This is the weekly June '14 PgAL check-in. This is a place for anyone due June 2014 that has suffered a previous pregnancy loss. PgAL is an exciting but scary place so please feel free to share your thoughts, concerns, milestones and vents. Mostly, this check-in is to remind all of us that we are not alone in the journey and to offer support along the way. Check-in is every Saturday.

Hey ladies? What other questions/answers do you think would be fun either to know every week or for the QOTW?

How far along are you? 19w 5d according to my dr., but 19w 2d according to O.

Team? Pink! I like Kelsey and DH likes Morgan so no decisions yet.

Got the courage to buy anything yet? I just bought some things for breastfeeding and I'm picking up a co-sleeper next week. I'm questioning myself if its too soon.

How are you feeling physically/emotionally? Any updates or appointments coming up you'd like to share? Feeling great and really noticing that baby is starting to get in the way. The dr moved me to 4 wk check-ups so I have awhile to wait.

Any PgAL crazy you want to add? Any baby awesomeness this week? I had to raise my voice at DD#1 this week for being a turd and I got a thud from DD#2. They are already starting to team up on me.

QOTW – What makes you feel all pretty inside and out? A good haircut always makes me feel good and I don't get it done enough. I just discovered shellac nails which were incredible until I needed to take off the polish and it ruined my nails. I'm definately considering getting it done on my toes and nails before the baby is born so I feel extra pretty.

Got the courage to buy anything yet? Actually DS and I went to consignment store last night and got a few pieces of clothing. Today I plan to register with my DH and DS.
How are you feeling physically/emotionally? Actually physically much better (besides this damn cough). No more bleeding thank god. Emotionally I'm better too. I've started telling extended friends and coworkers I'm not so close with.

Any updates or appointments coming up you'd like to share? A/S and appt on wed.

QOTW – What makes you feel all pretty inside and out? Lately? Nothing. Having hard time accepting my body (already had issues prior to pregnancy). Usually hair and nails and a flattering outfit

How far along are you? 19w 4d...almost half way..ah!

Team? Not yet..this week.

Got the courage to buy anything yet? Went yesterday and picked out furniture and bedding...started to put a registry together (so stressful). I have a onesie and bib already.

How are you feeling physically/emotionally? Any updates or appointments coming up you'd like to share? Feel pretty good..just stressed about the registry thing. My mom and sister came with me to help but I ended up feeling worse off. Way too intense..and I LOVE shopping and registry fun. It's just overwhelming. Midwife appt on Monday and A/S on Tuesday...big week!

Any PgAL crazy you want to add? Any baby awesomeness this week? Not much..feeling good still!

Got the courage to buy anything yet? Not yet, but really needed that assurance from my appt yesterday...I think i'll be better as I am starting to feel some movements from time to time and I know that that will increase. Planning on doing a registry on the 20th since I have the day off - my a/s is also that day...

How are you feeling physically/emotionally? Any updates or appointments coming up you'd like to share? Still get a lot of anxiety episodes, I don't want to call them attacks per se since they are usually in the middle of the night and just wake me up and keep me up...no pain or breathing issues with them... a/s on the 20th and I need to schedule another blood test for spina bifada check before my next regular appt otherwise another 4 week gap....

Any PgAL crazy you want to add? Any baby awesomeness this week? I hope everyone has a great week! Baby awesomeness - oh yes - Work just changed their maternity leave policy which was already awesome (12 weeks at full pay) to 16 weeks at full pay... i am so glad that a US based company is starting to "get it". the change is effective Jan 1, 2014 - so i am fully eligible....plus with my seniority with the company I also have 5 weeks of vacation...lots of baby bonding time and will also be sure to bond with my DS before and after the baby arrives

How far: 16 weeks today

Team: yellow. We have everything we need so it's not about gifts. I told a few family members about this pregnancy and they took it upon themselves to tell the whole family so I never got to do an announcement. Now everyone demands that I have a girl (since I already have a boy) and it rubs me the wrong way. Since I was robbed of the joy of announcing MY pregnancy, I'm going to announce the sex MY way. They can all suck it.

Buy anything yet?: no. I'm not feeling connected yet and we don't know the sex.

How are you feeling?: physically exhausted but other than that ok. Emotionally a little all over the place. This week I was very weepy. I had an appointment on Thursday that went well. My uterus is measuring a week ahead (which is normal for me) and the heartbeat sounds good. I still haven't really felt the baby yet so I'm just trying to wait patiently.

