyP005 - Sorry there's nothing new going on with you. *hugs* I hope things pick up for you soon as you wait for a donor.
@socialwkrsweetie - I'm sorry you don't have everyone supportive and helpful to you during this stressful time where so much is on the line. That really sucks...try to tune her out the best you can and focus on what is important. I'm keeping everything crossed for you!
@Lacyj67 - I'm sorry about the bleeding! Glad you got some downtime to chill. I can't believe your FET is just around the corner! You're may be physically alone doing an FET this time, but you have all of us cheering you on like crazy. I so want this to be it for you! PS: My SIL just got back from Yacht week in Croatia and she adored it. I'd venture to even say it was life-changing. I hope you can go someday!
@ArgyleBride - That's frustrating about your clinic! Ugh! I hope things calm down at work for you too.
@lincoln79 - I totally hear you on the frustration of people who don't do your jobs. It really is a second full time job to manage all of the moving parts of getting things lined up sometimes. I admire you for being able to stay on top of them to reach this ultimate goal. Feb is just around the corner - holy cow! FX for you!
@DoublePortion - So glad to hear you are feeling better! I had a sudden restoral of energy around 9w too! It comes and goes though, so don't be surprised if you're met with it again, but I think it's a good sign that things will start to loosen up! I hope the flu is all gone for you too!
@Mrs.McIrish - I'm praying with all of my might that your little rockstar is all snuggled in just about ready to make him/herself known to you with an awesome BFP and beta! I'm so thrilled about the frosties situation!
@Mananda - So exciting! I was worried about Lupron too, but it wasn't as bad as I expected. I hope the same is for you too.
AFM - We had our first OB appointment last Thursday and everything went great. We scheduled the NT scan for the 23rd and will be doing Mat21. I'm nervous but eager to know the results, and the icing on the cake is we will know gender. The OB also adjusted my EDD by one day so now it's 8/7 (not sure if you want to update that on the roster, please, @2mamazinseattle.)
QTOW: I would love to go to Tahiti and stay in one of those above-the-water huts. I love clear, blue waters and the idea of staying right on top sounds so relaxing!

Snowflake baby is a girl!
Our beautiful Snowflake girl arrived on July 22, 2014!
My embryo adoption blog: Wishing on a Snowflake
I have just started getting into an exercise routine and, while I'm "excited" to start stims soonish, I'm not thrilled about the recommended activity reduction to accommodate (hopefully) swelling ovaries.
I've been doing high protein/low carb again since the start of the BCPs a week ago (after taking a few weeks off after we were cancelled and over the holidays).
QOTW: M has got me on the Hawaii bandwagon. I've never been. I would love to go, but unfortunately we live in Toronto not Seattle, so we can't get great ticket prices. M and I haven't been on a vacation of more than 4 days in the 3 years we've been together other than road trips to Chicago to visit my family, which aren't actually a vacation. And we haven't been anywhere warm together. We'd both love to go, but right now everything we can scrape together is going to fertility costs and savings for an increased parental leave for M. (I'm doing my PhD and M is the main income earner, so we need to have savings to make up for any additional time she takes off work.) Maybe if we get pregnant and stay pregnant this cycle, we'll be able to put a piece of our tax return towards taking a little "babymoon," but I don't know if that will end up being the case or not.
We're queer. I'm 33, have severe stage 4 endo, and had both fallopian tubes removed. My love ("Manada" on the boards, 32) was diagnosed with diminished ovarian reserve. We did Partner IVF (my eggs, her uterus). We lost our twins Tavin and Casey at 21 weeks gestation.
Our IUIs
with @Manada: IUI# 1-7 (December 2012- September 2013) all BFN. Tried natural, femara, clomid, puregon/follistim, clomid and menopur combo, both the ovidrel and HCG triggers.
Our IVFs:
IVF #1 my eggs November/December 2013: Cancelled IVF due to poor response
IVF #2 my eggs/Manada's uterus January/February 2014
BCPs and lupron overlap Stimmed: 1/22-2/2: Bravelle and Menopur (dosage ranged from B300 and M150 to B375 and M150 to B300 and M225)
2/4 retrieved 10 eggs. Endo was much worse than expected. Only 3 eggs fertilized; February 7 transferred two day 3 embryos, froze one. All great condition.
BFP eve of 6dp3dt; Beta 1 (11dp3dt): 110; Beta 2 (13dp3dt): 175; Beta 3 (15dp3dt): 348; Beta 4 (19dp3dt): 2222; Beta 5 (21dp3dt): 4255