Pgal crazy?: I haven't done a FB announcement. I wanted to wait until my 12 week appt then until 14 just to be safe... Then I told myself after my 16 week appointment I will definitely do it but I haven't. I'm chicken. Anyone else having trouble pulling the trigger so to speak??

GTKY: I agree with PPs. Mani, pedi, haircut and a cute outfit do a lot to boost my spirits.

How far along are you? 19w today!

Team? Green. Our anatomy scan is Monday morning... we're just excited to find out if everything looks healthy.

Got the courage to buy anything yet? Got some gifts for baby for Christmas, but we haven't bought anything. I'm going to start looking on Craigslist for a crib, glider, etc. once we've cleared some space in the nursery-to-be.

How are you feeling physically/emotionally? Any updates or appointments coming up you'd like to share? Mostly feeling good. I had a headache that lasted for two days, but that seems to be gone now.

Any PgAL crazy you want to add? Any baby awesomeness this week? I've been planning to tell my colleagues after the anatomy scan and now I'm wondering if it's still too early. My bump is just starting to show but looks more like christmas cookies than baby.

Got the courage to buy anything yet? Nope. I haven't bought one thing for the baby.

How are you feeling physically/emotionally? Any updates or appointments coming up you'd like to share? We had an u/s to check out baby. Everything looks great. My cervix is soft so I will be having weekly checks to make sure that it isn't shortening or dilating.

I will have my a/s scan on the 22nd. Hopefully we can decide if we are going to find out the sex or not. And hopefully baby and my cervix continue to look good.

QOTW – What makes you feel all pretty inside and out? hm. When I get to get dressed up and go out. I have my work awards banquet next week so I bought a new dress and will do my hair fancy and have nice makeup. I love the opportunity to get all dolled up.

Team? I have this feeling it's a girl but won't know for 5 more days.

Got the courage to buy anything yet? I got some stuff for the baby for Christmas, and we bought a swing from DH's cousin. I also bought an old wooden high chair to refinish. But I have held off on buying anything really expensive for now.

How are you feeling physically/emotionally? Any updates or appointments coming up you'd like to share? I feel good most of the time, but for some odd reason I have been gagging and throwing up at random times again, maybe morning sickness round 2? I've got 2 appointments next week a check up with my diabetes Dr. Tuesday then my A/S Thursday. This week can't seem to pass fast enough it's been so long since I have gotten to see baby.

Any PgAL crazy you want to add? Any baby awesomeness this week? I love that I feel the baby move everyday now, but I wonder if baby can tell when I try to get DH to feel cause as soon as he puts his hand on my belly baby stops moving completely.

Heard the heart beat on the Doppler at my appointment on Monday and m/s started improving we'd (at 16 weeks). Started feeling a lot more positive and then got a call yesterday from the dr that I am elevated risk for NTDs based on my second tri blood test I had on Monday. Freaking out. Have an appt Monday with geneticist and an u/s appt. and I was told if we decide we want it, we can get an amnio on Monday too. Leaning towards the amnio. Can't believe I was finally starting to feel like this was really going to happen after our three previous losses. Trying to convince myself that the test just tells us a risk and may be wrong.

How are you feeling physically/emotionally? Any updates or appointments coming up you'd like to share? A friend from my BMB with my daughter mailed me her doppler and it got here last night!!! It took us a little while to find it, but we found Viviana's heartbeat chugging away at like 161. It was right in the area where I normally think I feel movement, which makes me feel like I really am feeling her. After the bleeding scare last week I was just trying to not think about it until my next appt (coming up on Tuesday) because I knew if I allowed myself to think about whether or not she was alive I would totally break down. But now I just feel so much better. Knowing I can check (for example, I'm already planning on checking on Monday night, knowing that otherwise I'll freak out with the appt the next morning) is just giving me so much peace of mind. I am so thankful.

In other news the girls (Lucia and the 2 girls I nanny) had fevers with our colds this week, which I of course got last night. I brought it down with tylenol and light clothes, so I'm hoping it stays down. It was only 101, so the internet says I don't need to worry too much being that I'm not in the first tri and it was so low. Fingers crossed it doesn't come back and doesn't go any higher.