What are your next steps? All I can do now is wait. I was put on BCP and my prolactin level has gone up to 37 so I am now also on Bromocriptine. I have no symptoms of a person with high prolactin levels, so just a little confused.
How are you feeling? I have been pretty overwhelmed and confused. I know I have been silent, just trying to muster through it all.
QOTW: After so much of the country had terrible weather, coupled with the post-holiday let-down - describe your perfect vacation! I'd love to go back to Italy. I fell in love with Rome.

Afm- honestly, I'm starting to get really frustrated. Our agency hasn't received our donors medical records yet and it's holding up the process. Our clinic can't schedule her appts until they have this. The agency was closed for 2 weeks over the holidays. We reserved our donor a month ago and I was expecting to have some progress made by this time...
I know many of you have waited much longer than this, so I'm sorry for complaining to you about this, but this is how I feel.
The good news is that our preliminary contract is complete, so I'm hopeful that we can start once our donor can actually get into the clinic.
I'm so tired of feeling this way. We moved quickly to get everything done and paid for on our end; we were hoping it might speed up the process a little....I know I will feel better once we have a calendar. Right now, I am just afraid something will go wrong and we will have to keep waiting.

Most Lovenox peeps take baby aspirin alongside it. I'd ask about that. My MFM said BA doesn't thin your blood in a meaningful way, and it's more for its anti-inflammatory qualities. I'm doing both. And, because it's a precautionary dose, my MFM said I can stop anytime I want, but we'll likely go the distance - too afraid to stop, if something happened I couldn't forgive myself.

First, I’m sorry I’ve been MIA for several weeks.
At first I was having trouble posting and then things were crazy with the holidays and all.
But I have been reading posts and rooting for all of you from the sidelines…
And I echo what @JM1977 said about my appreciation for all of @2MamazinSeattle’s hard work every week conducting the check-ins!!
I’ve been super excited for all of the recent BFP’s, so I wanted to say congrats to:
@2MamazinSeattle – Wow, you’re 9 weeks already?
Where did the time go?
Hope your MFM apt. went well!
@liz4paws – Glad to hear your OB apt. went well and another wow for being 11 weeks, very excited for you!!
@firesiren – Happy to hear about your plain ole pregnant status! I hope your u/s went well yesterday!!
@DoublePortion – Another wow and congrats for being 10 weeks along!!
Fingers crossed for @Mrs.McIrish and your 4BB blast!! and anyone else in the 2WW, as well as my fellow January cyclers, including @Lacyj67, @healz and @Manada!
Special ((hugs)) and a shout out to @BeckyP005, @Km672 and @Sunni01…I know waiting around/getting delayed is beyond frustrating!!
AFM, I’m scheduled for a FET of my last 2 donor egg frosties next Wednesday (1/22).
They are day 6 blasts, so I’m guessing not as good quality as the prior ones that we transferred, which were day 5 blasts, but it is what it is.
I’m beyond nervous and already thinking about a Plan B…but I also want to make sure I give this cycle a fair chance too (and am trying to think positive).
I started Crinone today (what fun, LOL) and also started my antibiotics and Medrol, so it’s feeling more real now.
QOTW: Sad to say, but DH and I haven’t been anywhere in over a year, as I’m still looking for F/T work (I was laid off in May) and we’ve had to scrimp to pay for this FET.
At this point, I would love to go ANYWHERE, even for a long weekend.