QOTW – What makes you feel all pretty inside and out? At this point, my bump. I'm showing that thing off all over town I am so thrilled to still be pregnant, and so in love with how my body looks right now because of it.

@Steveswife2 - I'm so sorry for the bad news. I actually had the same results with my son - saw a geneticist that scared the crap out of us - but he's absolutely healthy. Hoping your baby is, too!

How far along are you? 17w1d

Team? Green for now - I don't want to find out, but my husband does. He realllllly wants a daughter.

Got the courage to buy anything yet? Not for the baby - but we don't really need anything. I did buy two maternity pants, but ended up returning both of them.

How are you feeling physically/emotionally? Physically SOOO much better. Still sleepy, but much less nausea. Emotionally, pretty good. I felt the baby two days ago, but nothing yesterday, which makes me worried, of course. Sigh. Crazy lady!

Any PgAL crazy you want to add? Any baby awesomeness this week? Feeling the baby kick was awesome. Being stressed out when the baby isn't kicking is PGAL inducing!

QOTW – What makes you feel all pretty inside and out? When I do my make up and/or go running. Not at the same time, but they both make me feel awesome!

Got the courage to buy anything yet? No, for a lot of reasons... but we're trying to save up for a house.

How are you feeling physically/emotionally? Any updates or appointments coming up you'd like to share? Emotionally, I'm very ready for my next appt. which is on the 22nd and my a/s scan is on the 24th. Physically, I've started to have some lower back muscle ache/pains. Along with what I'm guessing is growing pains.

Any PgAL crazy you want to add? Any baby awesomeness this week? I had bad back pain last time and even though this time it's a different sort of pain... it's hard to not to associate the two. As for awesomeness... sometimes I think I feel the baby but I have no idea! I keep waiting.

Got the courage to buy anything yet? Nope, but I did look at double strollers in hopes of getting a previous year's model on sale.

How are you feeling physically/emotionally? Any updates or appointments coming up you'd like to share? Feeling much better than I have been. A/S is Monday. Starting to get nervous about that!

Any baby awesomeness this week? DH got to feel the baby this week.

QOTW – What makes you feel all pretty inside and out? This may sound odd, but a healthy pregnancy. I have never felt better about myself than I did when I was pregnant with DS (even when I get huge towards the end!). I was just so happy that my body was doing what it was supposed to and that made me feel awesome!

How far along are you? 17wks 5days

Team? 10 days and counting!

Got the courage to buy anything yet? Nope. Maybe after the 21st.

How are you feeling physically/emotionally? I am super happy to be pregnant and I love I can check on baby with the doppler, but this last week I am finding it very hard to feel connected to baby. Not knowing if it's a girl or boy doesn't help either for me. I can go a whole day and have no reassurance that I am still pg, like movement. I know I am still early for constant movement, but my brain is playing tricks on me. It makes me sad because if this is my last pregnancy I want to be able to enjoy every minute. Plus, I think I am starting to have fears that something will be wrong with my little June bug at the a/s. I know a couple girls that at their 20wk found out their baby passed away or baby wouldn't make it past delivery. So, trying not to dwell on it, but it's hard some days.

Any updates or appointments coming up you'd like to share? Monthly check up Monday. Hopefully that give me some reassurance that all is still well. Then A/S on the 21st.

Any PgAL crazy you want to add? Just what I listed above and I think my weight gain is starting to go crazy. I hadn't gained any weight at my 14wk check up, but now I think I have gained 5-7lbs in only 4wks. Ugh! Dr not going to be happy.

Any baby awesomeness this week? Baby has moved up from my pelvic area to just below my belly button. That's been nice and more comfortable.

Got the courage to buy anything yet? I just bought a Snoogle and some summer maternity clothes Other than that, I'm a STM so I don't need to buy a whole lot for this LO.

How are you feeling physically/emotionally? Any updates or appointments coming up you'd like to share? I had a good appointment this week. Baby's heart was beating away and he/she actually punched the Doppler while my MW was listening to it! Weight gain is going great too. My anatomy scan is next Saturday!

Any PgAL crazy you want to add? Any baby awesomeness this week? I've got a little mover and shaker in there! I feel baby moving several times each day. With DS I was just barely feeling movement every few days at this point.

QOTW – What makes you feel all pretty inside and out? Maternity clothes actually! I think PG women look beautiful and love seeing my bump coming in and filling my maternity shirts.

Pink, Camryn ~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~ Got the courage to buy anything yet? Ordered our crib and dresser/changing table. I know it's early but kohls had an amazing sale I couldn't wait on. ~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~ How are you feeling physically/emotionally? I came down with the flu Wednesday night, have been in pretty rough shape ever since. My first tri was relatively easy so I guess it's karma coming back at me. I don't like being essentially useless at home, had to take my first sick day in 6 years! ~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~ Any updates or appointments coming up you'd like to share? My blood pressure was up at my last 2 appointments (close to 140 systolic, this is way new for me, I'm usually 112) so they will be monitoring me more closely, seeing me weekly after 32 weeks, extra US at 32 and 36 weeks. She thinks it is going to be fine but just wanted to be sure. But she had no concerns with me still going on our cruise, signed the papers without reservation. We are leaving from Miami in 6 weeks with stops in Ochos Rios Jamaica and Grand Cayman. So excited! Dying to get out of the arctic weather we have been having . ~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~ Any PgAL crazy you want to add? Waiting patiently for movement and for this belly to pop! So much pressure, baby Cam (this is what daddy is calling her) is needing for more room! ~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~ Any baby awesomeness this week? Getting all dolled up for a special night out, which doesn't happen often, I'm usually in scrubs, or workout gear so I love getting to look cute! Or wearing a pretty bra and panty set, (that's the green light for DH) I feel beautiful on the inside when my nieces cuddle up with me, or I really get to help someone at work. And especially on my wedding day when my mom told me that I was as beautiful on the inside as I am on the outside. Awww, love her! ~~~~~~~~sorry this looks so funny, I'm bumping from my iPad.

Got the courage to buy anything yet? Besides maternity clothes for myself, nope. I don't have a single thing for the baby yet. Seeing the one thread on here today about what people are doing this weekend to get ready for the baby, I feel so unprepared.

How are you feeling physically/emotionally? Any updates or appointments coming up you'd like to share? Physically my back is killing and I'm having lightening crotch pains here and there; emotionally, I'm feeling better. I popped this week so I've started to tell people at work. I have my next cervical check on Monday. I'm praying that everything is still looking good. I'm also pretty excited to see my baby boy again! This past week, I had a great appointment. THe baby's heartrate was great, I gained no weight (which is huge for me becuase I'm overweight to begin with), and my blood pressure was good.

Any PgAL crazy you want to add? Any baby awesomeness this week? I hope everyone has a great week! I am feeling movement like crazy. Little rolls and kicks. They are definitely making me feel better and like this is really going to happen.

QOTW – What makes you feel all pretty inside and out? I have probably the worst self esteem known to man. So it's alot for me to say when I feel pretty because usuall I don't. But, if I hd to say I would say when my hair is done and i have make up on, which isn't often. I also make it a point to get a mani and a pedi every two weeks, which helps me feel a bit better.

I'm so sorry you are faced with this possibility. Can they not do one if the new blood tests(MaterniT21, Harmony, etc.) instead of the amnio? The geneticist we saw said the results were more accurate than an amnio.

Got the courage to buy anything yet? Bought a breast pump last week because I found out my insurance covers up to $178 for one. Since I was pissed my birthing class wasn't covered, I was sure to find a pump for $176- you're welcome.

How are you feeling physically/emotionally? Any updates or appointments coming up you'd like to share? I'm feeling better each week and am slowly starting to feel more connected. Looking at baby pics of DH and I definitely helped! My next appointment is the 29th. We can definitely find out the gender, but are choosing not to. People that don't know about our miscarriage (there are many) think we're NUTS for not wanting to find out.

I feel like I should be getting more excited about that baby since I'm almost halfway there, but I'm sure it will come soon enough. I'm still waiting to feel it move...I can't be certain if it's "flutters" or gas.

Those only test for certain chromosomal issues, not neural tube defects. I hope everything comes back ok for you

Got the courage to buy anything yet? After the a/s on Thurs, DH and I went to Build A Bear and made our little guy a teddy bear!!!!

How are you feeling physically/emotionally? Any updates or appointments coming up you'd like to share? I'm feeling so much better emotionally since having out a/s, we found out we are having a boy and he looked great and healthy!!! Physically I've got some back pain/sciatic pain and heartburn.

Any PgAL crazy you want to add? Any baby awesomeness this week? Finding out the sex was the highlight of my pregnancy so far!! I feel like I'm more connected now to him!! And last night I felt a real good karate kick from the little guy!!! He needs to keep those coming so DH can feel too!!!!

Got the courage to buy anything yet? Nothing for baby yet...although a few people have given us gifts which I'm ok with. I have bought a body pillow for me and plan on going shopping for maternity jeans tomorrow.

How are you feeling physically/emotionally? Any updates or appointments coming up you'd like to share? Physically-still not great and still throwing up. Im worried this might last the whole pregnancy. Emotionally-Good! Had a good 16 week appt where we heard a nice strong heartbeat. We've even picked out our crib bedding so I guess you can say we're starting to feel pretty good about things!

Got the courage to buy anything yet? A couple of onesies and some books. Friends and fam have started to buy clothes too, gotten some cute stuff!

How are you feeling physically/emotionally? Any updates or appointments coming up you'd like to share? We have our a/s on Wednesday, which I am both nervous and excited for. DH can't make it so I'm worried about getting bad news without him. I still haven't felt any movement so that makes me anxious, but also excited to see him again and hopefully see him moving around.

Super emotional today but today is the 10 yr anniversary of my dad passing. It was tough when he passed I was 29, about 3 weeks before my 30 bday and now I will be 40 in a few weeks. So been a tough day.

I love getting my hair cut and colored and my nails done. I just got my hair colored a few weeks ago, always feels so good right after. I have not had my nails done in months. Maybe at some point I will get them done again. I go months with being a tomboy then all of a sudden I want my nails done. lol go figure.

Sorry I've been MIA lately! We have been in the process of moving so the last few weeks have been a super busy collection of packing, cleaning, organizing, and trying not to pull my hair out!

Got the courage to buy anything yet? I've bought some little things like onesies and holiday bibs here and there when I've found good ones on clearance, but haven't had the balls (or time) for any big purchases yet...
How are you feelin emotionally/physically? Emotionally, good, although a bit nervous/anxious for our ultrasound this week. Physically, my lower back hurts more frequently now that this belly has really popped...and I'm peeing a lot again. Have also enjoyed the act of peeing my pants while sneezing, coughing, or laughing over the last week or two. Now that's fun

Any PGAL crazy or baby awesomeness? Silly PGAL brain has me a bit worried we'll find something wrong at the ultrasound Wednesday, despite this pregnancy moving along smoothly to this point. However, the fact that I'm feeling more and more movement has been awesome! Starting to feel more kicks than flutters, so hoping H can start feeling them soon too!

How are you feeling physically/emotionally? Any updates or appointments coming up you'd like to share? I took a Bump break around the holidays because I had some really bad anxiety to work through. An acquaintance experienced a 2nd tri loss before the holidays and that sent my PGAL brain into hyper-drive. It's getting better now and I'm hoping my AS on Monday will help alleviate some of the paranoia I've been feeling lately.

I had all kinds of crazy thoughts about how it could've impaired circulation to my LO. I really, really hate PGAL brain. Besides that, baby bump has sprouted finally which I'm really excited about!

Hi Ladies, this is my first time posting in the PGAL thread. I am due June 26th, 4th pregnancy and second baby to (hopefully) be joining us. How far along: 16 weeks 5 days Team: Currently team green, Anatomy scan is coming up on Thursday the 23rd so hoping to find out the sex then, fingers (not babies legs lol) crossed Buy anything yet: I have purchased a few maternity items and a new bathing suit for baby moon coming up at the end of February, nothing yet for baby. I am sure I will feel more comfortable shopping for baby after our 18 week scan. Feeling: Overall pretty good, m/s has subsided a bit, still tired a lot of the time and still pretty nervous about any little thing although I have started feeling some movement which is so reassuring. Feeling very grateful that my sticky baby seems to be hanging in there and two very positive u/s so far. Also heard the heartbeat last Friday and a very good 144 bpm. My last loss was this past July at 10 weeks along. What makes me feel pretty: My hubby most of the time lol, thinking about a Mexican beach and some fun in the sun with my hubby a LO (son is 4 years old) I am feeling sexier now that I am out of the sick feeling (and anxious) first trimester. I was a stressed mess for awhile there, worrying about everything.
